Harvey: Beaumont catastrophe

Texas Army & Air National Guard set up a field hospital in the parking lot of Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas Beaumont, due to the hospital being damaged by Harvey

By 02 SEP 2017 U.S. Army Reserve personnel assisted in more than 7-hundred evacuations of people, 170 pets, and transported more than 1-hundred emergency personnel to critical locations.

Due to the unprecedented flooding, and the failure of Beaumont’s fresh water pumps, there is no drinkable water.  Video of Army Reserve CH-47 Chinook loaded with volunteers delivering 49 U.S. tons of fresh water (supposedly donated by an “anonymous billionaire”) to Beaumont, 02 SEP 2017:

So we’ve been doing humanitarian missions, going out with the swift water rescue survival team and finding areas that traditional military vehicles cannot get in and out of. Marines rescued almost 1-thousand-3-hundred people and countless pets/livestock from the affected areas.

Fracking quake swarm hits east Idaho?

Update, 11 SEP 2017:  U.S. Geological Survey reports as of 10 SEP 2017 more than 260 earthquakes rocked Caribou County, Idaho!  The USGS believes the quakes will continue but gave no reason why. A professor at Idaho State University claims the swarm quakes are “a whole series of aftershocks”.    USGS quake data is higher than reported by University of Utah, which operates its own seismograph stations independent of the USGS.

A swarm of earthquakes that hit an area east of the rural east-Idaho city of Soda Springs (at least 58 in less than 24 hours) fits the M-O of what the U.S. Geological Survey calls Induced Earthquakes caused by the oil industry’s hydraulic fracturing (fracking).

The individual quakes ranged in magnitude of 2.5 to 5.3, beginning in the late afternoon on 02 SEP 2017 and continuing until late afternoon the next day.   The same area was hit by quakes in October 2016.

In 2016 the Idaho Department of Lands swore that no fracking was taking place in The Gem State, or at least no applications for fracking had been submitted.   Even local news media blow off the skyrocketing quake swarms as signs the supervolcano Yellowstone is coming back to life.  However, I’ve been tracking these swarms for a few years and noticed they coincide with the resumption of petroleum exploration, including fracking.

Harvey: Border Patrol halts cruise ships!

During the weekend (26-27 AUG 2017) that Hurricane Harvey made first landfall, Border Patrol (U.S. Customs and Border Protection) personnel at Port of New Orleans cleared almost 12-thousand passengers from three cruise ships diverted from Galveston, Texas, due to the hurricane.

28 AUG 2017, Louisiana’s gov’na John Bel Edwards activated 210 part-time National Guard personnel, to join 230 full-time personnel in rescue operations now going on in The Pelican State.

Louisiana National Guard has been preparing for Harvey for at least a week and already Guard personnel rescued more than 1-hundred people in Lake Charles.  Along with Lake Charles Fire Department, Calcasieu Parish Sherriff’s Office and the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, at least 450 people in total, and 12 pets were rescued.

More than 1-thousand-152 MREs (Meal Ready to Eat), 750 bottles of water and 247-thousand sandbags have been distributed.
