U.S. Hunger Games 2023: Biden’s Healthcare for Food, don’t they already do that?

16 March 2023 (11:57-UTC-07 Tango 06) 25 Esfand 1401/23 Sha’ban 1444/25 Yi-Mao 4721/16 марта 2023 года

Medicare is about healthcare, mainly for citizens 65 or older who have paid taxes, as in what happens when you need to see a doctor.  There is a connection between your eating habits and your overall health, and taxpayer supported Medicare has provided food allowances through something called a Grocery Benefit using a Medicare Food Allowance/Heath Foods Card.  That is through the Select Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans (D-SNP) or Chronic Condition Special Needs Plans (C-SNP), types of Medicare Advantage insurance programs.

Now, several states are trying a new ‘Food for Medicaid’ operation.  Medicaid is a joint federal/state governments operation that helps some people who don’t meet the requirements of the federal Medicare.

Delaware, Maine, New Mexico, New York, New Jersey and Washington are petitioning Medicaid to allow them to add food to their new Biden Medicaid Food program.  Alaska, Massachusetts and Oregon already are using U.S. President Joseph Robinette Biden Junior’s new Medicaid for Food program.   But wait, Medicaid already has a food program!

Medicaid already issues vouchers for meal deliveries for people with specific health conditions, apparently it is a temporary thing.  But, most (not all, I know because I’m one who does not get SNAP and relies totally on the only private charity food pantry in my town) low income people (with families, or individuals with disabilities) in the United States get SNAP (aka Food Stamps), and if you qualify for SNAP you usually qualify for Medicaid and vice versa! So why is Medicaid being used to give low income people, who would qualify for SNAP, food?

Supporters claim that by spending more money on a food for healthcare program will somehow save the government money!  Maybe in relation to healthcare cost, but not in relation to food costs.  Perhaps healthcare costs are so high that the supposed savings of giving somebody extra food to stay healthy offsets the extra food costs?  This new, supposedly bi-partisan supported, Biden system was tried out in Arkansas in 2022, at a cost of $85-million!

Why not simplify and increase the SNAP allowances and expand SNAP eligibility?  Why not tie SNAP, Medicare, and Medicaid all together? Does this have something to do with the end of the False Flag Pandemic taxpayer funding for SNAP? Is this just a way for states to get extra federal taxpayer funding? Why all these shenanigans?

Government Incompetence: Mafia Medicare deadline nears, but applications aren’t getting through, if you don’t sign up when you turn 65 you’ll pay for it!

“Some people had difficulty accessing the [Medicare] online enrollment center. Others have not had calls returned due to high call volume.”-Bill Deal, Idaho Department of Insurance

Midnight (00:00 hours) December 8 is the deadline for the elderly getting Medicare applications in, yet many are not going through.  Idaho officials are reporting that phone in enrollments are overwhelming their system.  For those people they will now have until December 10 to enroll.

“We’re seeing various people who delayed enrollment into Medicare for various reasons.”-Frederic Riccardi, Medicare Rights Center

And if you don’t think you need to sign up for Medicare, even though you’ve just turned 65, you’re going to pay for it later on.  Medicare actually penalizes you for not signing up when you become 65 years old.

For those people who enroll in Medicare after their 65th birthday, the government will increase your Medicare premiums by 10% for each year you delay enrollment!

If you’re still a “current” employee, then you don’t need to, but the instant you lose your job you better do it. And you can’t trust Social Security officials to tell you, or even the Medicare handbook, as one man learned the hard way: “On my last day of work, I went to the Social Security office, asking for some guidance.”  “I’ve never had a problem, until I tried to sign up for Medicare.” -Robert Joseph

Joseph lost his job after he turned 65.  Because of bad advise from a local Texas Social Security official, and because he misinterpreted instructions in a Medicare handbook, he waited 18 months after losing his job to enroll.  Now he’s paying a higher monthly premium because of those 18 months he waited!

Medicare is not ‘free’.  You pay for it with the FICA (Federal Insurance Contributions Act) taxes that are taken out of your paycheck.  Then you pay again when you enroll at the age of 65, in the form of Medicare insurance premiums.  And guess what?  You still have to pay out of your pocket for some of your medical care!  Sounds like the Mob is runin’ da joint!

Occupy America! East Idaho elderly threaten politicians if their earned Social Security benefits are cut

“Seniors aren’t just numbers.  They’re not line items in a budget, and they’re certainly not pushovers.  Idaho seniors are watching Congress today, and so are 50 million other Americans.  We’ve got news for them: They will hold them accountable on election day for their actions.”– David Irwin, Idaho AARP

“Healthcare costs keep soaring, right along with everything else.  I pay my Medicare premiums like everybody else.  Without this coverage I’d be deeply in debt.” Also, “So Crapo and Simpson have my message and received it today.  There will be a lot more messages like mine in the future, and I hope they pay attention.”-Gene Wiggers, east Idaho AARP volunteer

Dumb Americans: Most old people, on U.S. Medicare, don’t realize how much they actually pay out of their own pocket

A new survey shows that most U.S. citizens on Medicare don’t realize just how much they’re paying out of their own pocket.

The study looked at “specialty tier” drugs under the Part D prescription drug plan.  Specialty tier drugs are mainly expensive name brand drugs.

At least half the people surveyed thought only a co-pay was required. Specialty tier drugs require a co-insurance, not just a co-pay.  Also, most people greatly underestimated how much they would have to fork up out of their own pockets, even with the specialty tier coverage.

The study was conducted by NERA Economic Consulting.

Idaho’s Mike Simpson says “reforming” Medicare will get GOP “beat up” in elections, but it’s worth it

U.S. Congressman Mike Simpson, from Idaho’s 2nd District, admitted that the Republican party will get beat up in future elections, for Medicare reforms: “We knew that the first person that threw something on the table was going to get the living crap beat out of them, we might be beat up in the elections in the future.  But you got to be willing to take that if you want to reform the system.”

Simpson is supporting House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan’s reform bill, which would replace Medicare with federal subsidies to buy private health insurance.  I know people who got tricked into switching to privately run Medicare programs (private insurance) and they regret it.  Even the AARP is against it.

When Simpson says the GOP will be beat up in future elections, because of their Medicare reforms, who does he think will be doing the beating?  The voters of course!  So in a round about way Simpson is admitting that Republicans are not doing what the voters want!
