Failed state: New York deploys its militia to save Puerto Rico!

15 January 2020 (11:55 UTC-07 Tango 06) 25 Dey 1398/19 Jumada l-Ula 1441/21 Yi-Chou 4717

The state of New York activated it’s National Guard, not in response to natural disasters in The Empire State, but to response to the recent earthquakes in Puerto Rico.

New York’s 105th Airlift Wing preps pallets of equipment for flight to Puerto Rico, 13JAN2020.

There are a lot of political reasons for this, like the fact that most Puerto Ricans escaping their natural disaster ravaged island end up in New York (more than one million so far).  Another reason is that apparently New York’s governor sees an opportunity to advance his political career (President of the U.S.?).  Governor Andrew Cuomo is in Pureto Rico right now, his seventh public relations trip since Hurricane Maria in 2017, you’d think he was the governor of Puerto Rico!

Cuomo ordered 115 of New York’s National Guard personnel to deploy to Puerto Rico for three months, despite that fact that New York’s National Guard is also deploying to the Middle East!

Cuomo, April 2018, one of his many taxpayer funded trips to a place he supposedly doesn’t govern.

It should be noted that at the end of 2018, Syracuse.com reported that for some reason Cuomo’s own staff have no idea how much New York state taxpayers are being forced to spend helping Puerto Rico since Hurricane Maria!

12JAN2020, New York’s 105th Airlift Wing personnel hitch a large generator to a dump-truck, to be flown to Puerto Rico.

According to Stars and Stripes, Puerto Rico has 650 of its own National Guard personnel working full time building tent cities for now homeless Puerto Ricans.  As of 13JAN2020, they’ve distributed more than 72-thousand bottles of water and 30-thousand meals.

It should be a sign of failed state-ism when the governor of a state can spend his constituent’s state tax-dollars helping an area of the country that the national government should be dealing with.

AUSTRALIA:  If you look at my past Pacific Ring of Fire postings you’ll realize that the U.S. and Aussie militaries conduct disaster training operations through out the year.  The question I have is why does the deployment of the Aussie military, during these unprecedented fires, seem so ineffective?

Here’s an economic reality check to Australia’s disaster preparedness: 70-thousand Aussie firefighters are not paid, not even for food or fuel!!!

Apparently humans should be blamed for the unprecedented fires because they were operating under the same bogus ‘save the forest’ mentality as the U.S.; don’t touch anything and let everything grow unchecked (the natives in the U.S. didn’t do that, that’s why the landscape seemed so pristine to the invading Europeans): There’s only one way to make bushfires less powerful: take out the stuff that burns

Germany rocked by major earthquake?

“The normal infrastructure was completely down and therefore our team came in to do our quick assessment. The Bundeswehr came out and they’re getting assessed on what they do on their medical side.”-Specialist Christopher Wise, U.S. Army Europe

On 14SEP2019 Wackernheim, Germany, was rocked by a 6.2 earthquake.  U.S. and German Soldiers hoisted casualties from the debris, evacuated them to a medical treatment area and rendered first aid.

Mass-casualty training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

From the end of May 2019, thru the beginning of June 2019, the U.S. military held a multi-state (Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee) National Guard/local responder exercise called Shaken Fury, in preps for a major New Madrid Seismic Zone event.

One of the things Guard personnel trained for was reacting without any prior notice (called a ‘no-notice’ response). The main purpose of Shaken Fury was to identify potential problem areas for local disaster response.

Simulated roof-top rescue, obviously they expect homes to fall victims to liquifaction.

It should be noted that the U.S. government, through Department of Homeland Security, pushed for the Shaken Fury training as part of a FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) policy called Emergency Support Function 14-Long-Term Community Recovery: “Understanding how disruptions cascade across infrastructure, and the role of private industry in responding and stabilizing our systems, is particularly important in major disasters such as the one we are exercising in Shaken Fury. This cross-sector understanding is what CISA aims to provide through the newly established Emergency Support Function number 14.”-Brian Harrell, Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA)

I’ve experienced dozens of earthquakes in my life, both large and small, and I concur there is a noticeable difference in the M6 and large quakes; if you’re directly over the epicenter the Earth heaves under your feet, I’ve seen people literally thrown straight up into the air by a couple of feet (I was sitting in a parked minivan at the time and it bounced violently, as if we were off-roading at 30mph.)  If you’re on the periphery of a major quake it feels like a giant dog has grabbed you and is trying to shake you to death.
