In July 2021 I revealed U.S. President Biden’s SECRET NEW AFGHAN-AFRICAN REFUGEE OPERATION. I understood the Afghan part, after almost two decades of not really getting anywhere, spending a hell-of-a-lot of tax dollars and shedding a lot of blood, Biden had approved a sudden withdrawal of U.S./NATO forces from the Central Asian country, but what did the continent of Africa have to do with it?

For almost a decade, NATO Europe has been dealing with a tsunami of migrants coming from Africa. Ironically, it is precisely the European, Canadian and United States NATO ‘peacekeeping’ operations that have ramped-up volatility in central and Northern Africa, to the point that people would rather risk dying during an escape to Europe, than to stay in their home countries. African migrants are even traveling to Colombia, in South America, before starting their long caravans North to the United States.

Since January of this year, it appears that NATO is losing control of the Central African region of the second-largest and second-most populous continent on this planet, with new found resources and potentially the largest economy in the world.

In the past couple of days, NATO France announced it was unassing the African country of Mail, literally telling the government of Mali it was on its own. This involves other NATO European members and NATO Canada.

The area of Africa that NATO is unassing is known as The Sahel. It has long been part of the so called War on Terror against ‘extremists’, but since the beginning of the Gregorian year several countries in that area have experienced military coups.

It also turns out that Russia has increased its operations in The Sahel.

Days ago Biden issued an executive order to steal $7-billion from Afghanistan’s central bank, allegedly to fund his Afghan & African refugee operation!

Does this mean Biden is thinking of a sudden pull-out of U.S. personnel? Recent news releases by the U.S. Department of Defense makes it look like the U.S. is making its Africa operations a permanent deployment.

On 17FEB2022, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command concluded International Maritime Exercise (IMX) 2022, which included African countries Egypt and Kenya.

On 17FEB2022, U.S. Special Operations Command Africa released this promotional video, by Staff Sergeant Andrea Salgado Rivera, showing a multi-national exercise held in Côte d’Ivoire, called Flintlock:

Besides military units from Côte d’Ivoire, units from Cameroon, Ghana and Niger took part in Flintlock, as well as NATO personnel from Canada, France, Netherlands, Norway, United Kingdom and United States.

From 17 to 20 January 2022, U.S. Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa conducted a ‘medical knowledge exchange’ with the Gendarmerie (militarized police) of Djibouti.

Also in December 2021, U.S. Army Southern European Task Force-Africa went to Niger to help set-up an ‘enhanced’ basic training program as part of the Trans-Sahara Counterterrorism Partnership Program Act, authorized by U.S. Congress. The Indiana Army National Guard is also involved with training and certifying Nigerien basic training instructors.

The latest data (as of 03DEC2021) out of South Africa is that so far nobody has died from Omicron, and that most people who were hospitalized, were hospitalized for a different medical condition and that it was after hospitalization that they tested positive for Omicron! This is called being “COVID incidental”; you being hospitalized for a non-Pandemic problem and you just happen to be also infected with the Pandemic.

Omicron is more infectious than Delta, but at this point the data shows it is in no way more deadly than Delta! What seems to be the biggest impact of continued news media/government fear mongering over the Pandemic, is economic, and apparently that is the true motive.

There are now concerns that one barrel of oil could hit U.S. $150 for 2023!

Pandemic Logistics Perfidy: Skyrocketing Used Car Prices & Insurance Rates started years before the shortages!

I recently got a notice from the car insurance company I use (which is the cheapest I could find) and it stated that my eleven years old used car (I’m the second owner) is now “undervalued” and to meet its new valuation would require an increase to my insurance rate.

I have not been able to afford a new car since 1990, not just because of my income, but because of outrageous insurance rates for new vehicles (Anybody in the U.S. as old as me should remember when industry and government officials promised that making vehicle insurance mandatory would make it cheaper!). The news media wants you to believe that used vehicle prices are skyrocketing because of Pandemic shortages affecting the new vehicle manufacturers, my research shows used car prices started going up years before the Pandemic hit, and insurance rates are more about the switch to artificial intelligence than consumer ‘demand’.

An article published today, by The New Yorker, refers to insurance company Hagerty as reporting that second-hand pickup truck prices have gone up by 50% over the last four years. This is partly because people in the United States can actually make money ‘flipping’ a used pickup truck. Another reason is that old pickup trucks are seen as being easier for the owner to work on, compared to new vehicles which almost require you to take them to an expensive mechanic (some countries, like Germany, made it illegal for you to work on your own vehicle, unless you become a government licensed mechanic with a government inspected shop). This might seem logical for people with limited money who can’t afford to pay a mechanic, but the article makes an ironic point by blaming high-paid computer savvy tech workers for driving the demand for used pickups precisely because they don’t like the new computerized pickups!

This leads to an article by Forbes, which reports that the actual cause of automotive supply problems is not the Pandemic, but a mandated shift towards electric vehicle production! This will affect the economies of the world as the automotive industry is a truly globalized industry and not every link in the supply chain will benefit: “Companies making the wrong things will lose ground to those making the right things. Manufacturing jobs held by some people will go away. Manufacturing and software jobs will open up for others, possibly in the same locations, possibly in neighboring states, possibly in other countries.”

Another article published today reports on a relatively new U.S. insurance company that just acquired another relatively new U.S. insurance company, and how it just reported massive losses. The article doesn’t blame increased accidents involving used cars, but increased spending by the company on artificial intelligence (A-I) and other hi-tech software crap, as well as massive spending on advertising campaigns (marketing).

In the U.S. the car price ‘god’ is known as Kelly Blue Book, just this month they tried to explain why insurance rates are going up, basically insurance companies are now using ‘third-party’ A-I contractors to determine repair/replacement costs and set rates.

Today, Seeking Alpha tried to dissect the performance of an ecommerce used car seller called Shift Technologies, while used vehicle sales were way up, the company also reported a $14-million year-over-year net loss! The company had focused on selling its oldest vehicles for high prices in its first three quarters, but then reduced purchases because Shift expects used car prices to come down in its fourth quarter!

A recent article by Money says not only have used vehicle prices gone up, so have new car prices. The vehicle manufacturers are using the excuse of a so called microchip shortage to focus only on producing vehicles that make big profits.

In the United Kingdom, a recent article somehow connects the rising number of used car purchases to the rising number of accidents, at least that’s what one insurance company is claiming in order to justify jacking-up insurance rates. What the U.K.’s biggest vehicle insurance company claims is that when a used car gets into an accident it is most likely written-off, or what we call in the U.S. being totaled, due to the cost of repairs exceeding the value of the vehicle. Apparently a vehicle write-off is more expensive in the U.K. than in the U.S.? The insurance company also states that they’ve gone ahead and repaired some crashed vehicles, rather than write them off, because it was actually cheaper to do so. However, the Association of British Insurers claims that overall vehicle insurance rates have actually gone down precisely because there are fewer people driving due to Pandemic lockdowns!

In Wales, the news media claims that second hand car sales hit 19 straight months of booming sales in October, however, a car sales ‘expert’ reported that the Pandemic lockdowns of 2020 caused “1.5 million ‘lost’ car sales”!

Even in South Africa, the insurance industry is using Pandemic shortages to justify jacking-up vehicle insurance rates, claiming that Pandemic shortages are jacking-up the cost of labor and parts to repair a car.

Cold War Ooops: Sea Harrier malfunction during 75th Anniversary of Naval Aviation

From February 1986 to February 1987, the U.S. Navy’s Memorial Museum (now National Museum of the U.S. Navy) celebrated the 75th Anniversary of Naval Aviation with airshows around the United States. Of course, the British Empire had to get involved and the Royal Navy sent at least one FRS Mark 1 (FRS.1) Sea Harriers (Two? I read somewhere that there were two Royal Navy Harriers, however, after reviewing tarmac staging area photos I’ve concluded that it was one Royal Navy FRS.1 and a brand new USMC AV-8B.).

The FRS.1 was relatively new, having entered service in 1979 for testing, with the first operation unit formed in 1980.

The week of May 3rd through 11th, 1986, saw the aircraft fluttering about over Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida. The photos are dated 10MAY1986. I found an article about that specific airshow, dubbed ‘Magic Week’ in the U.S. Navy’s July-August 1986 issue of Naval Aviation News, all it says on page 40 is “The Air Shows on May 10-11 wrapped up the week’s events….. flights of vintage aircraft such as… as well as current operational aircraft such as… and a British Sea Harrier.”

Cold War Battle Damage: USS Tripoli LPH-10 Desert Storm

On 18FEB1991, the United States Ship (USS) Tripoli (aka Tripoli-2) LPH-10 (not to be confused with the new LHA-7 Tripoli) struck an Iraqi mine while sailing the Persian Gulf during Operation Desert Storm. Four crewmembers were injured, and the Tripoli went into drydock for repairs.

Tripoli was sailing (news reports conflict, some say Tripoli was the flagship for a minesweeping operation while others say only specialized minesweepers conduct such operations, USN sources say Tripoli was acting as a “mine clearing platform”) along with USS Princeton, both hit mines. Tripoli was hit first, early in the morning before dawn (again conflicting times, some reports say 04:36, others say 04:40), two to three hours later Princeton was hit. The ships were more than 60 miles apart when they hit mines. Both ships were able to continue under their own power (one report says it took the crew of Tripoli seven hours to restore power).

There are photos of the Naval Broadcast Service conducting video interviews about the Tripoli’s repairs, for Navy News This Week, but unfortunately I couldn’t find the videos.

Tripoli was an Iwo Jima-class amphibious assault ship, commissioned on 06AUG1966, and based in San Diego, California. Tripoli served several tours of duty off the coast of Viet Nam from 1967 to 1972. The assault ship had continuous problems with its propulsion system, in the first six months of 1977 Tripoli underwent propulsion system upgrades. Tripoli was decommissioned and stricken from USN records in September 1995. Tripoli got new life with the U.S. Army, from June 1997 to April 2015. Tripoli was scrapped sometime after 2018. For some strange reason, the USN History and Heritage Command does not mention Tripoli’s action during Operation Desert Storm on its official history page for the ship, the only ‘conflict’ they mention is Viet Nam. However, they do mention Tripoli’s mine incident on its February 1991 chronology page.

Cold War Battle Damage: The Hind-End of Desert Storm

Mil 24, NATO reporting name Hind.

Hind is Middle English for rear end (hind end, hind leg), originating with Old English/Old German. Hind is also the name for female Red Deer who are three years of age or older. Hind is also the name for a type of speckled serranid fish in the Western Atlantic Ocean. Hind is also a word for a peasant/lower class worker.

The crews/countries who operate the Mil 24 have given it their own nicknames, such as Flying Tank, Drinking Glass and Satan’s Chariot.

Operation Desert Shield/Storm can be considered the last battle of the undeclared/unofficial Cold War.

Each member is expected to fund Commonwealth activities, although officially that funding is voluntary. However, at the beginning of 2020 the Queen of England joined Australia and New Zealand by halting funding, from the United Kingdom, because she didn’t like the way the Commonwealth Secretariat was handling the money! Funding was resumed in May 2020.

And don’t think it isn’t expanding: “The Commonwealth’s roots go back to the British Empire. But today any country can join the modern Commonwealth. The last country to join the Commonwealth was Rwanda in 2009.”
