This is just the tip of the complicated iceberg of international natural gas shenanigans that could plunge the globe into a new World War:
On 11FEB2022, the U.S. Army Recruiting Command announced new bonuses for recruits who can quickly ship-out for basic training: $5-thousand if you can ship-out within 90 days, $9-thousand if you can ship-out within 30 days, and somewhere in-between for those who can ship-out within 60 days!
On 11FEB2022, Japanese news media reported that the United States and Japan made a deal so that Japan could sell any surplus natural gas (LNG) to NATO Europe/European Union, in case Russia cuts off NATO Europe’s gas supply. 40% of NATO Europe’s LNG comes from Russia. The Japanese news media said Japan’s LNG shipments to Europe are set to start in March. Is that when the shit hits the fan in Europe?
It should be noted that Japan has to import LNG and/or refine it from imported oil. Recently Japan has cut back on LNG imports due to the skyrocketing cost of LNG, which is caused by the saber rattling in Europe. As a result, Japan’s stockpile of LNG is actually dropping. So is Japan’s offer to send (sell?) Europe LNG just a Paper Tiger?
On 03FEB2022, a report essentially stated that the hoped for state taxpayer funded Alaskan LNG project could result in a 43% reduction in LNG prices for Japan.
Another interesting report says Japan’s biggest oil/LNG company is about to begin LNG exploratory drilling off the West coast of Japan. Could this turn Japan into a net exporter of LNG?

Another report out of Japan, on 09FEB2022, revealed the Japan LNG deal with Biden is actually about the deal Biden made with Qatar. Apparently in retaliation, one of Japan’s top LNG buyers suddenly canceled its contract with Qatar! The Japanese report says Biden’s deal with Qatar also involves Afghanistan.
At the end of January 2022, it was revealed that President Joe Biden was negotiating with Qatar, to convince Qatar to supply LNG to NATO Europe in case ‘the balloon went up’.
Journalists who actually investigate reports discovered that Qatar itself might be a LNG Paper Tiger. It was discovered that Qatar is maxed out on LNG production, and the amount they could send to NATO Europe is actually insignificant.
Also, interestingly NATO Europe has been suing Qatar for the past three years, claiming Qatar is actually interfering with the creation of a new NATO Europe dominated LNG market, but suddenly on 11FEB2022, NATO Europe dropped the court claims!
The NATO/Ukraine saber rattling is causing LNG prices to go up worldwide. In the U.S., natural gas prices are going up, adding to inflation woes, because U.S. supplies of natural gas are increasingly being sent to the more profitable LNG market of NATO Europe! (In Arizona, LNG went up as much as 125%!!!) At the end of January 2022, the Industrial Energy Consumers of America warned Biden that increased LNG exports was bad for the economy, even “anti-consumer”!

In May 2019, the U.S. Coast Guard approved the ship Marvel Crane to carry LNG/Natural Gas. It is one of several LNG export projects planned for Louisiana in the next five to ten years.
