More Economic Decline: No more Idaho ShopKo? There never was a Shopko in Pocatello!

08FEB2019/23:35 UTC-07 Tango 06 (20 Bahman 1397/03 Jumada t-Tania 1440/05 Bin-Yin 4717)

The now chapter 11 bankrupt busted Wisconsin based Shopko announced more store shutdowns, including almost every store in the Pacific northwest/Rocky Mountain state of Idaho.

The Chubbuck Shopko, located on the Pine Ridge Mall property (and incorrectly listed as being in next-door Pocatello), is shutting down by May 2019.

Shopko’s latest shutdown list also includes two stores in Boise, one in Bonners Ferry, Nampa, Orofino, and Twin Falls.  Apparently pharmacy operations have already shutdown, being auctioned-off to British empire United Kingdom owned Alliance Boots-Walgreens as a result of the bankruptcy.

At this point the Idaho Falls Shopko is not on the shutdown list, but it should be noted that in January 2019 Shopko administrators said only 105 stores would close permanently, with three being in Idaho’s Treasure Valley area, but now it’s more than 250 stores nationwide!

At one time there were 12 Shopko stores in The Gem State of Idaho.
