More Fukushima Fallout: Another record high radiation spike! Robot finds major leak in Reactor 3! USN personnel hit with metallic taste! Japan pushes for nuke weapons deal with Turkey?

19 January 2014 (18:26 UTC-07 Tango 18 January 2013)/17 Rabi ‘al-Awwal 1435/29 Dey 1392/19 Gui-Chou (12th month) 4711

Tokyo Electric Power Company reports that a robot, being used to clear rubble from inside the exploded reactor Unit 3 building, discovered a major water leak pouring into a large floor drain.

TEPCo says they can’t see where the water is coming from (radiation levels inside the building are still so high humans will be immediately kilt[sic]).  They did admit that the basement of the building is still flooding with highly radioactive water (three years later).

Also, a water testing well next to reactor Unit 2 has spiked to a record high level of strontium-90.  More than 2.7 million becquerels per liter! The legal ‘safe’ limit in Japan is 30 becquerels per liter.

USN personnel involved in Operation Tomodachi reported a metallic taste in their mouths: “On that first day, we pretty much immediately started search and rescue. Next thing we know we’ve got this nasty, metallic taste in our mouth.”-Lindsay Cooper, former aviation bosun’s mate

This is exactly what Soviet rescuers at Chernobyl in 1986 reported, and most of them died from radiation contamination.  Now it’s also interesting that while the USN isn’t helping the personnel suffering from strange illnesses, all the ships that sailed into the Sea of Japan, after the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear explosions, went through massive NBC decontamination procedures.  Yet it looks like it’ll take an act of Congress to get the affected military personnel any help.

Beef prices in Japan continue to escalate. It’s being blamed on the drop in cattle ranchers and supply, mostly due to the radiation contamination in Fukushima Prefecture, which was a major agricultural area before the March 2011 nuke disasters: “Prices are coming close to nationwide levels and are much higher than before the disaster.”-Maruyama Tsutomu, National Federation of Agricultural Cooperative Association

In classic hypocrisy, Japan (a member of the U.S.-British empire led Trilateral Commission) is about to finalize a nuclear fuel reprocessing deal with Turkey (a member of U.S. led NATO). Not only will Turkey be able to reprocess spent fuel rods, but according to Japanese news media reports, Turkey could also extract weapons grade plutonium! Now what’s all the hubbub about Iran?

More Fukushima Fallout: Homeless people used as slave labor by Yakuza! Decontamination efforts are bogus? Don’t eat the fish! California getting hit with radiation! NSA coverup?

“The construction industry is 90% run by gangs.”-Hayashi Fuminori, construction employment manager who recently paid a $5-thousand USD fine for skimming wages

“Many homeless people are just put into dormitories, and the fees for lodging and food are automatically docked from their wages. Then at the end of the month, they’re left with no pay at all!”-Aoki Yasuhiro, Christian homeless advocate

An investigation by Reuters found massive contractor corruption and crime, regarding the ongoing disaster at the Fukushima Daiichi nuke facility.  At least 56 subcontractors are suspicious as they have not been certified by the Ministry of Construction.  At least five companies have no public records!

The former advisor to ex-Prime Minister Kan Naoto has implied that the whole ‘decontamination’ effort at Fukushima Daiichi is bogus: “There are many unknown entities getting involved in decontamination projects. There needs to be a thorough check on what companies are working on what, and when. I think it’s probably completely lawless if the top contractors are not thoroughly checking.”-Igarashi Takayoshi, Hosei University

This is not the first time Yakuza were involved with Fukushima Daiichi.  Back in 2011 I wrote about Tokyo Electric Power Company blaming many of their problems on Yakuza supplied workers.

The Japanese government is now authorizing the “throwaway” workers to be kept inside No Go radiation zones 24 hours a day.  Government officials claim it’s the only way they can speed up so called decontamination efforts for towns and cities inside the radiation danger zones.

This doesn’t make sense because a person can be safely exposed to radiation for a specific amount of time, so keeping them locked down in a radiation area for 24 hours will only speed up their exposure rate.  It will only increase the demand for cheap (or even free) “throwaway” workers!

A man in San Francisco, California U.S.A., is using a hand held geiger counter to test for radiation at Pacifica State Beach.  His video shows the geiger counter going past the ‘alarm’ stage, the closer he gets to the water.

Most geiger counters read radiation that is ‘surface’ radiation.  They can’t detect what is called Hot Particles, or airborne contamination.

Reports showing that most fish caught by fishermen near Fukushima are indeed contaminated.  This after many official reports saying catches were not contaminated.  That’s because people are being bribed to shut up: “Most of the fish caught within the 30 kilometer radius is thrown into the garbage because it is radiated. And TEPCo is paying to local fishermen for it, so that they’re happy and keep silent on that. Some of it though makes it to stores, but only locally.”-Kurosaki Hirokai, whistleblower economist

The Washington Times accusing the U.S. NSA (National Security Agency) of knowing U.S. military personnel were being irradiated while taking part in Operation Tomodachi, yet saying nothing to warn them.   NSA should have been privy to the massive amounts of phone calls from Tokyo Electric Power Company and Japanese government officials.

More Fukushima Fallout: Strontium reaches deep aquifer! USN personnel suffering radiation poisoning! Government to sell off TEPCo to pay for decontamination! Still no nuke evac plan!

“I get so angry. They said as long as the plume was avoided we would be fine!”-Jamie Plym, USN

U.S. sailors who served aboard the USS Ronald Reagan and USS Essex, during efforts to help the Japanese at the beginning of the Fukushima Daiichi disaster, are reporting illness linked to radiation contamination.  At least 51 sailors are attempting to sue Tokyo Electric Power Company (they should also sue GE, Hitachi and Toshiba).  The U.S. military personnel are suffering from strange growths on their bodies, thyroid and testicular cancers, leukemia, bronchitis and even unexplained and uncontrollable bleeding.  They claim medical testing confirm the symptoms are radiation poisoning.

For the first time, TEPCo is reporting that cesium and strontium is contaminating the aquifer under Fukushima Daiichi, 25 meters (82 feet) underground!  The contamination is coming from the GE designed, Hitachi built Reactor 4.  6.7 becquerels per liter of cesium 137, and 89 becquerels per liter of strontium were detected.

The Japanese government announced it will sell its shares of TEPCo stocks to raise cash to pay for decontamination efforts.  Lack of capitalist funding is the main reason for why the decontamination is being held up.   However, who wants to buy into a company that’s proven to be incompetent?

But wait, there’s more! The Japanese government is also increasing interest free loans to TEPCo.  About $87-billion USD worth!

TEPCo has agreed to decommission reactors 5 and 6 at Fukushima Daiichi.  Supposedly they suffered only cooling problems, and were shut down, but the Japanese government insisted they needed to be decommissioned before tackling the decommissioning of reactors 1 through 4.

The Japanese government says it will increase its paltry financial help for residents forced to leave the radiation contamination area.   The money is not coming from taxpayers, but supposedly from TEPCo.  Money will be used to rebuild homes.  People suffering mental stress have one year after evac orders are lifted to apply for a lump sum payment.  (lump?)

Remember, this disaster has been ongoing for three years!

And three years later, 60% of Japanese cities located within 30km (18.6 miles) of a nuclear power plant still have no evacuation plans in case of nuke disaster!  Local government officials within 30km of nuke plants are blaming local governments outside the 30km zone.  Officials within the 30km zones say they need places to evacuate to, outside of the evac zones, and that cities outside the zones are not set up to handle mass evacuees or casualties pouring in from other areas.  Yet another reason to dump nuke power!

Here’s another reason:  Researchers have been studying the forests around Fukushima Daiichi.  They’ve found high levels radiation at the root level of trees, about 1.8 microsieverts per hour.  Also, 50-thousand becquerels of radiation per kilogram is being found in the leaf fall and soil!  When it rains the radiation is washed downhill into streams and water supply for people. Currently there are no official efforts to clean up radiation contamination in the forests.

U.S. Military begins draw down from Operation Tomodachi

The U.S. Navy has withdrawn 10 ships from Japan. They say it’s because they are no longer needed for supply efforts, now that more roads have been cleared.

Most roads and rail systems in the north east of Honshu were destroyed in the 11 March disasters.

The U.S. still has plenty of troops in the area, including a special nuke team sent to the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant.

Why has the U.S. increased military help to Japan, and why are they going to pull out in mid-April?

The United States has continued to increase military help to Japan (Operation Tomodachi), to help deal with the disasters of 11 March.

Recently the USMC said it was sending a team specially trained in nuclear emergencies, and, the U.S. military is conducting a massive three day search for missing people in Japan, along with Japanese Self Defense Forces.

On top of that there are reports that the U.S. military is going to pull out most forces in Japan in mid-April.  The source of this info was not named.  It is thought some U.S. personnel will remain to help deal with the nuclear disaster.

It’s not just military personnel that the U.S. has sent, but personnel from other government agencies, as well as tons of equipment including radiation protected robots from the INL in Idaho. All this at taxpayer expense.

I know many experts, at the beginning of this Fukushima Daiichi disaster, said it wasn’t that bad, and rated it on par with Three Mile Island.  Those experts who called it another Chernobyl were dismissed by officials.  If that’s so, then why so much personnel and equipment from the United States?  And why, apparently, a pull out by mid-April?

Is there a reason 18,000 Japanese, and 7,000 U.S., troops will under take a massive, intensive search for missing people this weekend, then call it good after three days?  The official reason is that it will coincide with low tide along the coastline. The search will not take place in the radiation danger zone.

There’s a lot of evidence that the nuclear disaster is much worse than is being officially reported. For one, TEPCo has been caught lying about it’s radiation readings, twice now. Also, the IAEA, along with Greenpeace, has given their radiation readings which are much higher than what the government is issuing. The International Atomic Energy Agency has even asked for expanded mandatory evacuations, which the Japanese government said no to.

The problem for the United States is that the prevailing winds from Japan bring the radiation contamination right to it. The winds blow towards the U.S. from Japan.

So it is very likely that this nuclear disaster is worse than what is publicly stated, and, the United States is right in the path of any toxic wind from Japan.  Is this why the U.S. is sending so much help to Japan?

Why would U.S. forces begin ending their Operation Tomodachi in mid-April? Is it because only so much can be done to suppress a major disaster (like full melt down), and after that you need to get the hell outa Dodge? There is a time factor when dealing with nuclear disasters, and several experts stated it was time to start dumping concrete last week!

National Guard units in U.S. activated for Japan

Operation Tomodachi, the name of the relief effort by the U.S. military, includes several state, and territorial, Army and Air National Guard units.

Kentucky, Mississippi, Alabama and U.S. Territory of Guam Guard units have been activated to take part in helping Japan deal with a series of disasters, and to help with the evacuation of U.S. personnel and their families.
