“…give us some breathing room…” : U.S. federal/state/local government Shenanigans, December 2016

Incomplete list (due to internet access problems, come on why won’t anybody donate to BlindBatNews?) of U.S. Federal/State/Local Government self-destruct announcements for December 2016:

Political activists known as The Koch Brothers laid off 81 people, now that the undemocratic presidential election is over.  At the same time they announced they’re creating a new for-profit communications company.

Alaska:  The state’s low tax collections (due to oil industry cutbacks) got a big boost from the new legalized marijuana operations.  December was the second month of Mary-Jane tax collections with the state raking in nearly $146-thousand USD! Buds are taxed at $50 per ounce, and the junk is taxed at $15 per ounce, with the grower being responsible for the tax payments.

Colorado:  Garfield County Library District laid off eight people due to a $1.2-million USD crash in revenues (that’s what happens when you put all your hopes into the oil industry and then they reduce local operations by 45%).

Florida: Orange County was surprised when tax collections from tourists crashed by 3.5% in December. Local news reports say December is usually a good tax collection month for Orange County.  The city of Miami reports continued crashing of hotel tax collections, and of course city admin continues to blame it on fear of the Zika virus.

Georgia:  The overall tax collections for December 2016 were stagnant at 0.7% compared to December 2015.

Illinois: Peoria County warning of as many as 40 layoffs as part of their budget for 2017.  The new budget also raises property taxes.  County chairman Andy Rand indicated they didn’t expect any short term economic recovery by saying the austerity measures were meant to “…give us some breathing room over the next four years.”

Louisiana: Tax collections from tourists dropped 3.5% in December.

Massachusetts: Once again, the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) to kill jobs, this time warning of at least one hundred layoffs in 2017, due to a taxpayer funding shortage of $100-million USD!

Michigan: In Port Huron, ThumbCoast Brewing Company shutdown blaming taxpayer funded city construction projects for creating “…challenges that we’ve faced throughout 2016, especially those which had (a) significant impact on revenue during the months of May and June, have finally caught up with us and we can no longer move forward.”

Nebraska: For the past six months state level tax collections have been far less than what the predominantly ‘christian’ government ‘experts’ expected.  Actual tax collections came in at $51-million short of what was projected, proving their economy has not improved.

New Jersey: The evil city of Newark forces janitor services company United Services to layoff 41 people.  In July, United Services filed a lawsuit claiming the city failed to pay for services rendered!

New York: Tax-sucking military sewing contractor The Resource Center issued a shutdown WARN, 57 Buffalo jobs lost by March 2017.  The town of Hempstead shutting down the 20 years old East Meadow Senior Center because the property owner now wants $9-thousand per month in rent (for the past 20 years the rent was free).

Ohio:  Tax collections failed to meet government budget ‘expert’s expectations, for the 5th month in a row!  This is another sign that Ohio’s low unemployment rate is fake.

Pennsylvania: 520 Jobless Center employees could join the unemployment lines before Xmas! Local news media blames it on disputes between Democrat and Republican politicians.

Rhode Island: Cafe-bakery Au Bon Pain shutdown, the owners blame crashing sales on the city of Providence for forcing potential customers to pay for parking!  Local news reports say it was the third business to shutdown as a result of the new city parking meters!

Tennessee:  Wilson County reports four straight years of increased sales tax collections, local news reports didn’t explain why.  However, at the state level it was reported that overall sales and corporate tax collections were up, mainly due to “substantial one time” corporate tax payouts.

Texas: State tax collectors reported that tax revenues for the twin cities of Bryan-College Station were up for the year, but down for December.  The increases came from sales taxes, and the decreases were caused by the oil industry shutdowns.

Vermont: Taxpayer funded, Bernie Sanders founded, drug-free music venue 242 Main finally shutdown after 32 years of lack of funding and lack of ticket sales. (probably would’ve made money if it offered free drugs instead of being drug-free)

Virginia: The city of Danville reports increased tax and fee collections for the year. City admin admitted that part of the increase is from cash strapped property owners finally making payments on past due taxes.

Washington DC: The federal government’s budget deficit hit $28-billion in December 2016, double what it was in December 2015!  Obama regime’s new legacy as The U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics reports a record 95-million 102-thousand U.S. citizen, ages 16 and up, are Not In Labor Force during December. Not In Labor Force refers to people unemployed for various reasons, and are not used to calculate the ‘official’ unemployment percentage as reported by main stream news media. Meaning the number of unemployed ‘Mericans is much higher than ‘officially’ reported.

WARN=Worker Adjustment & Retraining Notification.

I found a 2010 AFL-CIO analysis (titled The Public Availability of WARN Notices: Lack of Accessibility and Disclosure…) which proves what I’ve been suspecting in my search of state WARN notices; most states are not complying with federal WARN regulations and are not publicizing or tracking mass layoffs.

Former employees who receive severance are not counted as unemployed!

Employees of religious non-profits might not qualify for unemployment assistance: “If the non-profit organization is a church, you may or may not be entitled to unemployment. It all depends upon state regulations for church employers. In many cases, churches are allowed to set their own rules regarding unemployment benefits, meaning the church can choose whether to offer benefits to former employees.”

The U.S. Department of Labor (DoL) no longer issues mass layoff reports: “On March 1, 2013, President Obama ordered into effect the across-the- board spending cuts (commonly referred to as sequestration) required by the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act, as amended. Under the order, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) must cut its current budget by more than $30 million, 5 percent of the current 2013 appropriation, by September 30, 2013. In order to help achieve these savings and protect core programs, the BLS will eliminate two programs, including Mass Layoff Statistics, and all ‘measuring green jobs’ products. This news release is the final publication of monthly mass layoff survey data.”

Obama Legacy: Record 95-million + unemployed & not counted!

13 January 2017 / 22:27 UTC-07 Tango 06 (25 Dey 1395/15 Rabi ‘ath-Thani 1438/17 Ji Chou 4714)

Obama regime creates new legacy as the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics reports a record 95-million 102-thousand U.S. citizen, ages 16 and up, are Not In Labor Force during December 2016.

Not In Labor Force refers to people unemployed for various reasons and who are not looking for work.  Those Not In Labor Force people are not used to calculate the ‘official’ unemployment percentage as reported by main stream news media, meaning the number of unemployed ‘Mericans is much higher than ‘officially’ reported.

Pharma Phail: AntAcid drugs causing Stomach ‘Flu’?

12 January 2017 (11:25 UTC-07 Tango 06) 23 Dey 1395/13 Rabi ‘ath-Thani 1438/15 Ji Chou 4714

“We found that taking PPIs increased the risk of hospitalization with infectious gastroenteritis by up to 70 percent because they significantly reduce the amount of acid made by stomach, which increases risk of infectious gastro…..   The elderly and those with chronic bowel problems are most at risk.”- Yingxi Chen, researcher

“They’re getting away with murder! Pharma. Pharma has a lot of lobbies, a lot of lobbyists and a lot of power.”-Donald Trump, President Elect United States, 11 January 2017

A suppressed study by Australian National University (ANU) concluded that pharmaceutical industry antacid (heartburn) drugs actually weaken your digestive system to the point you get sick with stomach ‘flu’ (gastroenteritis).

The anti-acids are also known as Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs), they shutdown your stomach’s acid production, but the study found that your stomach acid was key to preventing you from getting sick to your stomach with infections.

The study was prompted by an increase in the Aussie working class missing more and more days of work due to stomach infections; now at 13-million ‘lost’ work days per year.  At least 20-million PPI prescriptions are issued every year in Australia!

Here’s the rub: The study was released in October of 2016, but only now is being reported by the main stream news media (which gets most of its advertising revenues from the pharma industry).

Conclusion. PPI use is associated with an increased risk of infectious gastroenteritis hospitalization with increasing risks among increasing doses. Clinicians should be aware of this potential association when considering PPI therapy, and use the lowest effective dose for patients with appropriate indications.”-Use of Proton Pump Inhibitors and the Risk of Hospitalization for Infectious Gastroenteritis,

There’s more reasons why Donald Trump said the pharma industry is “getting away with murder”, as this stomach infection study is not the only PPI study being suppressed by the pharma industry:

Northwestern University: HEARTBURN MEDICATIONS CAN INCREASE RISK FOR HIP FRACTURES IN POSTMENOPAUSAL WOMEN

DrugWatch: PPI Heartburn Drugs May Increase Stroke Risk

Consumer Reports: “…people who regularly take these stomach soothers for extended periods face serious harms, including an increased risk of heart attack and dementia.”

Medscape: “The long-term consequences of chronic PPI use include the potential increased risk of hypocalcemia, hypomagnesemia, Clostridium difficile infections, and pneumonia.”

High Tech Fail: Idaho’s low tech paper ballots ranked one of most trustworthy for U.S. elections!

08 January 2017 (13:51 UTC-07 Tango 06) 19 Dey 1395/09 Rabi ‘ath-Thani 1438/11 Ji Chou 4714

The University of Sydney, in Australia, recently published their study of the U.S. voting system (done with the cooperation of the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University), or systems since there is no standardized system of voting across the United States.

The latest and greatest electronic voting systems failed to boost the election integrity of the more populous U.S. states.

In fact, Idaho’s old fashioned mainly paper ballot system helped The Gem State earn the second highest ranking for election integrity in the United States (behind tiny Vermont)!  Keep in mind that the logistics of casting and counting votes in Idaho is delegated down to the county level, also realize that even though Idaho is considered one of the best for election integrity there were several cases of documented vote fraud.

And time for another reality check, the United States as a whole (once considered the leader in world democratic ideals) is still ranked among the lowest for election integrity in the ‘western’ europeanized world (once known as Christendom), along with the United Kingdom.

“An official from the US consulate was wounded by a shot from a firearm. According to the medical report, he is in stable condition.”-Attorney General of Mexico statement

U.S. Consulate security camera video recorded an assassination attempt on one of its employees in Guadalajara, some reports say the U.S. government employee was shot in the chest but survived:

07 January 2017 (14:20 UTC-07 Tango 06) 18 Dey 1395/08 Rabi ‘ath-Thani 1438/10 Ji Chou 4714

There’s been a campaign against true ‘free range’ poultry operations, including claims that true free range (basically raising poultry the old fashioned way and not in industrial cages) eggs are infected with salmonella, due to being exposed to environmental extremes like heat.

A researcher in Australia is challenging that claim: “…it has been assumed that hot weather has a role to play in the potential contamination of eggs at the site of free range egg production. We found that there was no direct association between hot weather and increased prevalence of Salmonella at the production stage…..  the types and levels of Salmonella found in and around free range egg farms is highly variable and often dependent on the specific management practices employed by each farm.”Kapil Chousalkar, University of Adelaide  School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences

Having raised chickens myself in the Mojave Desert of California, when I was a child of the 1970s, I can promise you I never got no salmonella from their eggs even after they been sitin’ in the sun all day waitin’ for me to get home from school to collect them up.

However, just because a brand of eggs calls itself ‘free range’, or ‘organic’, doesn’t mean the chickens are allowed to roam free. Many industrial sized ‘free range’ poultry ops still force the poultry into crowded environments.

To counter what is essentially an industrial egg production marketing gimick, some true free rangers use the term Pasture Raised to indicate that the poultry are allowed to run free.

07 January 2017 (05:01 UTC-07 Tango 06) 18 Dey 1395/08 Rabi ‘ath-Thani 1438/10 Ji Chou 4714

On 06 January 2017 it was revealed that the Obama regime ordered the deployment of 3-hundred U.S. Marines to Afghanistan.  The order was the result of a request for additional troops by CentCom (Central Command) and U.S. Forces-Afghanistan.

The GI-rines will make up Task Force South West, ostensibly to “train and advise” Afghan puppet government military and police forces in Helmand Province.

The MarineTimes reports this will be the first of many rotations of Marines back into Helmand Province because “The Afghans have seen security erode in several Helmand districts, including Marjah, Sangin and in the provincial capital, Lashkar Gah. All have experienced resurgent violence as a determined Taliban seeks to reclaim lost ground and once again push out any political and security entities loyal to the central Afghan government.”
