World War 3: No trial for 5 U.S. soldiers who burned dozens of Qur’ans! Anti-U.S. riots spreading, U.S. & Italy transfers intellegence equipment to FOB Buji

Five U.S. soldiers, accused of burning dozens of Qur’ans in Afghanistan, will not go on trial.

“For the soldiers, it will be serious, they could lose rank. But you’re not going to see the kind of public trial that some here seem to want.”-unnamed U.S. military source

In Pakistan, hundreds are protesting the burning of the Qur’ans.  This while Pakistan’s government launches a new wave of attacks against Pakistani “Taliban”.

Also, a suicide bomber in Pakistan killed at least 23 people.  That attack was reportedly a result of infighting among the Pakistani “Taliban”.

In Yemen, protestors rallying against the burning of the Qur’ans in Afghanistan, were hit by a bomb.  The explosion occurred in Sa’ada Province, an anti-U.S. rebel stronghold.  22 people were wounded.

According to the 438th Air Expeditionary Wing, the United States has been transferring intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems from Shindand Air Base to the small Forward Operating Base (FOB) of Buji.

The operation began back in February.  It involves the 838th Air Expeditionary Advisory Group, U.S. Army Task Forces Griffin, Center and Spearhead, and the Italian army.

Buji is a desolate location. High dry desert. It is northeast of Kandahar, about halfway between Herat and Kandahar on the A1 highway.

World War 3: An Afghan soldier, and an Afghan teacher kill 2 more U.S. troops

March 1, 2012, yet another Afghan government soldier took part in attacking U.S./NATO/ISAF forces.  An Afghan in civilians clothes also took part in the attack.  The attack took place inside a U.S./NATO/ISAF base in Kandahar Province.

Two NATO troops are confirmed dead.  British media say the two who were killed are U.S. soldiers.  Afghan’s said the attack was vengeance for the U.S. burning of dozens of Qur’ans!

Just hours before the NATO troops were attacked, a NATO official said the Afghan uprising was a temporary setback, that would be overcome.

As usual there is conflicting reports about this attack:  British media say it was an Afghan soldier and a civilian who attacked the NATO forces.  Locals say it was a lone gunman, who was also a teacher at a school inside the base.  The Afghan Army says two people attacked one of the guard towers, took the tower over, then used it to attack the NATO troops.  Afghan Army officials say they killed the attackers.

According to officials at the U.S. Pentagon, there have been 42 “insider” attacks on U.S./NATO/ISAF forces since 2007.

World War 3: Day 6 Afghan riots, Karzai welcomes anti-U.S. protests, demands U.S. officials be put on trial, more children killed by U.S. led forces

“We strongly condemn the burning of the Holy Qur’an by the Americans and welcome the protests!”-Hamid Karzai, President of Afghanistan

Despite the U.S. media reporting Karzai calling for calm, on February 26, 2012, the President of Afghanistan said he supports the current anti-U.S. demonstrations.  He, and other Afghan officials, are demanding the prosecution of those responsible for burning dozens of Qur’ans at Bagram Airfield.

Arrogant U.S. Defense Secretary, Leon Panetta, told Afghan officials it was their responsibility to protect U.S. troops.  How many times have Afghan officials asked the U.S. to protect their civilians!

Also on the sixth day of riots, in Kunduz Province Afghans threw a grenade that wounded seven U.S. troops.

In Kapisa Province, French forces bombed and killed at least three civilians, two of which were children. This is the second time this month that French forces targeted children!

In Samangan Province, as many as 4,000 Afghans attacked local police stations, and a U.S. base.

World War 3: More Afghan troops join in attacks on U.S. led forces, two U.S. officers killed, attack UN compound, U.S. officials fearful of riots in the United States

February 25, 2012, day five of riots and two U.S. officers were killed after a firefight between Afghan government forces and U.S. forces, inside the Afghan Interior Ministry.

One of the U.S. officers was a Colonel, the other a Major. One report says they were shot in the head.  The Interior Ministry compound was filled with hundreds of personnel at the time.

Initial reports said an Afghan government soldier, or police officer, shot and killed the U.S. officers, vengeance for the dozens of Qur’ans burned by U.S. forces at Bagram Airfield.  Other reports say they’re was actually a firefight between Afghan government troops and U.S. troops.

This makes the second time, since the riots began, that two U.S. military personnel were killed by Afghan government forces.

Afghans also tried to storm a UN humanitarian aid compound, but were held back by Afghan police.  At least three people were killed, 47 wounded.

Meanwhile, U.S. officials have been busy visiting Mosques in the United States: “This is an issue we know is of concern, not only to Afghans, but to other Muslims around the world, including in the United States. We want to send a strong signal to the American Muslim community that we deplore what happened and apologize for it.”-George Little, Pentagon

Like I’ve posted before; we’ve heard that excuse how many times now?

World War 3: Riots continue in Afghanistan, Taliban take advantage and go on Offensive, 20 Afghans killed, 2 U.S. troops killed, Obama makes empty apology

U.S. media reporting that an Afghan soldier has killed two U.S. troops, vengeance for the burning of dozens of Qur’ans.  It’s not the first, second or third time U.S. led forces have committed acts of desecration (in violation of the UCMJ) in Afghanistan.

At least 20 Afghans have been killed, as a direct result of the riots.  One of those killed was an Afghan government solider. It’s not clear if the soldier was taking part in suppressing the riots, or take part in the riots.

A militia/freedom fighter group (U.S. media calls all Afghan freedom fighters “Taliban”) issued a statement calling for all out attacks on all foreign troops and bases.  At one base U.S. forces were shot at, resulting in two U.S. troops injured.

U.S. President Barack Obama sent a written apology to Afghan President Karzai.  When you realize how many times the U.S. has apologized to Afghanistan, for killing civilians and acts of desecration, it becomes clear those apologies are hollow.

‘Christians’ say they will protest largest Mosque in United States

Terry Jones now has a $1 million bounty for his arrest.  He’s one of the ‘christians’ that burned the Quran in March.  He, and his followers (doesn’t that make it a cult?) are in Dearborn, Michigan, to launch a Good Friday protest in front of the largest mosque in the U.S.

The problem is that Terry Jones has stated, recently, that he and his followers will use guns at the protest.  In a morning interview (April 22) with a Michigan TV station, Jones said they will protest, even though a judge denied their permit to do so.  The judge did suggest other sites for holding the protest, but Jones refused.

Florida Church leader lied, Burned Quran anyway

Last year a christian leader in Florida backed off the burning of a Quran.  Even General Petraeus was against it.

Last week the same Florida christian leader, and his followers, burned the Quran anyway.  He feels justified in that they held a 15 minute trial, and found the Quran “guilty”.

The christian leader lied about the burning, because, according to a 2010 Voice of America report, he said the Quran would “never” be burned at his church.
