1955 CHEVY ‘TAXI’, AGAIN!
On 21OCT2023, a big pre-Halloween car show/USMC-Reserve’s Toys-4-Tots drive/Trunk or Treat was held in the Old Town area of Pocatello, Idaho.
I’m not a Chevrolet fanatic, but every time I see this 1955 ‘taxi’ I’m drawn to it like a moth to a flame!
Co-owner Suzie Bosquez stated: “We purchased it in 2008 and did all the body and paint ourselves. Designed the interior and had the bumpers rechromed. Installed custom head and tail lights. Switched out the 283 to a 350. She has a T10 rock crusher 4 speed muncie. She has master flow exhaust. We knew the previous owner and after a lot of pleading and begging he gave in and sold her to us!”

The owners of this vehicle said they bought it as a curiosity, but they’ve been amazed by how much practical use they’ve gotten out of the big ol’ tow truck.

On 13OCT2023, the 494th FS-48th FW began deploying F-15E Strike Eagles from their home base on Lakenheath, England, United Kingdom, to a supposed non-disclosed location (which looks a lot like Al-Asad Air Base in Iraq).
On 08OCT2023, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin the Third announced that “I have directed the movement of the USS Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group to the Eastern Mediterranean. This includes the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78), the Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruiser USS Normandy (CG 60), as well as the Arleigh-Burke-class guided missile destroyers USS Thomas Hudner (DDG 116), USS Ramage (DDG 61), USS Carney (DDG 64), and USS Roosevelt (DDG 80). We have also taken steps to augment U.S. Air Force F-35, F-15, F-16, and A-10 fighter aircraft squadrons in the region. The U.S. maintains ready forces globally to further reinforce this deterrence posture if required.”

On 15OCT2023, local newspapers report that North Dakota Army National Guard’s 817th Engineer Company deployed to Texas, to assist U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP, aka Border Patrol) with operations along the border with Mexico. However, local TV reports said the deployment was at the request of the Governor of Texas:
