Health professionals representing 20 countries gathered for the 22nd annual Health Emergencies in Large Populations (H.E.L.P.) course in Honolulu, from September 9th-20th. PACIFIC RING OF FIRE, August 2019: TREMOR EVENT HAS BEGUN
At Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, U.S. Navy SeaBees were recognized for their efforts to help with recovery after the July earthquakes.
In San Diego, the U.S. Navy conducted exercise Citadel Rumble, enlisting the help of Amateur Radio Emergency Service to test emergency radio communications between USN hospitals during natural disasters.

U.S. Marines and U.S. Army personnel are on standby in Honduras, at Soto Cano Air Base, to provide humanitarian assistance and disaster relief in the event of emergencies in the region.
On Oahu, military personnel from Indonesia, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Philippines, as well as Hawaii and Oregon National Guard units, converged for CBRNE (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, explosive) training, focusing on rescuing civilians from their homes, or places of employment.

James Cook University (JCU) held a Health and Humanitarian Action in Emergencies (HHAE) course as part of a global disaster coordination plan, during the first week of June 2019. The concept for HHAE was originally developed by the Center for Excellence in Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance from Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, United States, and JCU’s College of Health of Public Health, Medical and Veterinary Sciences.
