Born in Deutschland 1965, hometown was Bütthart, parents were not U.S. government employees. However, when father was tricked into joining the U.S. Air Force Civil Service, in 1969, with the promise that we could remain in Germany, we were promptly shipped off to Iran. Due to one of my Iranian educators being disappeared, along with her husband, by the U.S. ally Shah of Iran's Israeli & U.S. created Savak (for the then official terrorist act of promoting the idea that women can vote), and due to my U.S. citizen mother being placed on Savak's Terrorist Arrest List (for supporting the idea that women should vote, at that time the U.S. ally Shah of Iran did not allow women to vote, now they can) we left Iran for the United States in 1973, literally in the middle of the night. At the U.S. Embassy airbase the CIA operated Gooney Bird (C-47) was so packed with other U.S. citizens fleeing our ally Iran (because the Shah gave the OK to arrest any U.S. citizen for such terrorist acts as promoting the concept of voting) that we were turned away by the Loadmaster and had to take a chance on a civilian flight out of Tehran's airport. My father told me he and my mother had three culture shocks; first when they arrived in Germany as civilians, then after being shipped off to Iran as U.S. government employees, then again returning to the United States as unemployed civilians (because so much had changed in the U.S. while they were gone, their only news source was the U.S. Armed Forces Radio & Television Service which heavily censored information about the home front). Since I graduated high school in 1982 I've worked for U.S. government contractors and state & local government agencies (in California), convenience store manager in California, retail/property management in Georgia, California and Idaho. Spent the 1990s in the TV news business producing number one rated local news programs in California, Arizona and Idaho. 14+ years with California and Idaho Army National Guard and the U.S. Air Force. Obtained a BA degree in International Studies from Idaho State University at the age of 42. Unemployed since 2015, so don't tell me the economy has recovered.

Without warning Subaru dumps Suzuki!

In a surprise move Fuji Industries (known in the United States as Subaru) dumped all their shares of Suzuki stock!

Fuji dumped its Suzuki shares for about $182-million USD, making a profit.  Suzuki also stated it was about to dump its shares of Fuji.  In Japan companies conduct ‘cross-shareholding’, but critics say such cross-shareholding creates artifical conditions on the stockmarkets, and reduces corporate accountability (sounds like the unAmerican corporate America).

The neo-imperialist prime minister of Japan, Abe Shinzo, has been pushing Japanese corporations to halt cross-shareholding.

3rd self-drive crash for Tesla!

For at least the third time a Tesla being operated on autopilot crashed, this time it was in China, and this time the driver lived.

The self-drive ‘Autosteer’ crash happened in Bejing, last week.  For some reason the Tesla sideswiped a car that pulled off the road.  Arrogant Tesla apparently blames the driver for not having his hands on the streering wheel.  However, the real reason for the crash is that the Autosteer did not identify the car on the side of the road.

Reuters reports that many people in China, including the driver involved in the latest crash, say Tesla sales staff are telling potential customers that the Autosteer is no longer experimental and is fully autonomous!

The main reason people who want an autopilot is so they can take their hands off the steering wheel, because they don’t really like driving a car!

Near Miami, Florida, there’s a warehouse full of food and even vehicles paid for with your tax dollars, but none of it’s for you!

It’s USAID’s Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA) warehouse for Latin American countries.  But it’s not the only OFDA warehouse, the OFDA’s website boasts that during fiscal year 2015 your tax dollars were spent sending brand new products to 45 countries, including countries hit by wars instigated by the Obama-Bush regimes (like Iraq, Syria and Ukraine)!

In 2015, USAID-OFDA spent $717-million U.S. tax dollars on West African countries in the name of fighting ebola.   $303-million went to help refugees (supposedly) from Syria.  In total, USAID says its OFDA spent “more than $1.9 billion in assistance in FY 2015”, imagine if that money was spent here at home!

60 years ago Boeing created the cargo hauler/airborne fueler for the U.S. Air Force, called the KC-135 (it is not a 707, its development was actually started before the 707).

Republicans block your access to military bases!

According to a recent U.S. Air Force news report residents of three U.S. states, and one U.S. territory, can no longer use their locally issued drivers licesense as identification to enter a U.S. military base.

It’s because Minnesota, Missouri, Washington and American Samoa are considered non-compliant with the Orwellian police state Real ID act passed by Republican controlled Congress, and signed into law by Republican George W. Bush in 2005.

To access the military installations in those areas (where many people have to work) you need an Enhanced Drivers License, valid Passport or Department of Defense Common Access card.  To this date there is no proof that the Real ID law has prevented any crimes!

Over the next nine months, besides expanding the U.S. military presence in the Middle East through the construction of more permanent military installations, one of the historic missions of the 176th will be to track 1-thousand 7-hundred Active Duty, Reserve and National Guard personnel throughout the region.
