U.S. Food Crisis March 2016: “Sales aren’t even close….Not even close!”

Incomplete list of announced United States food supply shutdowns for the month of March, 2016: Many food suppliers/distributors are consolidating operations and killing jobs due to the collapsing grocery store and restaurant industries, as well as rising costs of food production, spread of disease and extreme weather.

Nation’s Restaurant News reports yet another perfect storm of problems for the U.S. restaurant industry, this time mainly blaming employees.  The top three issues are keeping “quality” employees, minimum wage increases and ObamaCare costs.  Some restaurant executives admitted their low pay is the reason they can’t keep quality employees, but said the industry’s profit margins are too tight to significantly increase pay.  Then doesn’t that mean the actual threat to the restaurant industry is the bad economy?

Anti-sugar soda-jerks are celebrating the news that U.S. soda consumption is at a 30 years low.  Many think it’s because people are finally giving up on so-called ‘sugary’ drinks.  Check the ingredient label on those ‘sugary’ sodas you jerks, because the overwhelming majority don’t contain any sugar at all!  Since the 1990s soda-pop makers have been using GMO corn syrup!  All those studies on ‘sugary’ drinks were really testing drinks made with GMO corn syrup.  I personally choose sodas made with 100% sugar, not GMO corn syrup or those sickening diet sodas made with ungodly chemicals.  Perhaps the real reason is that U.S. consumers are waking up to the fact ‘sugary’ sodas are made with GMO corn syrup, or maybe it’s the suck-ass unrecovered economy?  (originally a soda-jerk was the employee who served you your fav soft drink at the local mom-n-pop establishment, now it refers to extremists who want to eradicate carbonated soft drinks)

Due to skyrocketing demand, the price of vanilla beans has tripled.  But get ready for even higher prices as a major producer of vanilla, Madagascar, is reporting a low harvest for 2016.

Alabama: The saga of the sudden mass FMP owned Ovation Brands/Buffet LLC bankruptcy continues as at least four Ryan’s restaurants were suddenly shutdown in as many cities.

Arizona: In Phoenix, Fuego Bistro shutdown its CityScape location. In Glendale, after 46 years restaurant La Peria shutdown due to not being able to pay its rent. In Scottsdale, Stingray Sushi shutdown. RT O’Sullivans sports bar-eatery shutdown on U.S. 60.

The owners hope to open a new restaurant with new partners somewhere in Los Angeles, sometime next year.  City administrators of Stanton are suing to shutdown a thriving coffee shop. What’s the problem? GZ Cafe employs waitresses that wear bikinis (and even just pasties), however, there are reports that several customers complained to the city claiming some of the waitresses were showing off their ‘hardware’ to other customers. A next door barber shop owner praises GZ Cafe for greatly increasing his business!  In Stockton the S-Mart grocery store shutdown, 50 jobs lost due to lack of profits.  In Oakland, after 47 years restaurant Francesco’s shutdown: “There’s nobody to pick it up. So it’s going into history.”-Theresa Erwin, 3rd generation family owner

Connecticut: In Stamford, after 50 years Pat’s Hubba Hubba restaurant shutdown.

Florida: The saga of the sudden mass FMP owned Ovation Brands/Buffet LLC bankruptcy continues. This time reports that several Ryan’s Buffets shutdown without warning in Horry County. A local news report said as many as 3-hundred restaurants across the U.S. are affected by the sudden bankruptcy!  In Miami, food service contractor Boykin Management issued a mass layoff WARN, 119 jobs lost by May! Tomato Land Farmers Market store-restaurant shutting down in April, due to the property being sold-off. In Tampa’s Ybor City, after 33 years The Spaghetti Warehouse Restaurant shutdown, no specific reason was given, but in 2010 the Church of Scientology became the new landlord.  In Center Hill, Central Beef Industries issued a WARN, 214 jobs being eliminated between now and the end of May! For nearly a decade the meat packager was dumping water contaminated with salt and feces onto a rancher’s property. It took the rancher filing several court actions, and a plant manager turning whistleblower, to get any of the state and federal government agencies to act! The dumping was stopped, however, criminal charges against the food company were eventually dropped. So far there’s no explanation for the mass layoffs.  In Jacksonville, after eight years O’Brothers Irish Pub shutdown: “I tell people that restaurants are like martinis: One isn’t enough and two is too many. We’re going back to one. It’s time to slow down.”-Drew Cavins, co-owner

Georgia: In Liburn, the Versace Dominican Restaurant hit by food contamination, revealed by surprise health inspections.  The inspectors ordered the desserts and juices thrown out due to food poisoning (desserts & juices being made right next to raw meat, cooks not wear gloves or washing hands), and gave the eatery a health score of 47/U (failure).  The health inspectors were there for a follow up inspection after a questionable inspection a month ago.   In Atlanta, employees of Thirteen Pies pizza joint reporting they’ve been told they will become unemployed within 60 days. The company that owns Thirteen Pies, Raised Palate Restaurants, says no final decision has been made, however local news reported that Raised Palate Restaurants shutdown another food joint in the same plaza back in January.  In Albany, after five years God powerless to stop Christian owned (Flint River Presbytery) non-profit Bare Bulb Coffee shop from shutdown due to road construction that killed customer traffic.  In Atlanta, after more than five years H. Harper Station bar shutdown, the owner blames the landlord: “While signs point to the area’s impending development coming to fruition, it also brings the pressure of increased costs. After a great five-year run, we feel the model is no longer sustainable. We wish the best to the new tenant…”-Jerry Slater

Idaho: East of Boise, after 73 years iconic Ben’s Crow Inn shutting down by September. The owner admitted in the early years all he served was pizza and beer. Now it’s famous for seafood and steak. The owner also admitted that the ever expanding metro of Boise has jacked up local property values so much that he couldn’t refuse an offer from a greedy property developer.  In Boise, after only four months the brand new Boise Co-op grocery store located at The Village at Meridian laid off 29 employees, due to lack of sales! Boise Co-op opened the store in November 2015 expecting big sales because Maureen Valko, Boise Co-op marketing manager, assumed “There’s a demand for a good, natural food store on this side of town….” It should be noted that also in 2015 Boise Co-op was hit with numerous health code violations by city inspectors, in connection to a June 2015 salmonella outbreak at an older store. So much for ‘natural foods’.    Also in Boise, it was revealed that Idaho Heritage Inn was sold-off last month, the former owner blames a 20% crash in bookings on Airbnb.com. However, it should be noted that the bed-n-breakfast owner accepted a healthy offer from Saint Luke’s Medical Center for the land.  Recently Mexico’s Minister of Trade Armando Orellana died. Idaho’s government and agriculture industry are officially mourning Orellana as he’s credited for making Idaho a major ag partner for Mexico, generating $191-million USD in sales for Idaho’s minority (mainly corporate owned now) farmers-ranchers, just in 2015: “Idaho agriculture lost a great friend. He touched many lives over the years and the tragic loss of Armando will be felt throughout Idaho.”-Celia Gould, Idaho Department of Agriculture (Idaho even has its own website promoting itself in Mexico)  Some good news for Idaho; New York based yogurt maker Chobani announced plans to expand what is already the world’s largest yogurt factory, in Twin Falls, primarily to make products for sale in Mexico!  An update on that false organic seed selling operation that ripped off dozens of farmers east of the Rockies for five years; one of the co-owners of Saul Farms/Bliss Seed pled guilty to mislabeling products. Prosecutors say the seed sellers sold ‘inorganic’ seed at organic seed prices, getting at least $1 USD per pound more than they should have, resulting in $1.9-million USD in fraudulent sales!

Illinois: In Moline, bankrupt FMP owned Ovation Brands/Buffet LLC Ryan’s Steakhouse shutdown without warning, pissing off employees. The restaurant was shutdown officially for an “asset inventory”, but then, the employees were told they could pick up their final paychecks!  In Naperville, after 3-million customers the 21 years old Zero Gravity Food-Dancing club shutdown. It’s connected to the 2013 sale of the company to Washington based government contractor Mobius Industries. Administrators with Mobius refused to give job loss numbers, but blame the shutdown on crashing sales to the restaurant industry, a 20% crash just last year: “We put a tremendous amount of effort into increasing sales in the last year or two and haven’t been able to get that magic to happen.”-Brian Clayton (the claim of crashing restaurant industry sales is interesting because every year the National Restaurant Association claims sales are way up)

Maine: In Portland, after 40 years Paul’s Food Center shutting down, and being sold-off due to the death of the owner.

The owner says he must focus on his other restaurants.  Feeding America shutting down its warehouses in Ishpeming and Sault Set Marie, claiming they’re moving to a larger operation. However, several food banks are reporting that the move by Feeding America is actually forcing them to shutdown. The Ishpeming Food Bank and Tom’s Pantry in Quinnesec both point out that even though Feeding America’s is moving to a larger location the delivery times aren’t compensating for the further distance, meaning food banks will have to expanded refrigerated storage and/or hire delivery trucks to make extra food runs: “Because they only come up twice a month, you’re going to have to have a lot more refrigeration space than what I have. You’re going to have to have pickups and trailers in order to pick up your food. This is going to cause us to have to close.”-Mary Dixon, Tom’s Pantry

Minnesota: In Minneapolis, Maison Darras sandwich shop and the U.S. Postal Service extension office being forced to shutdown on Thursday, due to massive $20-million USD remodeling of Baker Center. My equipment is still in there!”

In NYC, the Shake Shack settled a lawsuit for failing to pay nine mangers their due, yet at the same time publicly stated they were not guilty of shorting their managers about $50 per week in pay!   In Montauk, the Sloppy Tuna restaurant shutdown due to the co-owners filing lawsuits against each other.  The saga of the sudden mass FMP owned Ovation Brands/Buffet LLC bankruptcy continues as the Amherst Old Country Buffet was suddenly shutdown.  In SoHo, pub Puck Fair shutting down due to the property owner tearing down the building.    British empire owned Chartwells lost their food service contract with Nazareth College, 90 jobs lost by May (Chartwells is owned by British empire Compass Group, which runs food ops for the military and prisons, and owns other food servers that’ve been involved in scandals such as lying about meat product ingredients in Europe and underpaying U.S. employees!).  Food service company HMS Host issued a layoff WARN for their JFK Airport ops, 134 jobs lost due to loss of contract!  NYC based research company Nielsen says the U.S. bar industry is now in an official Death Spiral. Every month an average of 334 new bars open across the U.S., but, that pales in comparison to the 609 per month that shutdown (and that’s why it’s a death spiral, more deaths than births)! It’s blamed on jacked up rents, increasing competition from restaurants serving booze and increasingly restrictive laws.  It’s been revealed that troubled NYC based restaurant chain Fig & Olive eliminated an undisclosed number of jobs, revealed by at least four former employees. Fig & Olive had to shutdown restaurants back in 2015 because of a salmonella outbreak.   In Buffalo, the Blue Monk beer church (just kidding) shutting down sometime between April and May. That’s on top of 74 restaurants shutdown last month, for a total of 166 in the past five weeks! Not only did they shutdown the restaurants without warning, but they quickly removed cooking equipment and hauled it away (this must be what they mean by “conducting asset inventory”)! Ovation Brands/Buffet LLC was taken over last year by Texas based FMP (Food Management Partners). In the bankruptcy filing FMP claims their take over of Ovation Brands was a big money losing mistake as sales immediately crashed by 22%! Nation’s Restaurant News discovered that FMP is a Mitt Romney-Bain Capital style vulture capitalist group that is responsible for the sudden shutdown of California based Catalina Restaurant Group’s Coco’s Bakery and Carrows restaurants last year! “FMP has also acquired Don Pablo’s, Furr’s Fresh Buffet and Zio’s Italian Kitchen.”

In Cleburne, Caddo Street Grill shutting down, the owners directly blaming the Affordable Care Act: “The Obamacare mandate has effected us in ways that do not effect other local restaurants, due to the various businesses we own. Virginia: Just short of a year Shoryuken Ramen shutting down its noodle eatery on Virginia Commonwealth University campus in May.  In Danville, Bubba’s Ice Cream shutting down and selling the property. Irony; the ice cream shop owner is selling the property so he can retire, and he’s selling it to a nursing home.  Martin’s shutting down three grocery stores by Summer, they are not part of the shutdowns due to the merger of Giant Food and Food Lion, but are the result of a decision back in 2015. WARN=Worker Adjustment & Retraining Notification

February 2016: “it’s killing me to give it up, but I have no choice.” “This feels personal…”

WinCo: Conspiracy to destroy California’s economy?

31 March is U.S. federal commemorative holiday Cesar Chavez Day.

Dumbing Down the United States, March 2016: “Let’s be clear; this campaign promotes an agenda designed to undermine public schools.”

It must be noted that I started documenting these education shutdowns at the beginning of 2014.  In that year I posted the reports biannually (every six months).  In 2015 education cutbacks ramped up and I posted quarterly (every three months).  For the past three months of 2016 there have been so many education cutbacks that I’ve posted a report every month!

Disappearing Students Syndrome (DSS): A phrase created by me to describe a phenomenon taking place across the United States, affecting both privately and publicly funded schools, from Kindergarten all the way through University levels.

Incomplete list of publicly announced education related layoffs & school shutdowns, March 2016:

California:  Plumas Unified School District laying off ten teachers due to lack of taxpayer funding.  Sebastopol based Safari Books Online laid off an undisclosed number of employees, including the CEO! The layoffs were revealed by the former CEO. The company, which does business on the internet, is consolidating operations.  Barnes & Noble shutting down their Mountain View College Bookstore, 40 jobs lost by May.   11 months after going out of business Corinthian Colleges lost a lawsuit brought by the state. They must now fork over $1.1-billion USD after being caught lying about employment placement after graduation, running ads for education programs that didn’t exist, illegal debt collections, and using U.S. Department of Defense promotional material without permission! It’s also hoped that the thousands of students who were suddenly dropped will get some restitution to help them pay back their student loans (you can’t claim bankruptcy protect against student loans).

Connecticut: God powerless to stop ‘his’ Archdiocese from shutting down 89 years old (surviving The Great Depression and numerous recessions) Saint Augustine School, the last Catholic elementary school in Hartford. It’s blamed on what I call Disappearing Students Syndrome (some Christians call it The Rapture).

Delaware: Delaware State University eliminating 23 programs, claiming lack of student participation. Administrators also claim no jobs will be lost.

Florida: Yet more medical school shutdowns! The first victim of non-profit Zenith Education Groups massive cutbacks; Everest University announced it must shutdown campuses in Lakeland, Brandon and two in Tampa Bay, affecting at least 343 medical students: “It’s a slap in the face for everybody really!”-Angela Adams, medical billing student

Idaho:  In Boise, public school officials are finally outing the so-called friend of education J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Family Foundation for what it really is; a covert effort to Dumb Down Idahoans: “Why would someone want to undermine public education in Idaho? The motive is quite clear. At a recent Downtown Rotary Club meeting, the executive director of the Albertson Foundation stated that the goal of the Foundation is to increase charter school seats by 20,000 in the next few years. That will only happen if Idahoans lose faith in their public schools….. …..Let’s be clear; this campaign promotes an agenda designed to undermine public schools. It is highly inaccurate. It offers no real solutions to increasing post-secondary readiness. It is a disservice to the work public school teachers, parents, and students do every day.”-Boise School District

Illinois:   Barrington District 220 notified 114 employees of layoffs, saying they’re prepping for the state ‘lawmakers’ to cut their funding by $2.6-million USD!  1-thousand Northeastern Illinois University employees must take one day off without pay, due to the Failed State ‘lawmakers’. All Illinois universities are warning of massive layoffs if the Govna’s proposed budget is adopted.  Kishwaukee College has decided to eliminate about 24 jobs due to Failed State ‘lawmakers’ failing to come through with funding. Sycamore School District 427 approved an additional 18 layoffs, on top of the 56 approved last month. Administrators blame it on a shortfall of $2.3-million USD, partly caused by Failed State ‘lawmakers’ failing to approve state funding.   John A. Logan College eliminating 55 jobs, claiming to be short $7-million USD. Protesting students pointed out that certain departments are not suffering job losses and that school executives refused to say why. Computer Systems Institute shutting down campuses across the state, eliminating 172 jobs between now and September! Chicago Public Schools laid off 62 people on 01 March .

Maine: In Portland, God is powerless to stop economic warfare within ‘his’ own church! Non-profit Good Cause Thrift Shop being shutdown by its owner, the Catholic girls only Catherine McCauley High School, which claims it’s an economic decision. According to Maine’s employment law, if you work for God’s non-profits you do not qualify for unemployment assistance! A local news report revealed the employees were ordered by ‘christian’ leaders not to reveal the shutdown, but the employees basically said ‘bullshit on that’! (that’s why we know about it)

Massachusetts:  In Lowell, God powerless to stop the shutdown of ‘his’ 108 years old (surviving The Great Depression and numerous recessions) Franco American School. It’s blamed on increasing costs and declining student enrollment.

Michigan:  Farmington Public Schools approved the shutdown/repurposing of three schools. The school district has lost 12% of its student population since 2000, causing an $11-million USD reduction in taxpayer funding.

Minnesota: After ten years of paying for eye checkups, tutoring and giving teachers grants, non-profit Saint Paul Public Schools Foundation shutting down due to lack of corporate donations.   Traverse City Area Public Schools shutting down the Interlochen Community School and the International School at Bertha Vos, blaming a $1.2-million USD shortfall. Administrators will also not replace retiring employees (attrition) and reduce school bus service.  Stillwater School District shutting down three elementary schools. Interestingly administrators blame increasing enrollment! They claim they’re shifting children out of older schools into new buildings designed to handle more students.

Montana: Federally funded Head Start programs in “Joliet and Red Lodge are closing so schools in Billings and Laurel can admit more children.”

New Jersey:  God powerless to stop the shutdown of ‘his’ Mother Teresa Regional School in Atlantic Highlands, 24 jobs lost by the end of June.  Mercer County Community College eliminating IT jobs as it will now use a cheap contractor. Some in-house Information Tech employees will be laid off while others will be shifted to other departments. Trenton Board of Education shutting down Stokes Early Childhood Center and eliminating a net 164 jobs! It’s the second year in a row for shutdowns and layoffs due to lack of students and taxpayer funding.

Berkley Publishing Group revealed they eliminated an undisclosed number of jobs, blaming crashing book sales. News reports say the book publisher has been eliminating jobs since Summer 2015.  Lack of funding and students forcing Kenmore Town of Tonawanda District to shutdown the Roosevelt and Hamilton elementary schools and Kenmore Middle School (Junior High damn it, we’re not supposed to be part of the bloody British empire!) next school year. Local news reports say the district has been trying to figure out a way to cut taxpayer costs since 2012, and this was the best they could do.   After 47 years, God powerless to stop the shutdown of ‘his’ Elmira Christian Academy due to The Rapture of students (what I call Disappearing Students Syndrome). At the school’s peak there were 220 students, this year there’s only 80, the pastor blames the parents: “It’s hard to compete with families who feel that it would be more advantageous for them to educate their kids from home.”-David Leandre

North Carolina: After ten years and without warning the Park West Barber School shutdown four of its campuses. The school’s website had the following message: “IT IS WITH GREAT SADNESS AND REGRET THAT WE MUST INFORM YOU THAT EFFECTIVE TUESDAY MARCH 29, 2016 PARK WEST HAS MADE THE DIFFICULT DECISION TO CLOSE…..THINGS SEEMED PROMISING, BUT UNFORTUNATELY AT THE FINAL HOUR, OUR ONLY OPTION WAS TO CLOSE.”

North Dakota: Dickinson State University shutting down their Strom Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation due to the loss of $1-million USD in grants and taxpayer funding.

Ohio: In Hebron, Lakewood Digital Academy shutting down in June due to cancelation of taxpayer funding. The local school district must also payback $150-thousand USD to the state Department of Education. It’s blamed on changes in laws affecting charter schools.

Pennsylvania:  In Wilkes-Barre, Book and Spy Shop shutting down mid-April. The owner is selling the building saying the costs to maintain the building have become too expensive.

South Carolina: Pickens County School Board approved the shutdown of two elementary schools due to lack of taxpayer funding. Obviously uneducated taxpayers protested the decision. If you can’t generate the tax revenues you can’t have your cake and eat it too.

South Dakota:  Proof we’re a 3rd World Country; the state level corruption investigation into the U.S. Department of Education’s GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) has revealed that contractors are lying about employment data, using old employment rosters to pad current employment numbers in order to get more taxpayer money! (in Nigeria it’s called creating Ghost Employees, and they claimed they learned it from USAID) Those bogus employment records were part of contracts with “…former top officials of the state Department of Education, the University of South Dakota and the U.S. Bureau of Indian Education.” What’s really scandalous is that no criminal charges have yet to be filed!

Texas: God powerless to stop ‘his’ 30 years old Central Christian Academy from shutting down. Church leaders blame The Rapture, I mean declining church membership for forcing them to sell the school property (told you before, this proves money is the true ‘god’).

Virginia: In Richmond, low income daycare Southside Child Development Center shutting down in June: “Funders are saying that they just can’t continue to support us without us being able to support ourselves, which is a hardship when you deal with the families that we serve.”-Sheila Pleasants

Washington: Apollo Education-University of Phoenix shutting down their Seattle operations, 46 jobs lost by the end of April.  After 39 years Kathy’s Studio of Dance shutting down: “This was a very difficult decision for me to make but the dance world is changing and I am no longer up for the challenge. I started my studio with the idea that anyone should be able to dance – no matter their size, talent or ability to pay…….This worked for many years but times have changed….”-Kathryn Lahey

Washington DC: Independently operated Law School Transparency has revealed that only 56% of law school graduates find full employment after graduating, which challenges the official employment placement claims made by the top law schools in the United States.   The U.S. Navy planning on shutting down its remaining 20 voluntary education program College offices saying they can no longer afford to offer courses ‘on base’. Civilian employees will be relocated to a central call center. Administrators say they’re trying to save everybody some money: “For every dollar I get to spend on college education for our sailors, I would like to see it go to their tuition assistance pot and not paying for overhead.”– Rear Admiral Mike White, Naval Education and Training Command

Dumbing Down the United States, February 2016:  Schools being used as sex torture prisons!

ObamaCare Job Destruction March 2016: “we have been unsuccessful…we are now forced to close permanently”

It must be noted that I started documenting these ObamaCare/healthcare related shutdowns at the beginning of 2014. In that year I posted the reports biannually (every six months). In 2015 ObamaCare cutbacks ramped up and I posted quarterly (every three months). For the past three months of 2016 there have been so many ObamaCare cutbacks that I’ve posted a report every month!

Incomplete list of healthcare related layoffs and shutdowns, March 2016.

“What we don’t know is where we go from here.”-Alissa Fox, Blue Cross Blue Shield senior vice president, commenting on her insurance company’s latest study which proves the insurance industry totally doesn’t understand the healthcare needs of sick people!  The study shows that when the health insurance industry wrote ObamaCare they totally underestimated the actual costs of healthcare!

A USA Today report revealed that at least 350 water suppliers to daycares and public schools across the United States are serving up lead contaminated water! Is that the real reason for increased school violence? (stop blaming guns, lead poisoning is directly connected to violent behavior)

A study by ValuePenguin says 80% of High-Deductible Health Insurance Plans don’t qualify for the ObamaCare Health Savings Account tax break!

Alabama: After 20 years Birmingham based healthcare diagnostics lab Atherotech suddenly shutdown at the end of February, now chapter 7 bankrupt busted directly blaming ObamaCare for its death: “…Atherotech has worked hard to overcome numerous business challenges that resulted from adverse changes in the regulatory environment, increased pressure from commercial insurance payors and continued compression of profit margins…. ….we have been unsuccessful in convincing our lenders to cooperate so that we can extend the financing necessary to allow us to continue operations. As a result, we are now forced to close permanently.”

California: Non-profit Memorial Care Health System shutting down their Saddleback Memorial Medical Center, 194 jobs lost by May! It’s blamed on failed attempts to get state ‘lawmakers’ to pass a bill that would’ve turned the medical center into a outpatient operation (no thanks to ObamaCare).   Sutter Central Valley Hospitals issued multiple layoff WARNs, at least 96 jobs lost in several locations by the end of April. Southern Home Care Services shutting down their San Leandro ops, 123 employees unemployed by May! Memorial Health Services shutting down their San Clemente operations, 194 jobs lost by the end of May!  Illinois based drugs maker Baxalta issued several layoff WARNs, 239 jobs in three cities gone by May, due to being taken over by an Irish company! San Francisco based drugs dealer McKesson eliminating at least 1-thousand 6-hundred jobs due to the loss of several buyers! In San Diego, non-profit Scripps Health eliminating 1-hundred jobs, blaming ObamaCare: “….Scripps is financially strong, but we cannot continue to allow our costs and operations to rise while our revenue continues to be flat.”-Chris Van Gorder, ceo who took over in 2002 promising “no layoffs”

In Watsonville, the owner of the Crossroads shopping center served eight tenants with eviction notices, after selling out to a huge healthcare provider! It’s the same landlord that’s kicking out the Orchard Supply hardware store. The eight mom-n-pop tenants being kicked out in the next 30 days are Crossroads Books, Arcadia Hair Salon, Wild Rose Artists’ Supplies & Custom Framing, Jansen Music, The Gamer’s Den, Queen’s Shoes & More, Trop-Aquarium & Pet Center and Claudio Franca Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Some of the tenants have been there for the past 22 years! You can blame this on the Crossroads property owner signing a more lucrative deal to allow healthcare provider Kaiser Permanente to move in. City administrators are pissed at the uncouth healthcare provider and greedy property owner, who gave no warning of the deal: “It’s not a good way for them to come into the community, by kicking out eight businesses with eviction notices. I am going to make sure they know that the mayor is opposed to the 30-day eviction…..!”-Felipe Hernandez, mayor

Connecticut:   Expect mass hospital layoffs as gov’na Malloy is refusing to issue $140-million USD in payments to state hospitals! To show you how much The Constitution State is a Failed State, republican ‘lawmakers’ claim they’re willing to cut their own pay by 10% in order to get a budget passed!  Gov’na Malloy shutting down two nursing homes, Ella T. Grasso Center and the Meriden Center, 171 jobs lost by June! At least 40 aging and disabled residents kicked to the curb! Gov’a Malloy claims the shutdowns will actually help the state ‘care’ for more people!  Germany based Siemens Healthcare shutting down their Brookfield diagnostics ops, at least 236 jobs lost by March 2018!   Hartford based healthcare provider Aetna eliminated 26 jobs with its iTriage App in Colorado. Aetna then announced plans to merge iTriage App with WellMatch App. No word on how many more IT jobs will be lost.

Florida:  In Miami, Noven Pharmaceuticals issued a WARN, 80 jobs lost in May.   In Gulf Breeze, God powerless to stop the shutdown of ‘his’ more than 60 years old WaterFront Rescue Mission for women, and consolidate ‘his’ men’s shelters, and sell off ‘his’ Olive Road Career Development Center and lay off 20 paid staff. The homeless shelter funded itself mainly with recycling projects, but because of the crash in prices of recycled goods they’re now broke: “We’ve been in the business of trying to help people, so we have given away every dollar.”-Devin Simmons

Local news media pointed out that most homeless shelters are packed to capacity with homeless people with mental problems or addictions, and as a result the growing number healthy and employed, yet homeless people (mainly women) are being kicked to the curb: “We just don’t have the beds available for women who don’t have a substance abuse problem or mental health.”-John Johnson, EscaRosa Coalition

Yet more medical school shutdowns!

Idaho: Despite state senator Dan Schmidt giving back his state taxpayer funded health plan to protest republicans’ continued refusal to ‘close the healthcare gap’, Right to Work ‘elected christian lawmakers’ have killed the bill to expand healthcare coverage to those in The Gap, proving they’re evil sadistic genocidal maniacs! I’ve reported how the director of an east Idaho hospital directly blames Idaho’s version of ObamaCare for killing at least 1-thousand Idahoans, due to The Gap!  And after ‘christian lawmakers’ shit-canned a bill to close the ObamaCare healthcare gap for at least 78-thousand people (also attributed to killing 1-thousand Idahoans) a new U.S. Department of Health and Human Services report shows Idaho is the second worst state for lack of healthcare for low-income people with mental problems or addictions. Interestingly the top two offenders, Utah (ranked at 40% of low-income disabled residents uninsured) and Idaho (ranked 39% uninsured), are both densely packed with Mormons/Christians (U.S. Census Bureau data), who also dominate their government services.   Evil Blue Cross of Idaho ended its ObamaCare exchange coverage of dialysis, resulting in many Idahoans with no way to pay for treatment. The Idaho Statesman newspaper says Blue Cross is refusing to cover any medical service provider that is not willing to take Blue Cross’ cutthroat rates. The Idaho Department of Insurance refuses to comment about the issue, claiming they’re investigating it. Dozens more Idahoans could die.: “…we were with Blue Cross last year, when I was diagnosed with kidney failure…started…hemodialysis…..then we got a bill for $115,000….. Blue Cross of Idaho did not re-up our contract…”-Debbie Birch

The Post Register reporting that a yet another newbie to The Gem State (who moved here from a more ‘socialist’ state) got a big shock when he enrolled with Blue Cross through Idaho’s ObamaCare exchange (Your Health Idaho). The man is suffering from cancer but recently was told by the pharmacy that his prescriptions would not longer be filled because of Blue Cross. Let me explain how evil Blue Cross of Idaho is; the cancer patient’s treatment is so expensive that he’s getting financial help from charities on top of his Affordable Care Act insurance, however, Blue Cross told him ObamaCare does not allow “third party funding” of medical treatments! But get this, in a follow up interview with Blue Cross the Post register said that suddenly everything is fine and they will go ahead and pay for the man’s prescriptions!

Illinois:   After 27 years Monticello Drugs shutdown, ObamaCare was the final straw for the owner: “…after a burden of 27 years of ownership, the pleasure has just gone out of it.”-Marty Woodruff

God powerless to stop ObamaCare from forcing ‘his’ Catholic Presence Health to eliminate 7-hundred jobs through attrition and outright layoffs! CEO Michael Englehart said ObamaCare was forcing them “to get in line”.  In Westmont, IlliCare Health shutdown due to loss of contract, 68 jobs lost.  Troubled drugs maker Abbott Laboratories about to fire 180 U.S. workers and replace them with migrants from India: “-You have given 180 U.S. employees 60-days notice, and their last day of employment at Abbott Labs will be April 22, 2016.

-To add insult to injury, the Abbott Labs IT staff who will be laid off will first be forced to train their replacements.

–You have awarded Wipro Ltd, a large Indian outsourcing firm, with a contract to take over the jobs of these American workers.

-You are offering the U.S. workers severance of a week’s pay for each year they spent at the company, but in order to receive this severance you are requiring these employees to sign away their right to sue or disparage the company. The severance packet you gave your workers contains a full-page ad listing jobs at Wipro.

-The people you are laying off have stellar experience, credentials, and performance reviews, and some have been with your company for 15-20 years.”-Dick Durbin, U.S. Senator

Iowa: After more than 1-hundred years (surviving The Great depression and numerous recessions) Kingston Hill old folks home shutting down in May, administrators say that after all this time ObamaCare reimbursement reductions render Kingston Hill “financial unsustainable”.

Maine: Penobscot Valley Hospital eliminating 10 jobs due to crashing revenues. Administrators say the hospital has been losing money since 2012 due to declining local population.  Merrymeeting Behavioral Health Associates shutting down in Brunswick, 170 jobs lost due to 80% funding cuts! Non-Profit bus service Coastal Trans ceasing to exist due to 100% funding cuts for disabled passengers! In Bangor, social service agency Getchell Agency now chapter 11 bankrupt busted blaming long term lawsuits and MaineCare: “I made the decision to file for bankruptcy after long hours of deliberation and legal consultation….I cannot continue to move forward shackled by mounting legal fees and under constant threat of multimillion-dollar judgments over which only the state has control.”-Rena Getchell

Maryland: Meritus Health shutting down their 30 years old Hagerstown child Learning Center in June. 125 children affected. Local news did not indicate a reason saying only that the decision to shut it down was made suddenly.

Massachusetts: Non-profit Mayo Clinic shutting down its 20 years old Andover lab, 105 jobs lost by the end of 2016! Work is being shifted to labs in Minnesota.  Southcoast Health System laying off at least 95 employees in its hospital chain due to crashing revenues caused by ObamaCare. It should be noted that Southcoast Health System is trying to merge with another hospital chain that’s also eliminating jobs; Care New England of Rhode Island.

Michigan:  Blue Cross Blue Shield eliminated 22 IT jobs, as part of their bigger plan to eliminate $300-million USD in Michigan jobs by 2018!

Missouri: In Maryland Heights, Belgium based Bellevue Pharmacy issued a layoff WARN, 150 jobs lost by May! The parent company Fagron blames it on ObamaCare for causing crashing reimbursement rates for drugs, to the tune of a $248-million USD crash in 2015! Fagron also warns that if things don’t improve revenue wise, they’ll be forced to sell-off Bellevue Pharmacy.

Montana: In Great Falls, the Teton County Nursing Home shutting down in May, 34 jobs lost. ObamaCare reimbursement reductions forced the county to beg the cash-strapped voters to approve a levy to fund the home, but it was rejected.

New York:  That Which Cannot Be Named powerless stop the shutdown of ‘its’ Rosenthal Jewish Community Center of Northern Westchester, 72 jobs lost by the end of June.  EmblemHealth Services shutting down their Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, 82 jobs lost beginning at the end of May. It’s blamed on a lost contract.  The Broome Developmental Center for disabled people shutting down on Thursday, 6-hundred jobs lost! Officially it’s blamed on federal rules changes and ObamaCare reduction in reimbursements, however, I should point out that last year at least one employee were arrested for sexually abusing the tenants.

North Carolina:   In Winston-Salem, non-profit Community Care Center forced to shutdown their Med-Aid Pharmacy due to crashing donations and state taxpayer funding. Yep, even with ObamaCare there are still at least 530 low income people not covered by insurance, who rely on Med-Aid, in the Novant Health Medical Park area!   Rite Aid shutting down their Charlotte distribution center, 270 jobs gone by the end of Spring, following the big trend this year of consolidating operations!

North Dakota: God powerless to stop ObamaCare from forcing ‘his’ Saint Alexius Health hospital to layoff 23 people and re-classify another 39. Inpatient rehab and child care services have been shutdown! They referred to ObamaCare as “Industry trends and other circumstances”.

Pennsylvania:   Cancer treatment center Helomics eliminating 125 jobs in Pittsburgh by mid-April!  J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital eliminated 11 jobs, and is being forced by ObamaCare to eliminate inpatient care and focus on outpatient services. Brockie Internal Medicine, Pine Grove Adult Medicine and Saint Charles Internal Medicine all shutting down! ObamaCare forcing them to be consolidated into one operation called WellSpan Internal Medicine, with a lot fewer employees.  After suddenly laying off ambulance technicians in New York (back in February), with no final paychecks, TransCare suddenly shutdown their Monroeville facility, 120 people out of work and with no paychecks! Local TV news reports reveal even more bad news for employees.

Rhode Island: The evil state is finally shutting down a nursing home after years of multiple accusations of abuse, and even a death of a disabled resident; taxpayer funded College Park Apartments now shutdown. Care New England eliminating a minimum of 58 jobs at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island, as well as shutting down the baby factory and the intensive care unit, blaming reduced payments caused by ObamaCare. Union reps say they were told as many as 2-hundred employees were being let go, hospital administrators told local news sources “If there are any additional workforce reductions, we would report it publicly at the time it occurs.”

Tennessee: God powerless to stop ‘his’ Texas owned Saint Francis Hospital from laying off 33 people. Administrators said ObamaCare was forcing them to do business “more efficiently.”

Washington:  In Bellingham, Medicare policy seller Sterling Insurance shutting down their Barkley District office, 55 jobs lost by May.

Washington DC:  Taxpayer funded United Medical Center eliminating 112 jobs as a result of demands by city administrators to reduce costs by $10-million!

Wisconsin: After more than 1-hundred years (surviving The Great Depression and numerous recessions) Kremer Pharmacy shutdown.    River Hills West Health Center shutting down, 144 jobs lost starting in May!

ObamaCare job destruction, February 2016: “…how could this be?” Hospital director says Idaho’s ObamaCare killed 1-thousand people, so far!

2nd U.S. Civil War: New York & Obama’s Homie Town top creators of U.S. refugees! Where are they going?

25 March 2016 (14:29 UTC-07 Tango 01) 06 Farvardin 1395/15 Jumada t-Tania 1437/17 Xin Mao 4714

The U.S. Census Bureau reports that from 2014 to 2015 The Empire State of New York again took top place for forcing more than 150-thousand people to flee for their economic lives!

Cook County, Illinois, saw the highest exodus of residents from a U.S. county; at least 10-thousand 5-hundred people fled their homes!

Obama’s home town Chicago metro area saw nearly 6-thousand 3-hundred people flee!  The top reasons for the creation of domestic war refugees; inept local governments, increasing taxation without true representation and suspiciously skyrocketing extreme violence! (in 2014 I tried to document the weekly violence in Chicago, which is on the same level as a full blown civil war, especially since police are part of the violence, yet by the first week of September 2014 I gave up because it became overwhelming)

Moving company Stevenson Transfer says they expect 2015-16 to be another record year for Chicagoans fleeing their homes!

Wayne County, Michigan, takes second place with 6-thousand 6-hundred people fleeing for their lives in 2014-15!

And for those U.S. citizens who aren’t fleeing the country itself, where are the rest going?  According to the U.S. Census Bureau the overwhelming majority of domestic refugees are heading to Texas and Florida.  Most of the rest are being spread between Colorado, South Carolina, North Carolina, Washington, Tennessee, Nevada, Oregon and Georgia.  Amazingly (if you follow my Job Losses reports) these locations are also experiencing employer shutdowns.

Los Angeles County, California, remains the most densely populous place in the U.S., blame illegal immigrants.

U.S. Civil War: California schools official safe houses for illegal immigrants!

Yet again, another record renounce U.S. citizenship!

U.S. Civil War: Obama regime Homie Town police genocide 7,185 people in Chicago!

U.S. Civil War, 03 – 14 September 2015: Professors assassinated! Cop assassinates himself! 150% increase in murders! Illinois steals victim’s homes!

False Flag: Border Patrol reveals record numbers of children flooding into U.S., & it seems to be planned!

25 March 2016 (04:32 UTC-07 Tango 01) 06 Farvardin 1395/15 Jumada t-Tania 1437/17 Xin Mao 4714

On 23 March I wrote how war refugees and migrants have become “the greatest & most profitable Human Trafficking op ever!”  On the same day, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection revealed that the migrations of ‘unaccompanied’ children into the U.S. are now at record levels.

“We are all aware there was a tremendous border surge in FY 2014 and preliminary statistics show that the border surge in the current fiscal year 2016 may exceed that number…”-Jan Ting, Temple University, testifying to House Subcommittee on National Security and Government Operations on 24 March

And stop blaming ‘Mexicans’ only (by the end of 2012 the number of Mexican migrants actually hit a record low!),  ever since the illegal War on Terror began there’s been a surge in immigrants from south of Mexico and the other side of the world: “My border patrol agents, when they arrest people and they are not from Mexico, all they have to do is claim a ‘credible fear.’  If they are from a ‘special interest country’ we notify the FBI immediately. We won’t interview those individuals. For instance when we arrested the Pakistanis and Afghanis they were immediately turned over to the FBI.”-Brandon Judd, President of the National Border Patrol Council, testifying to House Subcommittee on National Security and Government Operations on 24 March

But guess what? The U.S. Customs and Border Protection revealed that the now ‘traditional’ Summer time surge in child migrants happens right at the same time your ‘elected’ representatives go on their Summer vacation (July 15 to September 6), and Border Patrol has already captured a record number so far this year: “As of January 31 this fiscal year, CBP has apprehended more than 20,000 [unaccompanied children], compared to approximately 10,000 apprehended during the same period last year. As we enter the traditional season of higher migration, we are closely monitoring this situation and working with our partners to ensure that resources and capabilities are in place to accommodate an increased number….”-Ronald Vitiello, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, testifying to House Subcommittee on National Security and Government Operations on 24 March

Interestingly in 2014 the U.S. approved 86% of migrants’ claims that they were fleeing ‘for fear of their lives’, which qualifies them for more taxpayer support.  And for proof of increased illegal immigration from all over the world, since Barack Obama became commander in chief a record 400-thousand have been deported!

The Center for Latin American & Latino Studies published a detailed report on Unaccompanied Migrant Children from Central America: Context, Causes, and Responses.  They blame the usual; lack of jobs, inept U.S. supported governments, “extreme” violence and illegal drug trafficking for the drug-addicts of the United States.

2nd U.S. civil war: 790% increase in federal prisons population!!! Immigrants, drugs & guns main targets!!!

Total Gun Ban Total Failure: Mexico!

World War 3, North American Front: United States ‘THE’ drug lord in Mexico’s drug war

World War 3, North American Front:  More deaths in Mexico than in Syria

Revolution in Idaho! Record turnout for Democrat Caucus!

23 March 2016 (09:18 UTC-07 Tango 01) 04 Farvardin 1395/13 Jumada t-Tania 1437/15 Xin Mao 4714

Boisians tell me there was a record turnout for the Tuesday Democrat Caucus in Idaho, something the dominant Republicans should be fearful of.  One attendee claimed it was the largest turnout of all the U.S. caucuses held that night.  The local Democrat Party wasn’t prepared for it.  Main stream news sources confirmed it was a record turnout of ‘Democrats’ in Red Right to Work (you over) Idaho.

Bernie Sanders supporters?

At one point the oligarchal mayor of Boise (remember, he led the mass roundups of homeless people into concentration camps at the beginning of December) actually said that Hillary Clinton was more “radical” than Bernie Sanders! One attendee described Hillary’s voice as “grating”.  It should be noted that Hillary refers to the United States as “America” (the British empire term for the colonies), and Sanders uses the correct term of United States of America.

An honest Hillary supporter?

Vote counting took longer than expected, due to the high turnout, but in the end Bernie Sanders won Idaho!  The Huffington Post stated Bernie “solidly defeated Hillary Clinton” with 78% of the votes!

Oh the folly, when are people gonna realize this whole thing is a sham?    When it comes to elections, I’m with George Carlin and Mark Twain.

Gun Ban Failure: UnConstitutional NYC laws fail to stop attack on cops!

07 March 2016 (05:06 UTC-07 Tango 01) 17 Esfand 1394/27 Jumada al-Ula 1437/29 Xin Mao 4714

The near total ban on guns in the Failed State of New York City failed to stop a man from attacking people, with a knife and with fire!

When the smoke cleared one man was stabbed dead, a homeless man burned, a woman stabbed in the neck and face, and two cops set on fire!  The 23 years old is now in jail after police shot him in the legs.  This proves you need to carry a gun, it was the only way the cops were able to stop the fire-starter.

Gun Ban Failure: Yet more mass stabbings of children in total gun ban China!

Operation Jupiter: Massive Syphilis outbreak near U.S. military base! Not 1st, 2nd or 3rd time U.S. govt spread the disease!

02 March 2016 /19:21 UTC-07 Tango 01 (13 Esfand 1394/23 Jumada al-Ula 1437/25 Xin Mao 4714)

In Nevada’s county of Clark there is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) raging out of control.  Most main streamer news sources are focusing on the famous city of Las Vegas, insinuating its the source.  But there is another source, a source which has been guilty in the past of intentionally spreading syphilis, the Christian dominated U.S. military.

Clark County is also home to Nellis Air Force Base.  The U.S. military has a nearly 1-hundred years history of playing around with sexually transmitted diseases.  Regarding syphilis, in 2010 president Barack Obama officially apologized to the people of Guatemala who were intentionally infected with syphilis, and other STDs, by U.S. government medical personnel.

Under the direction of the U.S. Public Health Service, from 1946 to 1953 the U.S. government infected more than 1-thousand people, most against their will as many were prisoners and some were children as young as ten, under the guise of developing treatments to protect U.S. military personnel from infected prostitutes.    Another 5-thousand 128 people, some as young as only one year of age, were used in antibodies studies.  U.S. military personnel from the Guatemala Air Base were also used as guinea pigs.

The sick experiment wasn’t made public until the personal documents of one of the scientist were donated to the University of Pittsburg after his death in 2003.  But wait, the Guatemala scandal wasn’t the first time your government intentionally spread the disease.

The Guatemala experiment was based on an earlier experiment on prisoners in Terre Haute, Indiana, from 1943-44.  In that case we’re supposed to believe the prisoners volunteered for the job.  Realize that 1943-44 was in the middle of the Second World War and Congress had officially declared war, which is Martial Law.  Under martial law you have no freedoms, the military is in charge an overrides the Constitution.  But wait, the Indiana prison experiment wasn’t the first time your government intentionally spread the disease.

As far as we know, the first time the U.S. government intentionally spread syphilis started in 1932.  It was called that Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment, and it lasted until 1972!  It involved the ‘black’ Tuskegee University and hundreds of poor ‘black’ men.

Even though the government claimed they were providing free medical care, it was revealed that government officials refused to treat the subjects with the anti-biotic penicillin (even after it was proven to be an effective treatment).

By 1947 penicillin was the standard treatment for syphilis, yet, the U.S. Public Health Service refused to treat the infected men, even decades later.  The Tuskegee experiment ended in 1972 only after a whistleblower leaked details of it to the news media!  In 1997, president Bill Clinton officially apologized for the scandal.

Operation Jupiter: Hundreds of people exposed to AIDS and Hep B & C in U.S. hospital!

Christianity: Unity challenged by “sexual services” of church leaders!

U.S. Food Crisis February 2016: “it’s killing me to give it up, but I have no choice.” “This feels personal…”

Incomplete list of announced United States food supply shutdowns for the month of February, 2016: Many food suppliers/distributors are consolidating operations and killing jobs due to the collapsing grocery store and restaurant industries, as well as rising costs of food production, spread of disease and extreme weather.

Alabama:  In Birmingham, Cosi Restaurant announced it would not renew its lease.  After 30 years Cosmo’s Pizza shutdown,  the stressed out co-owner Leisa Bunn blames money troubles: “…I’ve worked here for over half my life, and it’s killing me to give it up, but I have no choice.”

Arizona: In Yuma, a local business is blaming currency wars for its demise. After two years restaurant Carnivores of Yuma shutting down due to lack of Snow Birds from Canada. The Canadian dollar has dropped in value against the U.S. dollar, making it too expensive for many Canadians to travel within the United States. I lived in hot-as-hell Yuma for almost two years and I can tell you that Snow Birds from the north, during winter, are a major source of revenue for local mom-n-pops. The rest of the year revenues come from taxpayer funded Yuma Marine Corps Air Station and Yuma Army Proving Grounds.

Arkansas: Boulevard Bread shutting down their River Market kiosk.

California:  In Oxnard, after 27 years frozen veggie food maker Coastal Green Vegetable shutting down, 137 jobs lost by March! The owners blamed currency wars, crashing sales and gave out a list of increasing costs; water, regulations, wages and ObamaCare healthcare.   Bon Appetit Management issued a shutdown WARN for their San Francisco ops, 79 jobs lost by April.  Albertsons-Safeway eliminating another 24 jobs from the old Safeway HQ in Pleasanton, by April.   In Berkeley,  after two years the Off the Grid food truck giving up and shutting down its Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) location.  Prior to this the Off the Grid food truck was chased out of its original location in the Gourmet Ghetto by city A-Hole administrators, when brick-n-mortar restaurants complained.  Warren Buffett owned Kraft-Heinz issued a shutdown WARN for their San Leandro food factory, 117 jobs lost by mid-April! Pacific Harvest issued a layoff WARN for their Guadalupe food ops, 75 jobs lost by mid-April. Valley Fine Foods suddenly shutdown their Benicia 22 years old production ops, 94 jobs gone. The company moved their production, sanitation, shipping and receiving and maintenance operation to North Carolina, loyal employees had no warning: “They were shocked and surprised. A few have been here a while, 17 years. Those were the hardest impacted. They appeared…..in shock, like phases of any loss, it’s shock and denial first.”-Adriana Nunez, HR manager

Colorado: CB & Pott’s shutting down their 42 years old West Campus restaurant.  The operators claim they will open a new restaurant in a new location “to be closer to our core guests.”   Yet another Denver restaurant shutdown. After 12 years popular Gypsy House Cafe shutting down mid-March due to the greedy property owners selling out without warning the operators of the Cafe.  In Fort Collins, after 30 years restaurant South China shutting down due to a significant increase in rent. The Vail Cascade resort issued a layoff WARN, 2-hundred jobs being eliminated!   Sky Hotel 39 Degrees issued a shutdown WARN, 91 jobs lost.

Connecticut:   In Wallingford, after 56 years banquet host Villa Capri shutting down in July.  The family owners are in the process of selling the property, they need to focus on their other business ops.

Florida:  Troubled Aramark issued a shutdown WARN for its Florida Gulf Coast University ops, 288 jobs lost by May! Tenants also suing the New York based food service management contractor hired by the city, Delaware North. Chris Janicek, the owner of Cupcake Omaha and Cake Box, exclaimed “This agency has run amok!”

Oklahoma: In OKC, Texas based Spaghetti Warehouse suddenly shutdown, with no explanation why: “After more than 30 years in the community, we have made the difficult business decision to suspend operations and announce the closure of the Spaghetti Warehouse Restaurant in Oklahoma City. The closure is effective on Tuesday, February 2nd. ….we are hopeful that in the near future we can reopen Spaghetti Warehouse….” (I did find a lot of internet postings by customers that hated the place, and were even surprised it was still open, many claimed it shutdown years ago)

Dumbing Down the United States, February 2016: Schools being used as sex torture prisons!

Disappearing Students Syndrome (DSS): A phrase created by me to describe a phenomenon taking place across the United States, affecting both privately and publicly funded schools, from Kindergarten all the way through University levels.

“If you grow up low income and manage to get higher education, which few people manage to do, the potential for that to lift you solidly up into the middle-class and upper-middle class is more limited than we thought.”-Brad Hershbein, W.E. Upjohn Institute for Employment

A Brookings Institute study (A college degree is worth less if you are raised poor) revealed some surprising data about what is now obviously the ‘lie’ of higher education: Using decades worth of data the researchers discovered that having a four year college degree does absolutely nothing to help low income people get out of poverty! It seems only people from wealthy families benefit from a college degree!

Incomplete list of publicly announced education layoffs & school shutdowns, and crimes, February 2016:

Arizona: Phoenix based Apollo Education Group selling off its failing University of Phoenix after losing more than 50-thousand students in 2015! The loss of students was the result of the U.S. Department of Education investigating claims of false promises of finding jobs after graduation, and the U.S. Department of Defense banning military personnel from taking University of Phoenix courses!

California: Inland Early Steps issued a shutdown WARN for their Corona operation, 79 jobs lost by April. The owner blames lack of sales and points out that the landlord actually tried to helped the bookstore.   In San Francisco, Pearson Education eliminated 34 jobs.  UTi shutting down their automotive school in Long Beach, 64 jobs gone by April.  Pinecrest Schools finally revealed how many jobs will be lost by their mass shutdown of campuses; 176 by June! Greedy Ojai Unified School District is deciding the fate of five elementary schools due to what I call Disappearing Students Syndrome and (this is so typical of California) the school’s property values! Local news reports say school administrators have already met with local real estate agents about selling off the schools!

Florida: In Palm Beach, after 35 years the Jupiter Academy private school shutting down, they can’t afford to renew the lease.  For profit Mattia College shutting down, 1-hundred jobs lost and more than 7-hundred nursing students looking for a new home. No word on an official shutdown date, but local news says pay for teachers has been cut off! This is the second nursing school in The Sunshine State, in the past two years, to shutdown. The top administrator of that other nursing school, Dade Medical, was recently arrested. This is all part of the U.S. Department of Education’s crackdown on schools that promise their students ‘The Moon’.

Idaho: State Senate Education Committee rejecting science education standards for K thru 12 students, saying they’re too hard!  However, some local news reports suggested that the ‘christian lawmakers’ rejected the new standards (without any discussion by-the-way) because they include evolutionary concepts like the Big Bang (never mind that scientists have just proven Big Bang with discovery of gravitational waves).  As I’ve written before looks like we’re entering a new Dark Age.  I remember when my kids were attending junior high school in District 25 (just a decade ago) and their science books opened with the statement “One day man will walk on the moon.”  You ‘christians’ are so dumb, no wonder it’s so easy for ‘The Good Shepard’ to lead you ‘lambs’ to your slaughter!

Illinois: Western Illinois University eliminating an additional 1-hundred jobs! They laid off 30 people in January.  Eastern Illinois University quietly issuing layoff notices to non-instructional staff (latest reports say as many as 2-hundred!). It’s blamed on the state ‘lawmakers’ failing to come up with a budget. The layoffs will start in March, university administrators say the state owes them at least $40-million USD.  In connection, the Test Center had to shut down temporarily “in order to train the remaining staff in the building to assume the duties of the lost positions”.  Chicago State University has warned all 9-hundred employees of impending layoffs due to ‘lawmakers’ failing to create a new budget! Chicago Public Schools (CPS) warning of even more layoffs after the teacher union rejected their latest offer. The Failed State system CPS claims it is lacking $500-million for its latest budget, but they’re actually $1-billion ‘in the hole’, structurally!  Danville Area Community College eliminating at least four jobs, offering early retirement and eliminating their Automotive and Sustainability programs: “These are challenging times, and it’s challenging because of the uncertainty”-Alice Jacobs, DACC President

The district is short $2.6-million USD, blaming lack of taxpayer funding caused by what I call Disappearing Students Syndrome. For the first time in 25 years Parkland College eliminating jobs, administrators blame the state ‘lawmakers’ for dragging their feet on taxpayer funding for the next school year.  Sycamore School District 427 eliminating at least 56 jobs: “We see other businesses where employees are just being told to do more with less, and unfortunately, that seems to be the mentality of our state government when incomes to education.”-Jim Dombek, District 427

Iowa: In Keokuk, the local Sheriff’s Department, and even the federal FBI, have shutdown the so called ‘therapeutic’ Midwest Academy after at least 80 cases of torture, including starvation, isolation and sex abuse.   Get this, police raided the torture chamber in January, but are only now telling the public about it.  Female victims told the Associated Press the ‘school’ was “hell”, with many students trying to kill themselves.  One girl was tortured for having a belly button ring!  Don’t confuse the Keokuk Midwest Academy with several others of the same name.  Midwest Academy is a privately funded “therapeutic boarding school”, which refers to its torture tactics as a “powerful, proven and unique system”.

Mississippi: Hattiesburg Public Schools cutting pay and eliminating jobs “immediately”. No details about how many jobs will be lost, local news reports say employees have not been notified.

Montana: More job killing at University of Montana; 27 jobs gone by the end of June, due to what I call Disappearing Students Syndrome (DSS).

New Jersey: Sussex County Community College eliminating 20 full time jobs due to crashing enrollments.   Upper Saddle River based Pearson Education finally revealed plans to eliminate 4-thousand jobs across the U.S.!  Administrators refused to give specifics about where those layoffs will impact: “Out of respect for all of our employees, it wouldn’t be appropriate to discuss the number of job cuts in a specific location before we inform our employees across the rest of our workforce.”

New York:  God powerless to stop ‘his’ Albany Roman Catholic Diocese from shutting down ‘his’ Saint Augustine school in Lansingburgh. Church leaders blamed the state government for refusing to give them taxpayer funding (which would be a violation of the U.S. 1st Amendment). In Hamburg, God powerless to stop the shutdown of ‘his’ Immaculate Academy. It’s blamed on lack of students, “changing realities within the congregation” and only one Nun on staff.   The Smithtown Board of Education forced to shutdown Branch Brook Elementary School by 2017. Administrators revealed that student enrollment has been declining since 2009.   NYC Department of Education shutting down three charter schools; Beginning with Children, Lefferts Garden and Staten Island Community.  “The Department of Education overturned a principal’s firing and gave her more than a year’s back pay so she wouldn’t file legal actions charging ethics violations by the DOE’s new top lawyer, sources say.”New York Post, Education officials ‘bought off’ principal…

Please do not fear for your position here at Agora.”-Mary Steffey

South Dakota:  The editors of the Rapid City Journal are calling for a hike in state taxes to support the governor’s proposed education funding plan.  This shows you how uneducated the Rapid City Journal is.  Tax revenues are down across the board, across the country, due to the bad economy.  Many political scientist will tell you that jacking up taxes during a down economy is a sign of a Fail State.  Many economist will tell you that jacking up taxes during a down economy will only snowball the downward spiral.  There is no ‘return’ on more education spending when fewer and fewer people are able to find a job that pays a ‘living wage’, and the small business environment is such that it’s not worth it to even try and start a small business.  (I’ve heard the mo-funding, mo-funding mantra for education for more than 30 years now and it’s plain to see that overall education has only gotten worse as more money is spent)   Grant-Deuel School District shutting down the school in Revillo, due to what I call Disappearing Students Syndrome (DSS): “You talk to any smaller school, smaller town and they are basically losing enrollment…..”-Paulette Grube, Dean of Students

Tennessee: More proof the real ‘god’ is money; God refuses to stop the shutdown of three of ‘his’ LifeWay Christian Store on Southern Baptist seminary campuses.  It’s blamed on the sale of Southern Baptist Convention property and changing spending habits of Christian students.

Utah: A fine example of no matter how much money ‘lawmakers’ promise to spend on education, if there ain’t no tax revenues (due to a bad economy) it ain’t gonna happen:  “A committee of lawmakers settled last week on a preliminary funding proposal ….with more than $266 million of it as ongoing funding…..   …..But dollar amounts in the final education budget could likely fall short….Revised income tax revenue estimates won’t be available until the end of February, and they’re projected to produce less than the $266 million of ongoing funds included in the subcommittee’s proposal.”Deseret News, Slicing and dicing money for your child’s education

West Virginia:  Cabell County Schools eliminating 61 jobs and transferring another 97! It’s blamed on the loss of 2-hundred students since 2014!  Kanawha County School Board eliminating 25 jobs due to what I call Disappearing Students Syndrome (DSS). Local news reports say DSS is the number one reason for education layoffs in southern West Virginia. McDowell County Board of Education eliminating 30 jobs due to loosing $1.5-million in state and local tax funding, caused by loosing an average of 1-hundred students per year (that’s what I call Disappearing Students Syndrome)!  Boone County Schools eliminating 77 jobs after the bad economy caused tax revenues to be cut by more than half: “There were signs that it was happening….just didn’t expect it all at once…came on very quickly….we just didn’t realize the enormity of it.”-Jerry Pcholinsky, Boone County Education president

Wisconsin: University of Wisconsin System-Extension eliminating 80 jobs due to a sudden and unexpected budget cut by Right to Work (you over) Scott Walker.  40 of the jobs were already vacant.
