Operation Snow Bash: Idaho trains-up the children, for war!

31JAN2018 (15:22 UTC-07 Tango 06)  11 Bahman 1396/14 Jumada l-Ula 1439/15 Xin-Chou 4715

“A lot of this is teaching resiliency training to military kids so they know how to cope with deployments and know that there’s a support system always there for them.”-Katie Kohlbecker, father is member of Idaho State Militia

Idaho National Guard has a Child and Youth Services program which held a four day Beyond Camp Wonderland-Snow Bash 2018 to instill team building and leadership skills, and build resiliency for tough times ahead, in the children that took part.

One participant gave ominous Orwellian sounding praise for the program: Everyone is the same because we all have parents in the military. It’s different than interacting with kids at school because most kids at school don’t have parents in the military and don’t know what it’s like to have a parent gone.”-Elijah Maisey

Keep in mind that Idaho is one of only 11 U.S. states that have the highest per capita participation rate in the U.S. military system! (IDAHO ONE OF ONLY 11 STATES SUPPLYING MOST OF THE HUMAN CANNON FODDER FOR THE OBAMA REGIME)

Children can join the Idaho National Guard Child and Youth Services when they turn ten years old.  They can even gain rank: “It’s rewarding to see the development of the older kids who have transitioned from campers, to counselors to chaperons.”-Colonel Farin Schwartz

“Let’s piss in his mouth.”: Dumbing Down U.S. of A., January 2018

“The most effective way to destroy people is to deny and obliterate their own understanding of their history.”-George Orwell (aka Eric Arthur Blair)

Disappearing Students Syndrome (DSS): A phrase created by me to describe a phenomenon taking place across the United States, affecting both privately and publicly funded schools, from Kindergarten all the way through University levels.

Across the United States, in metro areas taxpayers could become burdened with yet another cost of providing inadequate grade school education; housing subsidies for teachers!

The U.S. Army and the Department of Homeland Security are designing a simulation of school shooting situations for teachers.

“We can’t prevent evil, and trying to prevent it by taking away the freedom of law-abiding people is not a price our society should pay.”-HomeSchool Association of California, regarding the 13 adults and children rescued from their “Good Christian Family” home-school-hell in Perris

NBC Los Angeles on home schooling: “Alaska and Idaho have virtually no regulations, while New York and Pennsylvania families must submit annual instruction plans to the district, administer standardized tests taken by public school students statewide and provide academic progress reports.”

Incomplete (i-e Tip-o-the-Iceberg) list of publicly announced education related layoffs, shutdowns and education crimes, January 2018:

Arkansas: Trusty Elementary school could be shutdown within four years due to the outrageous costs to maintain the almost 100 years old building.

Arizona: A now former Ironwood Ridge High School assistant coach arrested for suspected sex crimes.

California: 60% of estimated 6-million students in The Golden State’s grade school system are considered poor and/or English Learners.  An Infotech employee of the privately funded Nueva School arrested for inappropriate contact with a child.  As many as 90% of students in the Twin Rivers Unified School District are living in poverty, now the federal government charging three school workers with stealing taxpayer funded USDA food meant for those poor students!  At Helix High School a female student refused to leave after being suspended, resulting in her arrest. But here’s the ironic part, police say as they were arresting her she tried to leave, i.e. escape, so she’s also facing resisting arrest charges. Things are so bad in Riverside County that Val Verde Unified School District has created its own police force!  In San Bernardino County (the largest county in the world) four school districts (Fontana, Hesperia, Apple Valley and San Bernardino) have their own police forces!  A teacher (who is also a Pico Rivera City councilmember) at El Rancho High School caught on video dissin’ students wearing clothing displaying U.S. military logos.  The cell phone video was posted on facebook by Kimberlie Flauto, at one point you hear the teacher say “Your freakin’ stupid Uncle Louie or whatever. They’re dumb shits. They’re not high-level bankers. They’re not academic people. They’re not intellectual people. They are the freaking’ lowest of our low.” regarding military personnel fighting the undeclared War on Terror.

Los Angeles Times: “A 67-year-old with two Harvard degrees and an international reputation in ophthalmology, Puliafito started using methamphetamine with a circle of prostitutes and criminals while dean of USC’s Keck School of Medicine…”  and now a suspect in the death of a drug addict’s baby.

Colorado: A Thunder Ridge High School student that obviously hasn’t learned much from being in school posted video of himself biting into a laundry detergent ‘pod’.  Hey, maybe it’s a new form of washing your mouth out with soap after using ‘foul’ language?

Florida: After being suspended for a fight at Surfside Middle School a 12 years old girl killed herself, her parents say she was being bullied and the school’s actions only made things worse. After 64 years privately funded Arlington Country Day School shutdown without warning to parents, while class was still in session!  School administrators gave no reason, but promised to refund field trip money (no mention of refunding tuition).  The cost for attending the private school is about $7-thousand USD per year per child: “She said the school was shutting down. She didn’t say why…   I am livid … It’s crazy. At this point it’s crazy!”-Venessa Balan, pissed parent

“I just assumed they were doing fine. I’ve always heard throughout the grapevine that they were doing fine, and had 300 kids. But I have no idea how many they really have because, obviously, they don’t communicate a lot with us.”-Grace Williams, operator of competing private school

Idaho: Six weeks after being hit by a massive ransomware cyberattack, the Jerome School District claims it has restored about 95% of their computer processes.  Shoshone School District hit by federal lawsuit after a 13 years old girl said she was raped in class, it was recorded on security camera video.  A woman is now suing two state lawmakers, accusing them of non-physical sexual harassment while she was a high school page in the state House.

PMC West Campus, Pocatello, Idaho.

State lawmakers hoping their new Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine will solve at least one of many deficiencies within the Idaho medical system, however, let me remind you that less than ten years ago ‘wise’ lawmakers rejected an Idaho State University  proposal to build a medical school, even after Portneuf Medical Center offered their old PMC West hospital building (located right next to the ISU campus, it was eventually torn down in 2016-17 ostensibly to make room for a VA clinic) as it was going to be shutdown anyway, and a taxpayer funded study (A Proposed Distributive Model for a Medical Degree Program) said it was sorely needed and would greatly boost the local economy!    Idaho news media boasting of record level student enrolments in taxpayer funded grade schools, however, while overall numbers are up they’re not spread evenly across The Gem State, many districts actually lost students like District 91.   Yet another report says Idaho teachers are ‘getting the hell outta Dodge’, this time the study was done by the State Department of Education itself.   In District 25 signs of religio-class warfare as rich Mormon dominated school board wants to end what it calls “student self-segregation”.

Highland High School, Pocatello

Highland High School, Pocatello.

It involves a decades old rivalry between rich-Mormon-brat-prep’s and wannabe-prep’s Highland High School and everybody else’s (including working class Mormons) Pocatello High School (aka Pokey High).

Iconic Pocatello High School

Iconic Pocatello High School. Photo by AAron B. Hutchins.

For decades parents have been able to choose which high schools to send their kids to.  District administrators now complain that Highland High is overcrowded by about 7-hundred rich-brats and/or wannabe rich brats, while Pocatello High School is disproportionately full of poor students whose parents can’t pay the outrageous yearly fees, so to ‘correct’ this “socio-economic” imbalance administrators want to end parental school choice!

Century High School

Century High School, ‘The Prison’.

Another possible covert reason for ending parental school choice is that nobody wants to send their kids to the outrageously huge and expensive and controversial Century High School (I call it The Prison because from Interstate 15 it looks like a state prison).  Several years ago the State Department of Education told District 25 there weren’t enough students to justify the state/federal funding for the school (which was built on land purchased from a relative of a school board member).   District 25 recall petition.

Illinois: Community High School District 155 threatening to shutdown the Haber Oaks Campus and relocate the remaining 90 Crystal Lake South High School student body due to at least five years of DSS (Disappearing Students Syndrome).  God powerless to stop the Archdiocese of Chicago from shutting down five schools (Saint Cyprian School, Holy Cross School, Incarnation School, Our Lady of the Ridge School, Saint Michael School)  due to The Rapture, I mean what I call DSS.  At Morgan Park High School a girl was nearly “stomped” to death for ‘liking’ a boy’s post on social media. Apparently the boy’s girlfriend doesn’t take kindly to other girls liking his posts.

Indiana: Jeffersonville High School student arrested and accused of sex crimes with 17 children.

Iowa: State lawmakers considering making passing a U.S. citizenship test a requirement to graduate high school.

Kansas: A Blue Valley Northwest High School student threatening suicide was obliged by Overland Park police who shot and killed him. Police claim he was trying to run them over with a car.  Some parents of students at Herington Elementary School stood up to christian bullying and halted the 1st Amendment violation of Bibles being forced upon public elementary school students: “The district’s actions in assisting the Gideons in distributing Bibles to elementary students represents a clear breach of the Establishment Clause of the United States Constitution and we hereby demand assurances that this practice will discontinue immediately.”-Appignani Humanist Legal Center

Kentucky:  The state Public School Commissioner condemned the Cordia School building, forcing it to shutdown by February.  A new state law allows taxpayer funded public schools to violating the federal 1st Amendment by using taxpayer funds to pay for Bible/christian classes!

Louisiana: A teacher was arrested after questioning why the Vermilion Parish School Board gave the superintendent a $30-thousand USD taxpayer funded pay raise, when teachers and other school employees have gone without a pay raise for years: “I feel like it’s a slap in the face for the teachers, the cafeteria workers or any other support staff we have.”-Deyshia Hargrave

Maryland:  The ‘bomb cyclone’ that hit the east coast revealed that more than 60 Baltimore area schools had no functioning heating system!  In Rockville: Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) has received multiple reports from community members that one or more individuals is posting inappropriate content on a private social media platform, including nude images of MCPS students.”

Massachusetts: Leftist liberal globalist Harvard Kennedy School is attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, alongside President Donald Trump.   Boston Public Schools accused of sharing immigrant student info with ICE.

Michigan: East Michigan University eliminating 60 jobs due to being short by as much as $5.5-million USD, partly caused by lack of students.  In already-proven-in-court-to-be-run-by-criminals Flint: “The Flint Community High School athletic department and upper level management does not have the students’ nor the student-athletes’ best interests in mind. Specifically, in the athletic department there has been criminal neglect and incompetence on multiple occasions.   I demand that … the entire Flint administration step down immediately for the greater good of Flint schools.”-Trace Fisher, high school football coach

Minnesota: Fridley High School engaged in censorship when they edited out a student’s shirt from a school pic.  The shirt read Deport Racists.  It’s been revealed that the 77-acre Duluth Central High School property still hasn’t been sold, the school was shutdown six years ago.  Doesn’t that make you happy taxpayers happy?  Police investigating claims of sex crimes between a Grand Blanc Community Schools employee and a now former high school student, police refused to give any more info.

Missouri: You can now claim a tax deduction for your private school payment, further hurting tax funding for public schools.  Gov’na Eric Greitens wants lawmakers to extend a taxpayer funded college scholarship program for graduates of taxpayer funded high schools to graduates of privately funded high schools.

New Mexico: Nationally recognized teen NanoForm inventors get kicked out of their Taos Middle School lab, with no explanation.  Their invention sponsor said the school principal wanted them out.  Some state lawmakers want to join the police-state-school system by forcing taxpayers to spend between $25-million and $60-million USD to turn the Public Education Department into its own police force.

New York: As a fine example of where education priorities are with students, a New Dorp High School cheerleader wants 500k tweets so she can meet the Mets for prom!  At least 16 school districts actively engage in School Lunch Shaming of students whose parents can’t pay the lunch bill!   A now former Olean High School special ed teacher, along with his mother, is charged with welfare fraud.  A female New School for Leadership and the Arts teacher pled not-guilty to sex crimes with a 14 years old student.  Local news media described the teacher as “booze loving”.  God powerless to stop the shutdown of ‘his’ 94 years old (surviving The Great Depression and numerous recessions) Saint John Villa Academy, apparently god needs money because The Sisters are conducting a study to see how much money would be made from selling the school.  In Bronx-NYC, at Public School X811 a drug addict was found dead in the school toilet room, he wasn’t a student he was one of the teachers!!!

Ohio: In Stark County, Perry Local School District dealing with the suicides of six students.

Oregon: A contract worker ripped down Immigrant Welcome signs at taxpayer funded River Road/El Camino del Rio Elementary School.  The worker was fired, but district administrators admitted the signs are too political and will not replace them.  Seaside Heights Elementary janitor accused of sex crimes with students.

Pennsylvania: Scranton School Board laying off 51 teachers and all librarians!  School administrators swear student access to the libraries will continue.  Pleasant Valley School District under investigation for using a vending machine equipped with a wi-fi camera to spy on teachers in the break room, for the purpose of extorting them, the district’s supervisor of support staff already arrested.

Rhode Island: The female principal of Harry Kizirian Elementary School accused of knowing about, and failing to report within 24 hours, sex crimes involving a gym teacher and fifth graders.  In 2016 the state law regarding the reporting of sex crimes was changed, and the principal claims she was unaware of the change.

South Carolina: In a fine example of lack of leadership intelligence resulting in taxpayer ripoffs, Berkeley County School District filed a federal lawsuit against an insurance company claiming that for the past 16 years it sold the school district $14.2-million USD in worthless insurance policies.  Taxpayers should sue the school district for signing onto, and paying for, those insurance policies!

Tennessee: A teenage girl arrested for killing another teenage girl from Glencliff High School, by accident, during a burglary spree the girls were involved in.  In a statement the arrested teen said a gun they were using during the burglaries accidentally went off.   It’s been revealed that it is a crime to be a barber in Tennessee without graduating high school! One requirement to get a barber’s license is that you must be a high school graduate, but a crimewave of fake barber’s licenses reveals a failure of the taxpayer funded grade school system.

Texas: Houston based Parker School Uniforms now chapter 7 bankrupt busted, local news reports say all 320 employees were laid off without warning and without final pay!  Houston Independent School District warning of calamity due to new state funding requirements, crashing student enrollments and local tax revenues.  Texas school districts caught violating voting laws by using taxpayer funded school buses to transport voting aged students and employees to polling stations to vote on issues affecting education: “This is the first time this behavior has occurred. That’s why it’s different and needs to be commented on. It needed to be stopped before it got out of hand.”-Paul Bettencourt, state senator

Vermont: Rochester School shutting down at the end of the school year, it’s down to just three high school students.  Parents are concerned because they have no way to drive their kids to the nearest school, after the shutdown.  News media report that the state is experiencing a yearly decline of about 1-thousand-3-hundred students!

Virginia: Exalted state lawmakers finally admit their garde school system is nothing more than a ‘school-to-prison pipeline’.  In one example an eighth grade student was ‘arrested’, suspended and sent to juvenile court after a school cop accused him a stealing a 65 cent carton of milk, which turned out to be part of the student’s free lunch due to his family’s low income!  Lawmakers claim they will now change current laws which requires school principals to report specific misdemeanor ‘offenses’ to police.  In 2015, the Center for Public Integrity stated that Virginia has the highest rate of students being sent to police/juvenile courts in the country.  A 2016 Virginia Tech study discovered that students with disabilities, and ‘black’ students, were disproportionately more likely to be suspended or expelled from grade schools.

Washington: After years of courtroom battles, Washington Inter-scholastic Activities Association (WIAA) and a former high school coach settled a defamation lawsuit.  The coach was suspended for two years when Bellevue High School accused him of violating WIAA rules.  The coach is not seeking money in his lawsuit, instead he wants changes to WIAA rules. His lawsuit against the high school continues.

Wisconsin: God powerless to stop ‘his’ Saint Gregory Catholic School from shutting down due to lack of students, apparently they’re unable to meet the minimum of 20 students required for next school year.

Wyoming: Wrestlers at Kelly Walsh High School are facing accusations of waterboarding a teammate, even allegedly saying “Let’s piss in his mouth.”

“inadequate Medicaid reimbursement rates”: ObamaCare ACA death spiral, January 2018

Incomplete list of healthcare related layoffs and shutdowns, announced in January 2018:

ObamaCare-ACA fact: Only one out of four workers has health insurance through their employer, according to a survey by Clutch.

So much for hi-tech security, 5.6-million patient records were illegally accessed online during during 477 incidents in 2017!

Another reason to stay out of hospitals; the Journal of the American College of Cardiology says if you have a heart attack in the hospital during nights or weekends you’re more likely to die, compared to having a heart attack during ‘working hours’.

Musician Tom Petty died from prescription opioid overdose.

Arkansas: Arkansas Pharmacists Association says pharmacists are being reimbursed less than what prescription drugs actually cost.

California: An Iraq-born Swedish immigrant infiltrated (several times) the Sharp Grossmont Hospital claiming to be an anesthesiologist, which he is not, his final arrest was by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.  Ventura County Medical Center warning of a $8.3-million USD loss, canceling overtime pay and suspended hiring for vacant positions.  Surprise Valley Health Care District now chapter 9 bankrupt busted, the rural hospital is hoping to get $1.5-million USD by partnering with Colorado based CadiraMD.  Drugs pusher Allegan eliminating 1-thousand jobs (421 of those job cuts are in California) due to its exclusive drugs now being available for manufacture by generic drugs makers!  Accountable Healthcare eliminating 66 jobs in Signal Hill, by the end of February.  In Ventura, Aurora Vista Del Mar Hospital suddenly eliminated 194 jobs!  Scripps Health Administrative Services issued a layoff WARN for its San Diego location, 69 jobs gone by March.  Is it connected to the fact that Scripps Health has to pay a $1.5-million USD fine for fraudulent Medicare and Tricare billing? Palomar Medical Center Poway suddenly laid off 42 people “To better position the organization for the future”.  SynerMed issued a layoff WARN for its Monterey Park location, 275 jobs gone by March (back in November 2017 news reports said the Medicaid and Medicare manager was going out of business)!  In Woodland Hills, Health Net issued a layoff WARN, 63 jobs gone by the end of March.  Seventh Day Adventists issued massive WARNs for multiple healthcare ops; Adventist Health Sonora eliminating 135 jobs in April, Adventist Health Feather River shutting down 72 jobs gone by April, Adventist Health Glendale shutting down 167 jobs gone by April, Adventist Health Simi Valley shutting down 70 jobs gone by April, Adventist Health Reedley and Selma eliminating 115 jobs, Adventist Health Hanford eliminating 205 jobs, Adventist Health Saint Helena eliminating 2-hundred jobs, Adventist Health Corporate in Roseville eliminating 229 jobs!

Colorado: Denver based Healthgrades laid off an undisclosed number of people.

Florida: Brookdale Senior Living eliminating 110 jobs by the end of March!

Illinois: In Chicago, health insurance giant Cigna suddenly laid off 60 people as part of its plan to get out of the state Medicaid managed care program.  Cigna claims it found company jobs for 2-hundred of its Illinois Medicaid program workers, leaving 60 without employment.  ‘Safety net hospital’ Roseland Community Hospital suddenly laid off 35 people, due to a state financial relief program for hospitals that is now in financial trouble itself.  Unlimited Development shutting down its 52 years old Care Center of Abingdon, 60 nursing home jobs gone by the end of March due to  federal government rules and “inadequate Medicaid reimbursement rates”.   Don’t blame lack of patients for disappearing nursing homes, the Knox County Nursing Home and Rosewood Care Center did a survey and found “over 300 empty nursing home beds in Knox County” alone!  The demise of nursing homes is blamed on crashing Medicaid reimbursements.  PCI Pharma Services issued a shutdown WARN for its Woodstock location, 74 jobs gone by May.

Iowa: If you get the flu don’t go to the ER, unless you want to wait all day before getting help.  University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics force you to wait up to seven hours because being sick with the flu or ‘cold’ is considered a non-emergency.

Kansas: A whistleblower accusing Wichita based Christi Health of ripping off federal taxpayers by forcing Medicare patients to undergo unnecessary procedures. Turns out the lawsuit was filed in 2016, but only now is it being made public.

Kentucky: Taxpaying residents are suing the federal government for allowing states to force ‘working age’ Medicaid recipients to work in order to get medical treatment.

Maryland: University of Maryland Medical Center Midtown Campus under investigation for patient dumping, after a video was posting on social media showing security guards dumping a woman, wearing nothing but a hospital gown, at a bus station in freezing temperatures.

Massachusetts: Vibra Hospital shutting down its Springfield location due to lack of funding, at least 250 jobs gone in March, pending  a hearing by the state Department of Public Health!  Fallon Ambulance Service suddenly laid off 23 employees.   Mental health service provider Pathways by Molina shutting down two locations, 162 jobs gone!

Michigan: For-profit Detroit Medical Center warning that as many as 3-hundred employees will soon be unemployed as part of a new “transformation plan”An immigrant doctor from Poland arrested  by U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement, suspected of child abuse. Apparently Michigan State Police investigated and dismissed the allegations.

Missouri: SERCO laying off 850 people despite a $1 billion contract by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid!  Local news discovered the layoffs were actually planned back in 2016.

Nebraska: In Minden, taxpayer funded Hinterlong Living for Seniors and Countryside Living Nursing Home shutting down due to lack of reimbursements, the Kearney County Health Services blames it on the state’s version of ObamaCare-ACA.

New Jersey:  Drugs pusher Pernix Therapeutics eliminating 41 jobs due to one of its exclusive drugs now being available for manufacture by generic drugs makers.  Since 2015 cash strapped cities have challenged the tax exempt status of more than 35 non-profit hospitals! In some cases judges ruled some non-profit hospitals are actually tax evading for-profit enterprises!

New Mexico: God powerless to stop ‘his’ Holy Cross Hospital from suddenly laying off 12 people due to a new Medicare payment method.

New York: NYC based drugs pusher Pfizer eliminating 3-hundred jobs as it ends research into creating drugs for treating Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s!   In Manhattan-NYC, after 33 years Coogan’s shutdown due to a massive $40-thousand USD per month increase in rent by the ‘christian’ owners of the property (New York Presbyterian Hospital)!  A doctor with Nassau University Medical Center arrested and accused of strangling a nurse with an electrical cord.  Reports of a nine fold increase in ambulance diversion due to hospital ERs being cramped of ‘non-emergency’ flu patients.   ArroHealth eliminating 42 jobs in April.

North Carolina: Texas based Conifer Health Solutions halting debt collection services for Frye Regional Medical Center, 81 jobs gone.  Unconfirmed reports say Conifer Health Solutions might be sold-off by its parent company.

Ohio: God powerless to stop ‘his’ Premier Health owned Good Samaritan Hospital, on Philadelphia Drive in Dayton, from shutting down.   1-thousand-6-hundred jobs affected by the end of 2018, due to a plan by Premier Health to ‘repurpose’ the hospital property!  A 76 years old nursing home patient froze to death outside the Hilty Memorial Home!  An investigation revealed that staff failed to conduct routine bed checks, which would have alerted them to the fact the woman had gone missing.  And in a failure of hi-tech, it was also discovered that the electronic monitors worn by patients were not working.  Affinity Medical Center shutting down sometime in late February-early March, a restraining order temporarily halted shutdown ops, at least 692 jobs lost!   Doctor’s Hospital Physician Services revealed that the shutdown of Affinity Medical Center will force them to layoff 116 of their employees!

Oklahoma: The state Department of Health warning of 198 layoffs and halts to funding for healthcare/abuse treatment grants due to lack of taxpayer funding!  After more than 60 years taxpayer addicted Pawhuska Nursing Home shutting down due to lack of taxpayer reimbursements.   The Oklahoma Association of Health Care Providers revealed that Oklahoma’s nursing homes lost more than $93-million USD in taxpayer reimbursements since 2010.

Oregon:  Diagnostic Imaging of Salem suddenly shutdown, at least 34 jobs gone due to declining ObamaCare-ACA insurance reimbursements.

Pennsylvania: Camp Hill based Rite Aid pays $4-million USD to settle accusations by the federal government of ‘improper’ sale of pseudoephedrine, which can be used to make illegal meth (methamphetamine).  A new state rule makes it mandatory for hospitals to notify patients if they are eligible for ‘charity care’, apparently hospital weren’t voluntarily letting patients know that.

Puerto Rico: Israel based drugs pusher Teva Pharmaceuticals shutting down its drugs factory in Manati, killing 2-hundred jobs!  It’s part of a plan to kill 14-thousand jobs worldwide, due to $35-billion USD of debt!

Tennessee: Tennova Healthcare canceled plans to build a new $303-million USD hospital and instead will try to renovate existing hospitals.

Texas: Texas Children’s Hospital reports a 66% crash in income, mainly due to a 20% increase in expenses, from the end of 2016 to the end of 2017! Select Specialty Hospital shutting down in February, 96 jobs gone. Pennsylvania based Universal Health Services canceled plans to lease the bankrupt North Texas Medical Center.

Washington: Bankrupt Trios Health laying off an additional 20 people.

Washington DC: The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) both warning about drugs meant to treat opioid addiction.  The warning is that many treatments might be nothing more than ‘snake oil’, 11 suspect companies have been identified.   Since 2016, drug addicted ‘Mericans spent an estimated $800-million USD on internet purchases of illegal fentanyl pills made in China, according to the Senate Homeland Security Committee.  The Committee also accused FedEx and UPS of profiting from shipping the illegal drug.   The federal government fining India based Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories $5-million USD for dangerous prescription drugs packaging.

ObamaCare (ACA) death spiral December 2017: “THE REALITY OF OUR INDUSTRY’S ECONOMICS: FLAT OR DECLINING GOVERNMENT REIMBURSEMENT RATES COUPLED WITH RISING COSTS.”

Pacific Ring of Fire activity strikes Idaho? Volcanoes just destroyed all human attempts to stop climate change! Get ready for Cascadia!

26JAN2018 (13:09 UTC-07 Tango 06) 06 Bahman 1396/09 Jumada l-Ula 1439/10 Xin-Chou (12th month) 4715

“We remain on red alert… …gearing up for three months…”-Romina Marasigan, government disaster agency worker

For awhile now I’ve been suspecting that the ongoing earthquakes in southeastern Idaho could be the result of secretive fracking operations by the petroleum industry.  But this time it might be due to a sudden increase in activity around the Pacific Ring of Fire.

Here’s the rundown:

During the second week of January 2018, Mount Mayon in Philippines begins small eruptions and lava flows, then on 23JAN2018 it begins large eruptions. 25JAN2018, massive lava flows begin, eruptions continue.  Now at least 81-thousand people forced to evacuate, and told eruptions could last three months!

18JAN2018Big Waves, Flooding Batter Oregon And Washington Coasts

23JAN2018, in Japan, northwest of Tokyo, a volcano (Mount Kusatsu-Shirane) suddenly erupts. Cell phone video shows the eruption occurred in a new area not associated with the volcano, on the slopes of a ski resort.  One soldier killed while taking part in ski training, 11 people injured.

23JAN2018, magnitude 7.9 quake strikes off the southern coast of Alaska.

25JAN2018, magnitude 5.8 quake strikes off the coast of northern California.

25JAN2018, the Soda Springs area of the inland state of Idaho hit with numerous 3 and 4 magnitude quakes (again).

One volcano can destroy all human attempts at curbing human caused air pollution, so stop trying to waste your taxpayer funding on trying to stop climate change.  But volcanoes cause Ice Ages, not global warming, so mister-almost-was-president-of-the-U.S.-if-he-hadn’t-of-given-in-to-George-Bush-Jr-threats Al Gore, it looks like Mother Earth is taking care of ‘global warming’!

livescience: Research Shows Volcanic CO2 Levels Are Staggering

Oregon Field Guide warns of massive earthquake-tsunami Cascadia Event:

https://youtu.be/-n6FxBNNOC4

“Idaho’s participation helped raise awareness that the residual effects of an earthquake and tsunami along the coast would be felt in Idaho. That includes the possible need to accommodate tens of thousands of evacuees and displaced persons who were directly impacted.”Federal Emergency Management Agency, June 2017

By the way, FEMA designates inland Idaho as the refugee destination for the expected massive Cascadia Event, which new computer models suggest will wipe out half of Oregon and Washington.  Idaho’s population will suddenly explode by “tens of thousands” of people (maybe that’s why our exalted, and secretive, leaders keep talking about a huge future boost in population?)!  But wait, if Yellowstone goes off then we all get wiped out!

“it’s time to adapt or die”: U.S. Food Crisis, January 2018

Incomplete list of announced United States food supply shutdowns for the month of January, 2018: Many food suppliers/distributors are consolidating operations and killing jobs due to the collapsing grocery store and restaurant industries, as well as rising costs of food production, spread of disease and extreme weather.

Eater: Why Restaurants Can’t Always Fire Chefs Accused of Sexual Misconduct

Arkansas: Food Giant shutting down its grocery store in Osceola, when the inventory is gone, local news media was not able to get an explanation from corporate.

Arizona: In Tucson, after only two years restaurant Stray Dogs shutdown with only hours notice to employees, it was quietly sold-off.   In Chandler, after eight years El Palacio Mexican Restaurant and Cantina shutdown: “…eight years of my life trying to make the restaurant profitable using all the means at my disposal…..has never translated into enough new customers to support us.”-facebook video post

California: As many as 90% of students in the Twin Rivers Unified School District are living in poverty, now the federal government charging three school workers of stealing taxpayer funded USDA food meant for those poor students!   Cities in the leftist liberal fascist Golden State have been passing anti-homeless people laws under the guise of fighting the Hep A outbreak.  The laws ban people from publicly sharing food!  In El Cajon 12 people were ticketed by cops for feeding homeless people!  Evil Albertsons owned Safeway shutdown its grocery store in West Sacramento, on West Capitol Avenue, due to lack of profits. In Bakersfield, after five years Flame Burger forced to shutdown Due to an unresolvable dispute with our landlord….”   California Dairies shutting down its 92 years (surviving The Great Depression and numerous recessions) old Los Banos operations, 63 jobs gone by March.  It’s blamed on “…reduced milk volumes [statewide], combined with the high cost of operating our Los Banos facility..”  In Ridgecrest, after ten years restaurant Grape Leaf shutdown.  In La Quinta, after only two years Jule’s Market shutdown, local news media say it’s the third grocery store in La Quinta to shutdown since 2014. The owner of Jule’s Market says sales just aren’t high enough to cover skyrocketing rent and utilities.  Dr. Bob’s Donut Cafe (aka Dr. Bob’s Donuts & DoYos) suddenly shutdown its Roseville location and canceled plans to build a bigger store in Folsom. It might be because the vegan hemp (weaker cousin of marijuana) bakery was mightily expensive, some social media comments saying two DoYos were $10, another comment said “DO NOT EXPECT TOO MUCH FLAVOR IF YOU ARE NOT VEGAN”Dr. Bob’s website seems to still be functioning, so maybe you can still buy their special baking mixes online.  In Orinda, after 31 years the Village Inn Cafe shutdown, one of the co-owners saying “I’m tired.”  Los Angeles based Eclipse Berry Farms-Rosalyn Farms-Harvest Moon Strawberry Farms now chapter 11 bankrupt busted due to more than $50-million USD of debt.  Los Angeles based Pabst Brewing suddenly eliminated 70 positions “…in order to reduce complexity, cut costs, simplify priorities, and reallocate resources…” San Diego based Green Flash Brewing halting sales in as many as 32 U.S. states, and suddenly laid off 33 people saying “The market is nothing like it was 2 years ago, 5 years ago, 15 years ago….it remains to be seen whether we can survive as an independent brewery.”  TGI Friday’s issued a shutdown WARN for its Oxnard location, 41 jobs gone by the end of March.  Tyson Foods issued a layoff  WARN for its chicken plucking ops in San Diego, 79 jobs gone mid-March. In Orange, King’s Fish House shutting down in March, 80 jobs gone supposedly temporarily.

Colorado:  In Canon City, after 45 years Hilltop Market shutdown, the owners said “We have decided that it’s time to adapt or die” so they’re converting to a ‘wild game’ meat processing operation.  In Colorado Springs, after less than three years Texas based Taco Bueno suddenly shutdown all five restaurants! They were the only Taco Buenos in the state, local news media say restaurant managers/employees got no warning or explanation.  Taco Bueno’s Lone Star State administrators would only say the shutdowns are part of a plan “to focus on strategic growth”.  Also in Colorado Springs, after 42 years Sunbird Mountain Grill & Tavern shutting down in February, the owners sense things aren’t going to get any better saying “We want to end on a high note”.  In Fort Collins, after 39 years Bisetti’s Ristorante shutdown, so the owners can retire.  Greenwood Village based Red Robin Gourmet Burgers eliminating more than 6-hundred table busser jobs in states that jacked-up the minimum wage!

Hawaii: After 48 years Agnes’ Portuguese Bake Shop, in Kailua, shutdown.

Idaho:  ‘Christian’ Gem State lawmakers supporting a bill that will expand the use of taxpayer funded prisoners in the agriculture industry!  According to Financial Condition of Idaho Agriculture federal taxpayer subsidies to Idaho farmers fell by 44% in 2017. Yeah that’s right, farmers are the biggest recipients of government ‘welfare’ in the U.S. of A., plus they use taxpayer supported legal and illegal immigrant workers, and now prisoners!  I complain a lot about immigrant workers (only because it’s become so hard for U.S. working class citizens to find stable work), but I also know from first hand observation in California strawberry fields (Santa Maria), and Arizona potato fields (Yuma), that migrants workers are also screwed-over.  A study by Blue Review reveals that migrant farm workers in southwestern Idaho have a hard time getting food for their families, despite the high value of some of the crops they harvest. It also reveals Idaho’s true population growth (as I’ve been saying in other articles) is coming from migrant farm workers, U.S. citizens are actually leaving the state!  Welcome to globalization; the Idaho Dairymen’s Association upset that milk prices are down, yet happy that hay prices are down was well, due to a global excess supply of both.  In American Falls, rumors that ConAgra spin-off Lamb Weston is hiring, however, some employees told me that what’s really happening is that Lamb Weston is outsourcing the overnight shift!

Illinois:  Restaurant owners now joining customers in accusing Arlington Heights based restaurant.com of fraud.  The Better Business Bureau (BBB) gave the website an F grade.  After seven years Barn & Company barbecue shutting down the day after the Super Bowl, it’s being replaced by a nasty meatless eatery.   In Percy, after 35 years Pioneer’s Cabin shutting down, the building up for sale.  The owners claim they’ll open a new restaurant when they find a suitable location. In Urbana, after 20 years restaurant Milo’s shutting down by the end of February, because the landlord found a new tenant willing to pay higher rent.   Flying Machine Coffee shutting down its four years old Urbana location in March.  In the same building, Pizza M restaurant being forced to move. The owners of Pizza M and Flying Machine Coffee blame it on the landlord who’s bringing in tenants that can pay more rent: “Rent more than doubled since we’ve been here.”-Matt Kitzmiller, Pizza M owner

“After four years of being part of a growing downtown Urbana, it turns out I had less bargaining chips than I thought I did. It’s a shame, but we are just no longer welcome…”-Josh Lucas, Flying Machine Coffee owner on facebook

“I was charging obscenely below-market rents for the first two years. Then, yes, rent technically doubled.”-Matt Cho, landlord

Indiana: Coca Cola eliminating 15 jobs in Terre Haute, as part of its plan to abandon warehouse ops and go with ‘just in time delivery’ (drop lot distribution).  The former owner of the now dead Rails Craft Brew & Eatery chain under arrest for fraud and corruption. One of the accusations is that he was writing bad checks from one restaurant to cover bills (including employee paychecks) at another restaurant.  In Indianapolis, after less than a year Broken Beaker Distillery shutdown.

Debbie and Harry (get it? Debbie Harry) Zombie, pic by Doug Tobin

Minnesota: In Roseville, after 19 years Maverick’s Real Roast Beef suddenly shutdown, no explanation on the facebook page. In Wadena, after 18 years Cyber Cafe shutdown.  It was revealed that only subsidies (funding) from the local community, and government, kept it in operation, sales alone are not enough to cover operating cost. The owner also revealed competition from ever advancing social media technology played a major role in killing them off.

Missouri: In Saint Louis, after 15 years Wasabi shutdown, the owners claim it’s because they outgrew the space and will reopen when the find a bigger location.

New York: In Manhattan-NYC, after 33 years Coogan’s shutdown due to a massive $40-thousand USD per month increase in rent by the ‘christian’ owners of the property (New York Presbyterian Hospital)! North Carolina: In Durham, Scratch Bakery shutting down in February, due to many changes in the city and the owner’s life.  Food service contractor Compass Group USA laying off five people on April Fool’s Day.

Ohio:  Popeye’s suddenly shutdown its Newark chicken joint, falsely blaming it on a bad location, nevermind that it was behind on state tax payments (state tax records show the license to operate was suspended).   Ted’s Montana Grill shutting down its 15 years old Columbus’ Arena District location.  Claddagh Irish Pub & Restaurant suddenly shutdown its Franklin Park Mall location, 35 jobs gone due to not being able to renew the lease.   In Columbus, after ten years Three Dog Bakery shutdown because the greedy landlord jacked-up the rent: “There was a major increase that unfortunately, I’m not going to be able to sustain. It’s over 10%. I feel like I started here at a really good time ten years ago and helped grow the community. I know with big development also landlords are allowed to charge more and get bigger name companies that can pay more rent. Unfortunately, it’s happening in this neighborhood and it’s happened to me…”-Susan Gates

Oklahoma: In Oklahoma City, Kaiser’s Grateful Bean Cafe shutdown due to the city’s $131-million USD public transportation project, which has killed 80% of the restaurant’s business.  Coca Cola shutting down its bottling ops in Okmulgee, and reducing operations in Oklahoma City, 246 jobs gone!   The January wheat crop conditions reported as 79% Poor to Very Poor.

Christian Science Monitor: How cattle rustling and drugs are roiling rural America

Oregon: This happen every decade, some farmer trying to make money off ostriches.  Central Oregon Ostrich is the latest victim, I mean member of the ‘sustainable’ meat industry involving the long necked flightless birds (this ostrich farming thing has been ongoing since the 1970s, and just like the bird, has failed to take off).  In Klamath Falls, after only four months restaurant Apatite shutdown, blaming lack of sales!   In Portland, after 55 years not one but two Original Taco House restaurants shutdown without warning to anybody.  It was revealed that the family owners had been trying to quietly sell the restaurants, without success, so they just gave up: “Blindsided, completely blindsided. I had no idea that it was going to be closing, and now I don’t have a job, so it’s not a good way to ring in the new year!”-Faith Chaffee, employee

Pennsylvania: In New Castle, Twenty Six Bar & Grill suddenly shutdown, the owner blaming a growing imbalance of family versus business.   Houlihan’s shutdown its 37 years old Station Square location, saying it’s no longer profitable.  Grocer Giant Eagle shutting down its Old William Penn Highway location by February, 50 jobs lost due to the fact there is a larger Giant Eagle just two miles away.  In Erie, popular Summer House Cafe shutdown.  France based food service contractor Sodexo continues killing U.S. jobs, this time 450 jobs gone due to losing a contract with UPMC Pinnacle Health System!   Eat’n Park Hospitality Group shutting down its 12 years old Six Penn Kitchen restaurant in Pittsburgh’s Cultural District, by February, blaming “ever-growing competition”.  View Lancaster County’s restaurant inspection results.

Vermont: Panera Bread shutdown its six years old store on Church Street in Burlington, with only a couple days warning. Apparently the landlord found another business that’s willing to pay more rent.  Also, Bruegger’s Bagels shutdown its decades old Church Street location, maybe due to the company being taken-over by JAB Holding Company.

Virginia: Walmart Neighborhood Markets shutdown its Roanoke location, Walmart claims it ‘absorbed’ the 75 employees into other Walmart stores (nevermind that Walmart is killing thousands of jobs by April).  In Williamsburg, after 25 years the Pepperidge Farm store shutdown, supposedly because the company has gotten more efficient at mass production of baked goods. In Richmond, 7 Hills Brewing shutdown its restaurant in Shockoe Slip, possibly due to rent problems. In Newport News, after less than two years Jim’s Local Market suddenly shutdown due to lack of profit making sales.   Henrico restaurant report.

Washington:  In Gig Harbor, after only two years Kroger shutdown its ‘experimental’ Main & Vine store two weeks after Xmas, claiming all the employees were ‘offered’ jobs at other Kroger stores.  Kroger didn’t announce the shutdown until the day after Xmas!  The Tattered Apron Bakery shutdown both its South Hill and Puyallup locations due to too many debts, the owners warning future eatery operators saying “We grew too fast. We did everything that a new business shouldn’t do. We had so many irons in the fire. … We thought that was great….”

Washington DC:  ‘Celebrity chef’ owned Marcus National Harbor restaurant failed in its MGM National Harbor casino location, MGM says it will replace will another restaurant.  After two decades Cafe Ole shutdown because the property is being redeveloped.   After two years restaurant Drift on 7th shutdown.   After only a few months Bold Bite Market shutdown!

It’s time for someone else to pick up the ball.”-Ken Balkin, current co-owner

…..So I could also get a — a sense for how we’re doing with this Singaporean Air Force that keeps some of its force here in the states where they have enough room to fly, maneuver, and of course gain the interoperability with the U.S. Air Force.”James N. “closed indefinitely”: Idaho’s Continued Economic Destruction, 2017

Incomplete list of economic related events in the U.S. Gem State of Idaho, 2017.

January: In the overwhelmingly christian (Mormon) dominated south eastern part of The Gem State, some christians actually campaigned against Pastor Jacqualine ‘Big Momma’ Thomas’ planned homeless shelter in Pocatello! After a local Muslim doctor started the financial ball rolling in favor of the homeless shelter (waking up true local Christians who had money to donate), a group of christians went to the city council to point out that the Sublette Street property was not zoned for “transitional housing”.  The Mormon dominated city promptly revoked the temporary operating permit.  Pastor Big Momma commented to local news media that she’s taking this as a sign that god has a better location in mind.

February: Burley based King’s Variety continues its slow death spiral, announcing it will continue shutting down stores.  King’s is down to just 19 stores across six states: “The retail climate has radically changed in the past decade….Brick and mortar stores need feet and faces to survive as we have salaries, rents and other costs to cover. Unfortunately for us that is not the current landscape.”

For some reason the state Department of Labor sat on a WARN from Pocatello based call center operator Mountain West Research, until February 2017.   The notice is dated October 2016 and reveals that 194 people lost their jobs (the state Dept. of Labor listing doesn’t say when the layoffs actually took place)!  Just in case I missed something I checked local news media reports and found nothing about this huge, and apparently sudden layoff.  It’s not the first time the company suddenly killed jobs, Mountain West Research did the same thing in Idaho Falls, back in 2012,  but that mass layoff got the attention of the local news media (I wonder why the Pokey layoffs were missed?).  The Pocatello Mountain West Research location on 675 Yellowstone Avenue is currently listed as available for rent by Premier Properties, however, its website is still up-and-running and lists an address of 1110 Yellowstone Avenue.

March: Vanity went bankrupt dead, shutting down all 137 stores across 27 U.S. states, including stores in Chubbuck, Idaho Falls, Boise, Coeur d’Alene and Twin Falls.

Ammo maker Federal Cartridge (Federal Premium Ammunition) suddenly furloughed 1-hundred employees at its Lewiston factory, blaming hunters and Donald Trump: “…we experienced a challenging retail environment due in part to a weak hunting season and the outcome of the 2016 presidential election.”

As I warned back in 2016, Islamic extremist U.S. ally Saudi Arabia’s funding cuts to Idaho State University (ISU, in Pocatello) could result in layoffs. Local news media reporting that ISU is dealing with a $12-million USD shortfall and the loss of 35% of its Middle Eastern students!  ISU admin warned of layoffs if state taxpayers aren’t forced to make up the funding difference!  (Related: SAUDI ARABIA TAKES OVER TEXAS OIL SUPPLY & SOUTHEAST U.S. FUEL SALES!)

Also in Pocatello, after six years Element Outfitters shutting down soon, the owners are focusing on their other retail operations saying “We’re just consolidating and becoming a lot more efficient”.  They told local news media that while their brick-n-mortar-store sales have flat-lined their internet sales are “growing strongly.”

After 17 years Affinity, one of the largest mental health services provider in the Boise area, was shutdown following a raid by the IRS. Hundreds of employees now unemployed and at least 8-hundred patients with nowhere to go.  Local news media reported that the federal Internal Revenue Service has yet to explain the raid.

Burley based King’s Variety shutdown its 14 years old, and recently remodeled, store in Orofino.  Local news media now say all remaining 21 stores will shutdown.   Dollar Express issued a shutdown WARN for its Emmett store, due to the sudden takeover by Dollar General.     In Idaho Falls, after 20 years Park Avenue Antique Mall shutdown, the owners were forced to retire after an ice-jam caused water damage to the building, and they don’t have enough money to fix it and maintain their retail business.   However, since they own the building they hope to find a sucker, I mean people who’ll want to rent it.  In the same area, The Collective Cache shutdown, the building is being renovated for a retail business that’s moving from The Grand Teton Mall to the former Collective Cache location.

Idaho’s U.S. Senators Jim Risch and Mike Crapo (along with David Perdue of Georgia) reintroduced a bill that would make labor strikes at U.S. ports illegal, for the benefit of foreign companies: “By qualifying the ‘slowdown’ tactic as an unfair labor practice, this bill will ensure businesses can continue to import and export their goods…..:”

April:  In Nampa,  after 44 years the Yesteryear Shoppe shutdown due to eviction after the lease was canceled.  The owner of the shop blamed his crashing revenues on radically changing trends.

Georgia based payment processor TSYS (Total SYstem Services) laying off 64 people as it shuts down its operations in Boise, in an effort to “focus to our business model.”  Also in Boise, Marvell Semiconductor laying off 23 people in June.

Sears Holdings announced that the Coeur d’Alene Kmart will shutdown in October.

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services shows that almost 40% of Idahoans have ‘pre-existing’ medical conditions that would prevent them from getting health insurance.  The Washington based franchise owner of Positive Changes Hypnosis Centers, ET Research, went bankrupt and shutdown its Boise office without warning.  The parent company in Iowa said ET Research was in so much debt they owed money to 1-thousand-2-hundred creditors!   A Rexburg woman had her insurance license revoked by state officials after she filed false medical claims.

An estimated 100 million pounds of spoiled onions have been disposed of in Idaho and Oregon following a winter of unprecedented snowfall.

Eastern Idaho potato growers are at least a week behind normal, and even further behind compared to their early starts the past two seasons.

May:  In Boise, after 45 years of six to ten hour days, six days per week, the surviving co-owner of Bow Wow Auto Parts shutting it down so she can retire.  After seven years non-profit glass recycler Usful Glassworks shutdown due to lack of funding/donations.   The Idaho Wine Commission is accusing the city of Boise of intentionally restricting the issuing of booze permits for public events.  It started last year when the city switched to issuing only one catering permit per event.  The result is that many area wineries are refusing to take part in Boise events: “As a consequence of this, we no longer…. participate in events in Boise.”-Earl Sullivan, Telaya Wine Company

Despite mormon dominated Pocatello City Council, and the Bonneville Neighborhood Association, denying her request to open a homeless shelter Pastor Jacqualine ‘Big Momma’ Thomas is still at it!  Thomas claims the new undisclosed property she’s considering is zoned residential/commercial, so there shouldn’t be a problem from ‘christian’ dominated organizations who don’t think homelessness is a problem in the Pocatello area.  Also, she just won Ms Idaho Senior Citizen!

After decades the Chubbuck Pizza Hut joined a sibling Pocatello Pizza Hut in being suddenly shutdown

After decades the Chubbuck Pizza Hut joined a sibling Pocatello Pizza Hut in being suddenly shutdown

After years of negative customer reviews one of two Pocatello Pizza Huts quietly shutdown, as did the Pizza Hut in Chubbuck.  Both shuttered Pizza Huts were repainted olive green and are now for sale.  The owners decided to ‘consolidate’ their three Pizza Hut locations into one location in Pocatello, code for saying they weren’t making enough profits to justify all three locations.

Because of more than a decade of drought Idaho ‘lawmakers’ came up with a law changing how state controlled aquifers are recharged, now they’re claiming success as recharging efforts resulted in more than expected water capture.  However, the new law involves taxpayers paying independent canal operators to divert their water into state aquifers.  Under complicated water access ‘rights’ laws the state of Idaho is limited to how much water it can collect for its aquifers, but, by paying canal operators the state can get around the access limit.

Idaho is incorrectly known as the potato state even though potatoes are not its biggest ag product (the myth is perpetuated by the potato industry and the state government), beef is usually the biggest money making ag product in Idaho. Then  there’s fishing.  Anglers from around the U.S. come to Idaho to fish but this year the Spring chinook season was shutdown early due to low numbers of the salmon: “….we are still very concerned regarding our ability to collect brood stock for future hatchery releases. In addition, returns of natural chinook salmon in the Salmon River are far below expected and are likely to fall below the level needed for incidental hook and release mortality within those fisheries.”-Brett Bowersox, Idaho Department of Fish and Game

Insurance company BridgeSpan announced it will exit The Gem State’s ObamaCare system in 2018, due to lack of profits and “uncertainty and instability for the exchanges”.

God was completely powerless to stop ‘his’ LDS-mormon ‘elected’ U.S. congressman Raúl Rafael Labrador (now running for gov’na of Idaho) from stating “Nobody dies because they don’t have access to healthcare.”  I personally know somebody (the mother of my children) who died because she was refused access to healthcare, and she had insurance!

June:  At the beginning of 2017 it was revealed that ‘fake news’ Idaho republicans made a secret deal with Amazon to impose an internet sales tax on any Idahoan who buys online!   The Idaho Tax Commission reports that so far there’s been no significant increase in tax revenues as a result!  (more proof internet retail sales are not to blame for low brick-n-mortar sales, it’s the whole economy that’s crashing)

July:

No more "well loved by customers" pawn shop on Yellowstone Avenue, Pocatello, Idaho.

It was discovered that 50 years old, ‘well loved by customers’ (according to Facebook postings) Shamrock Rare Coins (aka Amy’s Shamrock Coins) pawn shop in Pocatello secretly shutdown, even the official website is offline.   Mitt Romney co-founded wunderkind Staples announced it will shutdown its Pocatello store in August, falsely blaming “customers” for shopping online. (Karen Edwards, instructor at University of South Carolina’s College of Hospitality Retailing and Sport Management, stated to local news media that internet sales make up only 10%-15% of all U.S. retail sales!  And by the way, Staples sells online!)

A freedom of information request by Times-News-magicvalley.com revealed that U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) is considering Jerome as the site of a new taxpayer funded immigrant prison!   It’s the result of ICE losing access to a 3-hundred bed prison in Utah.  ICE is hoping to use the existing Jerome County Detention Center, and expand it by 60 beds.  The Times-News estimated it would cost U.S. taxpayers $1.4-million USD per year to operate an immigrant prison in Idaho.  Another newspaper, Spokesman-Review, reported that hundreds of Idahoans are protesting the plans for an immigrant prison in their backyard.

U.S. Department of Agriculture National Agricultural Statistics Service reported that Gem State winter wheat and hay harvests are nearly a month early, due to climate change.

A major screw-up resulted in the closing Coeur d’Alene Kmart getting a big shipment of ‘blank’ American Apparel-Supreme branded t-shirts.  Shoppers were able to re-sell the t-shirts on ebay, until Kmart realized what was going on and removed the labels from the remaining inventory.   In Lewiston, the Sears Hometown is for sale because the franchise owners say they can’t afford to renew the license to operate it.

Another year, another insurance increase, this time the greedy health insurance companies want a 38% jump (and that’s the average, some will be higher) in premiums paid by all you happy taxpayers!  More proof The Gem State’s version of ObamaCare is a failure; in Idaho Falls the Community Family Clinic (for people with no ObamaCare insurance) is dealing with an increase in patient volume, and as such is expanding their operations for uninsured people: “The new building will be three times the size of the one we’re in now and will provide more access for patients to come in and be seen.”-Arnold Cantu, administrator

August:

This the Chubbuck, Idaho, Walmart. Consumer Reports ranked Walmart 67th out of 68!

Chubbuck, Idaho, Walmart blames skyrocketing crime for halting 24 hours operations!

The Walmart in Chubbuck has joined other Walmarts around the U.S. in ceasing its 24 hours of being open to the public.  This comes after months of using contracted security guards to try and stop skyrocketing shoplifting.  Walmart claims the use of security guards was able to stop the theft of about $20-thousand USD worth of merchandise in just one week.  Even recent transplant to Chubbuck, Nancy Hurley, says crime has skyrocketed in the tiny (about 14-thousand people according to recent Census Bureau data, down from 18-thousand in late 1990s) east Idaho city: “When we first moved here about 12 years ago, there seemed to be very little crime, but now it’s really picked up with the drugs and the shoplifting and stuff, so it is concerning.”-interviewed by KPVI

Bye bye, Pocatello Meineke!

Blind Bat News reader ‘Catherine’ discovered the less than three years old Meineke auto repair shop, near the Westwood Mall in Pocatello, secretly shutdown.  Just ten months ago a local news paper declared the Meineke repair shop “ranked among the best performing franchises in the nation” with the “seventh best net sales-volume in the nation.”   ‘Catherine’ reported there was a note taped to the door apologizing for the sudden shutdown, but no reason for it was given.

In the sparsely populated town of Oldtown, after 23 years Ben Franklin Variety (formerly a Sprouse-Reitz prior to the 1990s) shutdown.  The now former store manager told local news media their busiest day was the last day of business.  Clothier Filson issued a shutdown WARN for its store in Post Falls, 45 jobs gone by the end of October.

“Effective immediately” the state Department of Labor Director Ken Edmunds resigned.  It could be the result of a former Labor Department employee suing the department because his personal cell phone was illegally searched! It turns out the former employee was a whistle-blower trying to save taxpayer dollars by revealing the Department of Labor was violating state purchasing laws and wasting government resources (for which he was fired, firing an employee for revealing the truth is a violation of federal law).  However, Right to Work (you over) ‘christian’ gov’na Butch Otter swears his Labor Department director did not resign over the federal lawsuit.

Canyon County reporting a record number of people being detained on ‘involuntary mental health holds’.  They set a record in July of 123 people on mental health holds, at a cost to taxpayers of $153-thousand USD.  Canyon County is now demanding state leaders spend more money building a new crisis center in their county.  So far the state is spending several millions of tax dollars on four crisis centers throughout The Gem State.

In Nampa, state investigators accusing Southwest Idaho Treatment Center of abusing seven adult residents.  Six employees involved, two directly abusing the patients, the other four knew about it but did nothing to stop it or report it.  They are now unemployed.   The state Department of Insurance made it official and publicly released the now annual proposed ObamaCare-ACA insurance rate increases for 2018.  All ‘plans’ will go up, but the ‘Silver Plan’ will be jacked by a whopping average of 50% (one insurance provider, PacificSource Health, is skyrocketing their Silver rates by 81%)!  Employers are pissed: “There’s one thing if it was increases and the coverage was better.  The problem is……the coverage is getting less, so now I’m paying a lot for a little, and that’s a hard one to swallow.”-Shawn Lund, CFO Steel West

10 former Idaho State University athletes threatened to retract $80-thousand USD in donations if the university president and the athletic director don’t resign, because “…we believe the state of ISU athletics is at an all-time low. When comparing ISU to its Big Sky peers, it’s easy to see that ISU is at the bottom of the league in facilities. Coaches’ pay, fundraising efforts and competitive records for revenue sports are also among the worst in the Big Sky Conference.”   Then suddenly, without warning, ISU president Arthur Vailas resigned!  Officially he said he was “retiring”.  ISU also reported that ‘preliminary’ overall enrollment is down for the Fall Semester, again, despite Freshman enrollment being up by about 2-hundred.

In Twin Falls County somebody is shooting livestock.  In the past month two Llamas were killed, as well as a cattle rancher’s prize bull and heifer. A railroad track runs along the properties where the killings took place (somebody shooting from a train?).  In Bonneville County somebody shot and killed eight cows, leaving their bodies to rot, the local Sheriff believes they’ll find more dead cows.

In Idaho Falls, after 20 years Sarah’s Candy Cottage announced on Facebook that they must shutdown due to being “bought out”.

September: The Gem State’s wheat crop is down 5% over the past five years, but the quality is higher than ever.  State officials are also boasting of a multi-million USD deal with Republic of China (Taiwan) for Idaho wheat.  This might be good news for Idaho farmers but it means less of the grain available for the domestic U.S. market, which could drive prices for U.S. consumers up.

In Mormon dominated Jefferson School District 251 parents demanded George Orwell’s 1984 be banned for its sexual content. After an even bigger outcry from those who objected to such a violation of the U.S. 1st Amendment, school administrators stated “…it is simply not true that 1984 has been banned at Rigby High School.”  State law requires that high schools help students develop a four years plan to prep for college, but an investigation by East Idaho News says it ain’t happening. Counselors admitted they don’t have the staffing or financial resources to comply with state law.

IdahoEdNews reporting that the number of new teacher hires who do not have a teaching degree is at record highs, due to the fact there is a massive teacher shortage in The Gem State.

Some of Idaho’s ObamaCare Your Health Idaho board members are questioning the state’s decision to hire ‘christian’ Saint Luke’s Health System to ‘help’ people pick an ObamaCare insurance plan.  Not only is the state using taxpayer dollars to pay Saint Luke’s but Saint Luke’s could directly benefit as one of the ObamaCare-ACA insurance providers is directly connected to Saint Luke’s (SelectHealth).  Tennessee based RCCH HealthCare Partners suddenly laid off 62 people at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, as a result of the ‘christian’ Lewiston hospital being taken over by RCCH in May.  State government to get $438-thousand USD as a result of the EpiPen Medicaid rebate scandal.  I wonder what they’ll do with the money?

While the state’s Department of Labor boasts record low unemployment numbers, and despite some rural counties reporting record low population numbers, the U.S. Census Bureau is reporting record numbers of homeless people in the sparsely populated Gem State and it’s only going up!  Also, a state run homeless Point-In-Time counting program claims a 10% drop in homeless people since 2016, but the Vice President of Housing and Support Programs, Brady Ellis, admits “We believe there’s a considerable number of more homeless individuals…..a lot of variables there in terms of identifying them and being able to include them in the numbers we use.”  It should also be noted that the Point-In-Time homeless survey counts only those people who are willing to answer the survey questions.   East Idaho News recently conducted an experiment to see how beggars were being treated in eastern Idaho.

After years of claiming the economy was growing, and denying there was a growing homeless problem, and of treating homeless people like criminals to be rounded up and put in ‘concentration camps’, and despite officially record low unemployment numbers, the city of Boise, students at Boise State University, and Ada County, are relenting and spending millions of taxpayer and donor dollars building first ever dedicated homeless services called Our Path Home and New Path Community Housing!  And in a No-Shit-Sherlock! moment a homeless advocate admitted that past homeless policies, which basically criminalized people for being homeless, failed to stop homelessness“Though we were well-intentioned, we as a community were retraumatizing the same population we were trying to help. It’s a very traumatic process to be, let’s say, discharged from a hospital to an emergency shelter, to putting your name on maybe 13 waiting lists around the county, to having to retell your story 13 times, to not being sure when your name next comes up on the list.”-Wyatt Schroeder, CATCH of Ada County

Despite ‘elected’ leaders constantly claiming growth in the state, the population in the Clark County is officially crashing and burning.  The U.S. Census Bureau ranks Clark County among the 15 most sparsely populated counties in the United States at only one person for every two square miles!  The population has been declining since 2000 (which, as I’ve written before, is when the economy went south for Idaho, and has yet to recover), and is expected to continue declining (there’s only 860 people currently in the county).  Declining local populations are another reason why state leaders are accepting additional federal bribes, I mean funding to take in immigrants and refugees at record numbers.

Crashing local population numbers might be one reason Idaho leaders are boasting record low unemployment numbers!

The Gem State’s worsening problem with its foster care Guardians ad Litem (GaL) program resulted in the legislature increasing taxpayer funding by 75% (most GaLs are private volunteer organizations), and it made national news with U.S. News & World Report.

A lawsuit by Shoshone-Bannock Tribes revealed that chemical company FMC stopped paying for the storage of hazardous waste on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation (known as Eastern Michaud Flats Superfund site).  FMC paid the fees until suddenly tearing down its chemical factory and abandoning the site in 2002, yet continued to store hazardous waste there.  A federal court ruled FMC owes the tribe $19.5-million USD.

More shenanigans for Idaho’s prison system after a man arrested for driving intoxicated was put into a cell with a convicted mass-murderer.  Yep, the mass-murderer killed the drunk guy!

The new owner of the only funeral home in Valley County discovered that the former county coroner was ‘disappearing’ the bodies of locals who recently died.  Eventually an investigation by Idaho State Police was launched.  However the new owner of the funeral home said this “We were getting calls from families wanting to know where their loved ones were. I didn’t have any clue where the bodies were…..    He was keeping the bodies at his home in the coroner’s truck….”   Apparently the former coroner, Nathan Hess, was selling the bodies in Boise because he’s been charged with “using public position for personal gain”.

For the third time in a row another sudden resignation of a public official, this time over sexual harassment and even “violence”.  It was revealed that in August that the Controller’s Office Chief of Staff Dan Goicoechea suddenly resigned after an investigation was launched into claims by a state employee of “sexual advancements”and “threats of violence” by Goicoechea. The employee said she was not the only one threatened and that such acts had been ongoing with other employees before she was hired.  What’s also interesting is that state government officials waited a month before revealing the resignation.

Another ‘elected’ official revealed to be lying, this time about her residency status.  From 2010 to 2016 Priscilla Giddings claimed residency in Ada County, according to property tax records, yet she was elected as the state representative for Idaho County in 2016.  State law says you must reside in the county you want to represent for at least one year before running for state office.  State law also says you can claim property tax exemption only for the home you live in.

October: Something to cry over, onion crop yields in Idaho and Oregon are 30% smaller compared to last year, resulting in less of a supply, causing a doubling of prices for consumers (50 pound bag yellow onions now averaging $10, last year it was $5.50).  The smaller harvest is blamed on the weather.

The biggest electric utility company in The Gem State, Idaho Power, is demanding customers fork-over $220-million USD to pay for a new hydroelectric dam on the border with Oregon!

Medicare Health Plans ranked Gem State doctors as the most overworked in the United States!  Idaho is ranked in 49th place for number of doctors available to the general public.  The state Department of Insurance claims worker comp insurance rates for employers will drop by 5.8% in 2018.   Idahoans on Medicare part D will pay the highest national average premium for their doctor issued drugs; $65.52.  Safe Haven Health Care issued a WARN, 117 jobs in Pocatello and Chubbuck gone by November!

In Pocatello, ON Semiconductor got a $335-thousand USD state taxpayer funded grant to create five new jobs.  But most of the grant money will actually go towards retraining existing employees.  Taxpayers continue funding the ongoing FBI data center project in Pocatello.  The project started a year and a half ago, but only now had an official groundbreaking ceremony (last year ignorant local news media said the project would be done by now).  The Federal Bureau of Investigation says it’ll be one of three such ‘core enterprise facilities’ in the U.S., which are meant to save taxpayers money by consolidating existing data centers (less operating costs, including less people) and by using the so called cloud.

Idaho taxpayer funded France based public transportation contractor Transdev-Valley Regional Transit-ValleyRide issued a WARN, 102 Boise jobs gone in November!  American Falls getting a state taxpayer funded grant of $20-thousand USD to fix-up its water system, however, city taxpayers still have to come up with an additional $20-thousand.  Iona City wants to issue $3.9-billion USD in bonds (debt that has to be paid back by all you happy taxpayers) to improve its water system, which will cause water bills to go up by $19 per month (I live in the city of Chubbuck and they issued so many bonds, most without our knowledge, that our basic [not counting the per thousand gallon water use rate] water/trash bills went from $39 per month in the late 1990s to almost $1-hundred now!  And they recently issued another $3-million in bonds for “property improvement” projects, which we taxpayers have to eventually payoff!).

U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) survey reports that one in four Gem State high school students are bullied, prescription drug abuse is up and that teen suicide contemplation is at a ten years high!  The local economy is so bad that marching band students at Pocatello High School couldn’t afford to pay the mandatory fees and had to turn to a GoFundMe operation so they could attend competitions (a far cry from when my eldest daughter was a proud Pokey marching band member, and we could barely afford the fees then)!  Speaking of bad economies, eleven cash-strapped schools got federal USDA taxpayer funded grant money for much needed new kitchen equipment.  Also, 120 cash-strapped schools on the eastern side of the state took part in a pathetic ‘two-day five-minute’ Idaho Lottery scratcher contest, it was the largest act of desperation, I mean scratcher contest to date!   Dietrich School District quietly settle a boy-on-boy sexual assault and racism lawsuit.  One football player was sexually attacked by three other football players in the high school locker room in 2015.  The details of the settlement are currently sealed in federal court.

The South Fork Archery Range being for forced to shutdown because the city of Idaho Falls is refusing to renew the lease, local news reports say the city owned electrical utility is planning to use the land for a substation.    In Bannock County the Sheriff is again begging cash-strapped taxpayers to agree to fork-over $16-million USD to expand the prison, due to prison overcrowding in the Mormon dominated county.   While Bannock County struggles with prison overcrowding, Ada County (home of the state capital Boise) was awarded a MacArthur Foundation’s Safety and Justice Challenge $1-million USD grant to shape up its ‘criminal justice’ system.  The piddly grant will create eight new jobs to combat the skyrocketing prison population. The Gem State has yet to comply with the federal police-state Homeland Security on issuing federally tracked Real-IDs, however, the state Department of Transportation announced it will begin doing so in 2018, so get ready to fork-over some big bucks so Big Brother can track you!  For the second month in a row another state official resigned without warning, this time Republican Brandon Hixon suddenly resigned after it was revealed he was under criminal investigation by Caldwell Police, supposedly for sex crimes.

November: In Rexburg, after 46 years Targhee Sports shutting down in January 2018, as well as Duck Creek Pawn, the co-owners of the stores blame a “bad business deal” that’s forcing them to sell the land the stores are on.

Sears Holdings announced the Kmart in Ammon will shutdown in January 2018.

After 28 years in Chubbuck, it was revealed that restaurant Taquiera La Costa suddenly shutdown because the immigrant owner failed to become a legal resident/citizen and had to move back to Mexico.  He swears he’ll be back when his ‘paperwork’ is approved.  In Pocatello, after eight years locally run restaurant Efresh-The Gathering Place suddenly shutdown, the owner blaming the sudden escalation in corporate big-box restaurants: “There were so many restaurants that came into town really quickly and people decided to go there and just being a local little business, we felt that hit.”-Emily Fisher, interviewed by KIFI

One month after issuing a mass-layoff WARN, the SafeHaven care center in Pocatello mysteriously burned to the ground.  The residents were evacuated, but the building is a $2-million USD loss.  Fire inspectors say the fire was not arson, but are calling for a review of national fire code.  The fire started in the attic of the building, apparently in an area where no fire sprinkler system was required under current national fire code.

Enrollment in public schools is slowing down, except where immigrants/refugee populations are on the increase, like in Twin Falls and Boise areas.  Even with immigrant/refugees coming into the state, this school year’s total statewide enrollments were only 581 higher than last year.

Clearwater Research issued a WARN, 101 jobs in Boise gone right after Xmas!

The pastor of Candlelight Christian Fellowship is endorsing the Mormon politician Raul Labrador.  Raúl Rafael Labrador once said “Nobody dies because they don’t have access to healthcare.”  Candlelight Christian Fellowship could face investigation by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for openly endorsing a political candidate, according to Robert Tuttle, professor of law and religion at George Washington University Law School.

Recently appointed (not elected) state-level senator from Idaho Falls, Tonny Potts, was revealed to have gone chapter 7 bankrupt busted back in March. Potts was appointed to his senator job by Right to Work (you over) gov’na Butch Otter in October.  Current state level representative Ryan Kerby got a slap-on-the-wrist for committing a criminal act while he was superintendent for School District 372 (aka New Plymouth School District).  According to the Professional Standards Commission’s reviewKerby “willfully or deliberately” submitted a falsified teacher qualification report.  Kerby can challenge the slap-on-the-wrist letter of reprimand.     More court proven cases of voter fraud as a man who lost his ‘right’ to vote (due to being on criminal probation) somehow voted in this month’s elections.  Ada County elections employees warning that the three years old taxpayer funded  Interstate Voter Registration Crosscheck Program doesn’t work, for a simple reason: “We learned the hard way that there are many people who share names and birth dates across the country.”-Phil McGrane, Ada County chief deputy clerk

The abandoned JJ North’s in 2013

December:  At the Pine Ridge Mall in Chubbuck, after about a decade of vacancy the old JJ North’s buffet restaurant was finally torn down.

Black Bear Diner, Chubbuck, IdahoWithout warning Black Bear Diner-Joby Management shutdown its less than two years old Chubbuck restaurant, telling local news media that if it wasn’t shutdown immediately they wouldn’t be able to issue final pay to the employees, as many as 57 jobs (depending on the local news source) suddenly gone one week before Xmas, a now pissed-off former employee Nathan Barney said “They called us in for a meeting at 8:30 this morning and told us they were closing the restaurant. They gave us unemployment papers and said Merry Christmas.”  Chubbuck Black Bear Diner no moreLocal news media speculated that there are too many restaurants in the area, including several other Joby Management owned restaurants. You can thank local politicians who’ve been enticing national chain restaurants to move into the area for several years now.

Suddenly shutdown the Wednesday before Xmas!

Suddenly shutdown the Wednesday before Xmas!

Also in Chubbuck, the local office of temporary employment agency Personnel Plus shutdown without warning just days before Xmas.  Sometime after Xmas a sign was posted saying it was “closed  indefinitely”

"Closed indefinitely"

“Closed indefinitely”

Insiders told me the temp agency suddenly lost all its Pocatello/Chubbuck area ’employer clients’, and that of all the Personnel Plus offices throughout Idaho the Chubbuck (officially, and incorrectly, referred to as their Pocatello) office was the only one that had consistent trouble finding temp work for its employees.

The Walmart in Ammon joined the Chubbuck Walmart in halting 24 hours operations, but the manager in Ammon told local news media it was part of a larger corporate plan to halt 24 hours store ops in order to save money.

California based clothier GAP shutting down its 15 years old Old Navy store in Twin Falls, in January 2018,  as part of a plan to shutdown 2-hundred stores.

The Huckleberry Jam Festival two day music event will not return for 2018, due to lack of attendance (organizers claim they’ll return when they’ve figured out how to actually make money off it).  One local news outlet pointed out that there were other music events going on around the same time, indicating that maybe there are too many music venues for sparsely populated Idaho.

The Gem State’s utility commision caved in and approved Idaho Power’s $220-million USD extortion of customers to pay for a new hydroelectric dam on the border with Oregon!

The state Board of Education now claims that the statewide teacher exodus is costing taxpayers $6.8-million USD!   IdahoEdNews revealed that a taxpayer funded program to trick high school students into going to college is a dismal failure“That’s a lot of money for something where we’ve not seen outcomes improve….”-state level Representative Wendy Horman, Idaho Falls

Your Health Idaho reports a 10% drop in ObamaCare-ACA enrollments for 2018, compared to 2017, despite an extended sign-up timeline and federal taxpayer subsidies.  In eastern Idaho, 15 doctors are taking a chance and building their own clinics in two locations, accusing the current healthcare system of failing the local population.   Healthcare is still so bad in Idaho prisons that one prisoner had to almost kill himself to get treatment for a flesh eating infection. He’s still alive but his leg was amputated.

More Decline: No more Xmas lights for Chubbuck? The truth about Gentrification

Xmas morn, Tahoe Place, Chubbuck, Idaho

Xmas morn, Tahoe Place, Chubbuck, Idaho

What’s wrong with this pic? Where are all the Xmas lights in the Cotant Park area of ‘christian’ dominated Chubbuck, Idaho?

About 15 years ago 90-95% of the homes around Cotant Park were blazing with Xmas decorations, now 90-95% are dim throughout the end-of-year holiday season.

Most people can’t afford the electric bill, and many residents today are recent arrivals with most of the neighborhood homes now being owned by absentee landlords.  About 15 years ago most of the homes were owned by the people living in them.  This is called gentrification.

The ‘elected’ leaders of Chubbuck, and neighboring Pocatello, constantly claim economic growth, this is because officially gentrification is considered a sign of growth.  According to Wikipedia: “Gentrification is a process of renovation of deteriorated urban neighborhoods by means of the influx of more affluent residents.”

In the United States home ownership was long touted as a sign of economic prosperity, but when most of the homes in your neighborhood become rental units you know the economy is in trouble.  The reality of gentrification, for most neighborhoods throughout the United States, is that rents get jacked-up so high that most Middle Class workers can barely afford to rent them (let alone buy them in competition with elite minority buyers whose sole purpose is to use them as rentals), belying the claim that the average American has become more ‘affluent’.

Here’s some more examples of Chubbuck Gentrification at the hands of ‘elected’ leaders: In 1997 (when I moved here) the deposit for city utilities was $30.  In Summer 2016 I was told by city employees it’s now $350, that’s a 1066% increase!

In the late 1990s the average residential basic water/sewer/trash rate (not including the per thousand gallons water usage rate) was $38 per month.  Now it’s about $98 per month, a 158% increase, and we got no improvement in services (in fact, one year we had to petition the city, twice, over sloppy trash collections)!

Things are only going to get more expensive as in 2017 the city started a Property Improvement Project paid for by $3-million USD in bonds (debt financing), which will be paid back by all you happy taxpayers (somehow).

MY IMMIGRANT IDAHO: FEDERALES (pronounced the Spanish way) SAY IDAHO DOMINATED BY POOR IMMIGRANTS!

“It shook my entire house!” Explosions in the sky as more minor quakes hit Idaho!

01 DEC 2017 (01:55 UTC-07 Tango 06) 10 Azar 1396/12 Rabi ‘al-Awwal 1439/14 Ren-Zi 4715

On 30 NOV 2017, just before 13 hours after midnight (that’s just before 1pm for those of you who insist on using a 12 hours clock to track the 24 hours in a day) the area around Soda Springs, Idaho, was hit by yet another 3 magnitude earthquake.

Ever since September southeast Idaho has been hit with low magnitude quake ‘swarms’, possibly due to petroleum exploration.

But in the south central part of the state, in the Twin Falls area, people have been reporting unexplained sounds of explosions, or “booms”.  Many say it sounds like the booms are coming from the sky, but one woman saw a smoke cloud rising from across the Snake River: “It shook my entire house! It freaked me out. …..It looked like it came off the ground and was slowly dissipating and rising. It was yellowish or maybe even greenish.”– Sara Bloss, as quoted by Twin Falls Times-News

The National Weather Service said there were no big cloud-to-cloud lightning strikes. Idaho Department of Transportation swore they had no road construction projects in the area.  The U.S. Air Force at Mountain Home refused to comment about a ‘secret bombing range’.  Interestingly, according to local news media these Skyquakes happen at the same time every year.

Apparently nobody in the Twin Falls area speculated that it could be petroleum exploration.  Perhaps it’s because a professor from Boise State University claimed there were no seismic registrations.  In mid-November a lawsuit in Oklahoma revealed that a former university professor was being bullied not to make a connection between increased quakes and petroleum exploration/fracking: “Researchers have linked the spike in the number of earthquakes in parts of Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas and other states to the underground disposal of wastewater from oil and gas production. Holland said he was reprimanded for helping publish a peer-reviewed journal article on how to cope with such earthquakes.”-Associated Press
