U.S. Job Losses & Store Closings, 24 – 28 October 2014: “We couldn’t make any money….” God raptures more Christian students? More job destruction by new EPA rules! Costco begins shutdowns? More proof food prices will skyrocket! No more Sprint?

Incomplete list of publicly announced layoffs & shutdowns:

Arkansas: Commodity broker Turner Grain Merchandising now chapter 11 bankrupt busted.  Farmers are now accusing the company of ripping them off by ay least $100-million USD.  Lawsuits say the commodity broker never paid them for grain deliveries, the questions now are where is the grain and where is the money?  Local reports say police have been cooperating with the FBI over a criminal investigation into the company, however the FBI refuses to comment.

California: In Aliso Viejo, reports that internet video game developer Carbine Studios laid off as many as 60 employees.  Company administrators confirmed there were layoffs but refused to give a number.  In Richmond, Hartmann Studios Rentals issued a WARN saying 219 people will become unemployed in December!  The WARN claims the layoffs are temporary.   In Upland, school bus contractor First Student issued a WARN saying they will cease operations by the end of December, 156 jobs lost!  In San Jose, HGST (formerly Japan owned Hitachi Global Storage Technologies, now owned by California based Western Digital)  issued several WARNs saying at least 76 people will be laid off by January 2015.  In Glendale,  LMC Services issued a WARN saying they will shutdown at the end of December, at least 93 jobs lost.  In Sunnyvale, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) laid off at least 57 people, without warning or public explanation.  Also in Sunnyvale, Microsoft-Nokia issued a WARN saying 13 people will become jobless three days after Xmas.   Verizon Wireless issued a WARN saying they will shutdown their Victorville ops the day after Xmas, 56 jobs lost.   In Jackson, Obama Care forcing Sutter Amador Hospital to warn of layoffs coming in January 2015.

Illinois: Too Big to Jail National Republic Bank of Chicago failed and was taken over by the FDIC and State Bank of Texas.

Indiana: After 100 years (surviving the Great Depression and numerous recessions) Clark Appliance now chapter 11 bankrupt busted. The owner blames climate change and the suck-ass economy: “We’ve had some serious challenges to overcome, namely the decrease in sales through the 2008 recession and the loss of our inventory at our Greenwood store due to flooding and mold issues.”-Bob Clark

Kansas: Overland Park based, but 80% Japan based SoftBank owned, cell phone service provider Sprint increased the number of people who will become jobless; now an additional 235 IT, portfolio management and network employees in Virginia will get the axe! That’s on top of the already 5-thousand jobs reportedly killed off by Sprint since December 2013!

Louisiana: God must really hate The Pelican State, three Christian schools shutting down in 2015:  Holy Ghost in New Orleans, Our Lady of Grace in Reserve and Saint Agnes in Jefferson!  Church administrators blame raptured, I mean what I call DSS (Disappearing Student Syndrome).  Enrollment at each school is now under 200.

Maine: Legacy Publishing laying off about 75 people by November.  Company administrators say the economy is forcing them to make a “strategic” move to internet sales only.

Mississippi: Diammonium phosphate fertilizer maker Mississippi Phosphates now chapter 11 bankrupt busted, at least 200 jobs in limbo! It’s blamed on a shortage of raw materials, but reports say the company has also been in trouble with government environmental regulations.

New Jersey: Membership store Costco (formerly known as Price Club) announced they’re shutting down their Hackensack store sometime in 2015.  But it’s only because they’re building a new store three miles away in Teterboro.  Company administrators told local news media they haven’t decided what to do with the Hackensack property, yet.  The move might result in huge property tax losses for Hackensack.

New Mexico: In Albuquerque, after 41 years Dee’s Cheesecake Factory restaurant shutdown.

New York: More proof the internet is not the cause of the demise of brick-n-mortar stores: Internet seller vente-privee issued a WARN saying they will cease their NYC ops in January 2015, at least 133 jobs lost!  Nutritional supplements maker NBTY issued a WARN saying they are getting rid of dozens of their in-house janitors at their Holbrook, Bohemia, Bayport and Ronkonkoma operations by January 2015.  The Visiting Nurse Service of New York Home Care (VNSNY) added more people to their Obama Care job culling; dozens of healthcare workers at 13 locations will become jobless in January 2015.

North Carolina: In Durham, after 37 years Leo’s Seafood shutdown. The old owners blame the skyrocketing cost of fish, saying “Fish used to be one of the cheapest meats you could buy, it’s not like that anymore!” By the way neither one of the owner’s name is Leo.

Ohio: RockTenn announced it’s shutting down their 7 decades old Oakley cardboard factory at the end of December, at least 63 jobs lost.  Company administrators blame new EPA rules, saying it’s not worth it to upgrade the factory to meet the new regulations.

Pennsylvania: In Pittsburgh, after 22 years Garfield Artworks announced it will shutdown in December.  No official reason given, but recently one of the owners was quoted as saying “We couldn’t make any money on the arts…”

South Carolina: Conway based special industrial metals maker Metglas warned of layoffs do to a sudden crash in sales to China.   Company administrators refused to give a number, but some reports say as many as 200 employees are threatened.

Texas: What housing market recovery?  In Dallas, maker of roofing materials GAF (General Aniline & Film) Materials announced it will layoff 40 people in December.   PlanesCapital Bank announced it will shutdown 11 offices by January 2015. It’s a result of the failure of troubled First National Bank of Edinburg/National Bank of El Paso, back in September.   The FDIC ended up taking control of at least three First National  offices, the rest were put under control of PlanesCapital.

Virginia:  In Manassas, after 49 years iconic Kline’s Freeze soft serve ice cream shop killed off by greedy property owner: “We have been informed by our landlord that the Kline’s Freeze property is being sold. It seems our little blue and white building, serving our loyal customers and friends for 49 years will be torn own sometime in 2015.”-James and Lorraine Kline Croushorn, shop owners

Washington: Legal drugs pusher Amgen announced they will shutdown their Seattle area ops, killing off 274 jobs by 31 December, another 386 jobs will be killed off in 2015!  The announcement comes just a couple of days after Amgen announced it would kill off 349 jobs in California three days before Xmas! It’s all part of Amgen’s plans to kill off a total of 29-hundred jobs by the end of 2015!

Wisconsin: CNH (aka CASE, International Harvester, New Holland) is joining competitor Deere and shutting down farm tractor production.  150 second shift employees will become unemployed on 01 December, at the Mount Pleasant factory!  Xten Industries issued a WARN saying they’re selling off their plastic molding factory in Kenosha, resulting in 120 people becoming unemployed between December 2014 and January 2015!   What’s interesting is Xten has been declared to be a fast growing company (150% from 2012-13!). Reports I read said company administrators refused to say why they were selling off their Kenosha factory.

Arizona:  Scrap book store Paper and Metal Scrappers shutdown.  It’s blamed on health problems.

Arkansas: The administrators of Fort Smith city are pissed off because the economy is not recovering for them, an undisclosed number of taxsucking city jobs will be eliminated: “It may be time for us to consider a fundamental change in our General Fund services and the number of employees. We have experienced this fiscal stress for at least 6 years, and there doesn’t appear to be an end in sight. The increasing frustration with the budget difficulties year after year may have to be solved by re-evaluating our ability to sustain current service and employment levels in the General Fund…..Over the last few days, we’ve had to reduce General Fund spending requests by $1.7 million to get to a 7.5% ending balance. And, those figures don’t account for any pay adjustments. If pay adjustments are included, the needed reductions become $2.6 million. We don’t have many vacant General Fund positions. The police dept. has frozen 8 patrol officer positions for the last 2 years, and will likely need to do so in 2015 in order to meet their budget targets.”-Ray Gosack, administrator

California: Sears Holdings announced the Rocklin Kmart will be shutdown, 63 jobs lost.  In Newbury Park, legal drugs pusher Amgen issued a WARN saying they will kill off 349 jobs just three days before Xmas! It’s all part of Amgen’s plans to kill off a total of 29-hundred jobs by the end of 2015!  Company administrators say things are so bad they might have to break the drug pushing operation up into smaller parts. In Redding, ‘couples’ media op XO Group issued a WARN saying they will shutdown in January 2015, at least 113 jobs lost!  In San Jose, Supertech-Microchip issued a WARN saying they will layoff 83 people just two days before Xmas! In Fallbrook, Obama Care forcing Fallbrook Home Health and Hospice to issue a WARN saying they will shutdown just three days before Xmas, 37 jobs lost.

Connecticut: Sears Holdings announced the Torrington Kmart will be shutdown, 73 jobs lost.

Florida:  In Miami, another iconic bar shutdown. After 101 years (surviving the Great Depression and numerous recessions) Tobacco Road Bar being shutdown by the greedy property owner, who refuses to renew the lease.

Michigan: Administrators at Spring Arbor University are blaming what I call DSS (Disappearing Student Syndrome) on their planned elimination of jobs.  As a private Christian college they are not required to reveal just how many Christians will become jobless.  In Grand Rapids, the Diplomat Pharmacy on Fulton Street shutdown.  Local news says company administrators refused to say why, but it sounds like the compounding pharmacy is consolidating ops.

Minnesota: Rochester Public Schools announced that 17 tech employees will become jobless by January 2015.  But here’s an odd thing, the school district also said there will be 19 new job openings in the same department!  The laid off employees are basically being forced to re-apply for employment, and if they get re-hired it’ll probably be for less pay.  That’s the wisdom of our education system.

Mississippi: The Department of Transportation announced they will render 44 Appraisals and Titles employees jobless by the end of January 2015.  MDoT administrators are blaming it on lack of work.

New York:  In Long Island, after ten years the Communitea coffee shop shutdown, the owners saying “We have been unable to renew the lease…”   Frank Adams Jewelers shutdown their profit making store in Saratoga Springs, saying the logistics of managing multiple stores was too difficult.  Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia finally revealed that 114 NYC jobs are being killed off.  Earlier media reports said it was at least 50 jobs, but Martha Stewart finally issued a WARN stating 114 people will become jobless in January 2015!  The Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center sold off its Chronic Dialysis Centers in Bay Shore and Lindenhurst, at least 102 jobs in limbo!  Sears Holdings announced the Massena Sears and Auto Center will be shutdown, at least 51 jobs lost.  Sears Holdings announced the Auburn Sears and Auto Center will be shutdown, at least 51 jobs lost.  In Pearl River, legal drugs pusher Pfizer issued a WARN saying at least 16 people will become unemployed by December, the company is trying to cut costs.

Ohio: Oberlin College told three HVAC engineers to take a big cut in pay and become janitors or become unemployed!  College administrators called it a “opportunity for voluntary layoff”.  It’s blamed on the the college’s switch from coal heating to natural gas.   Butler County eliminated 14 jobs by shutting down the Family Connections operation, as well as five other Children Services jobs.  County administrators are contracting out the jobs to save money as a result of the radical changes in Medicaid payments caused by Obama Care.

Oregon: Netflix announced they’re shutting down their Hillsboro DVD call center by June 2015, at least 188 jobs lost! Netflix says if their Oregon employees want to stay employed they must move to a call center in California or a live streaming center in Utah.

Pennsylvania: Administrators of Franconia revealed they’ve culled 10 jobs, including six cops.  One paranoid police sucking resident (Carrie Horchuck) told local news media “I pay taxes for a reason. I want to feel safe.”  Let’s just bring back the massive police state known as the Soviet Union, and ship all you paranoids to the glorious USSR so you can feel safe.  Read the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. was not created so you can feel “safe”!

Vermont: In Richmond, after 14 years the Bridge Street Cafe shutdown. The owner said “I’m an old man” and his even older mother wants to live in Florida.

Virginia: In Altavista, after only four years investment management company Intersections announced it is shutting down its call center in December, 77 jobs lost.  Administrators blame a “decline in revenue caused by changes to the regulatory environment and financial sector”.

Alabama: Sears Holdings announced the Huntsville Kmart will be shutdown, 73 jobs lost.

California: In Burbank, Disney issued a WARN saying they will kill off 60 Walt Disney Pictures jobs in December.  In Fallbrook, Obama Care forcing Fallbrook Hospital to issue a WARN saying they will kill off 365 jobs in December!  In El Segundo, Hacienda Hotel says they will temporarily shutdown in December, 28 jobs lost.  In Hollywood, after 32 years the iconic Cat & Fiddle restaurant shutdown by the greedy landlord: “Looks like the landlord would prefer a chain to move into this gorgeous building instead of having us here. The landlord lives out of town and doesn’t really know Hollywood. He just knows Hollywood is booming and he can get a heck of a lot more money.”-Ashlee Gardner, co-owner of restaurant

Delaware: In Stanton, after 58 years Pearson’s flag store shutdown.

Illinois: In Buffalo Grove, after almost 30 years Winberie’s Restaurant & Bar shutdown.  Sears Holdings announced the 52 years old Bloomington Kmart will be shutdown, 79 jobs lost.

Indiana:  Sears Holdings announced the Greenwood Kmart will be shutdown, 78 jobs lost.

Iowa: Farm equipment maker Deere continues job killing, this time 462 people in Waterloo are now jobless!

Kansas: 80% Japan based SoftBank owned cell phone service provider Sprint revealed how many more jobs it will kill off: 452 jobs just at its Overland Park HQ!  Sprint has already killed off 477 Overland Park HQ jobs earlier in 2014!

Kentucky: In Greensville, after almost 40 years Uncle Lee’s sporting goods store shutdown, 90 jobs lost.

Louisiana: Rhode Island based taxsucker Texton Systems will render 200 people in Slidell jobless in November!  Local news reports said the local city administrators hoped the layoffs at the military vehicle factory was temporary.  The Times-Picayune moving its printing ops out of state in 2015, affecting at least 100 jobs!

Massachusetts: In Newbury, God refused to stop the shutdown of the 187 years old Community United Methodist Church.  Church officials blame it on crashing membership (rapture?).

Michigan: Sears Holdings announced the Iron Mountain Kmart will be shutdown, 54 jobs lost.

Minnesota: Lakeside Foods announced it will kill 90 jobs at its Plainview factory in November. Administrators blame it on the loss of a contract with Hormel Foods.  In Duluth, after 12 years the Brownie Furniture store shutdown.

New York: In NYC, Turner Broadcasting said they will begin layoffs in January 2015.  In Flushing, Korean Plaza food store issued a WARN saying they will shutdown by December, 60 jobs lost.  In Brooklyn, the operators of music venue Grasslands announced it will shutdown after New Years Eve.  In Buffalo, the Pizza Plant restaurant shutdown because of the greedy landlord: “We couldn’t come to terms with the landlord on a lease.”-Bob Syracuse, owner

Pennsylvania: Sears Holdings announced they will shutdown the Lebanon, Chambersburg, Bloomsburg, Frackville, King of Prussia and Pittsburgh Mills Sears stores, 465 jobs lost!  In Gettysburg the operators of the Civil War museum, Soldiers National Museum, said they are shutting down in November.  They blame crashing visitation. After 35 years the K-9 Corral Jeans & Western Wear store shutdown.

Texas: Irving based toilet paper and disposable diaper maker Kimberly-Clark announced it will kill off more than 1-thousand jobs after October!  Kimberly-Clark is also spinning off its health care division, known as Halyard Health.

U.S. Job Losses & Store Closings, 17 – 18 October 2014: Golden State kills off 1000+ jobs after Natives lead armed insurrection! More proof the internet is not killing brick-n-mortar stores!

California:  Yet another internet clothing retailer going down?  From “America’s Fastest-Growing Retailer” to becoming a fast killer of jobs ModCloth let go another 50 employees.  Back in July they let go 70.  An unnamed spokesperson said “While our company is still growing faster than the industry as a whole, we have been impacted by the broader downturn affecting the retail sector.”  In San Francisco, after 20 years the Eagle Donuts shop shutdown. The owner said her sales could barely handle the rent increases, but when the price of milk, sugar, and even minimum wage for employees went up, her donut sales couldn’t handle it anymore.  In Santa Anna, THINK Together issued a WARN saying 77 people will become unemployed before Xmas.  In Coarsegold, Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino shutdown by state and federal administrators, without notice, 1034 people are now unemployed!  Local news reports say there is some kind-o confrontation between two tribal factions over control of the casino.  State and federal administrators ordered the casino shutdown after a second armed invasion of the  casino took place.  Many customers have pre-paid for future events to be held at the resort-casino and say nobody at the government level will answer their questions about getting their money back.  The shutdown is supposed to be temporary.  In Magalia, after 44 years the Paradise Pines Golf Course shutdown.  The property owners blamed skyrocketing utilities and property taxes: “…we have not had a qualified buyer to date and we had to come to a decision, and that decision was at the end of the month we’re closing the golf operations. The rounds of golf were not adequate to support ongoing operations and expenses…”-Bob Fortino, ceo

Colorado: Outdoor clothing and camping gear maker GoLite now chapter 11 bankrupt busted.  They owe lots-o-money to lots-o-Chinese companies.

Illinois: In Arlington Heights, after 34 years Classic Oak Designs furniture store shutdown “…due to the sale of the building and untimely death of its longtime owner.”

Indiana: In Elkhart, after 111 years (surviving the Great Depression and numerous recessions) Lilly’s Party supply store shutdown: “I think as a result of the economic downturn, people’s shopping habits changed radically, and they don’t shop the way they used to. They don’t spend money on parties the way they used to. They still come to us for the big events, but we can’t live on just the big events. We need the little ones in between, too.”-Sarah Snyder, owner

Maryland: Too Big to Jail NBRS Financial failed and was taken over by the FDIC and Howard Bank.

Minnesota: After 31 years the Albertville Creamery Antiques shutdown.

Montana: Evil Coca-Cola shutdown their Great Falls bottling plant, with little notice. Local news reports said that employees were threatened with the loss of their piddly severance if they went public with how many people lost their jobs. Coca-Cola administrators claim they will help some employees transfer to other bottling plants. In Bozeman, Sears Holdings announced they will shutdown the  Kmart, 37 jobs lost.

New Hampshire: Grade school education assessor Measured Progress actually regressing when it comes to jobs; 40 people laid off.  Company administrators blame the bad economy.

New York: Too Big to Jail First Niagara Financial Group revealed they are shutting down 17 offices starting in January 2015!

North Carolina:  What housing market recovery?  Winston-Salem based Too Big to Jail BB&T (Branch Banking & Trust) revealed it began culling 800 jobs, mainly mortgage related, across several eastern states back in September!  News reports say BB&T has warned since 2013 of the need to reduce jobs relating to home mortgages.  In Tarboro, one of the largest wire and cable manufacturers in the World laid off 100 people!  Administrators of Superior Essex blame the demise of the landline phone.  Sears Holdings announced they will shutdown their Cary Towne Center Sears, 66 jobs lost.

Ohio: Strongsville Schools announced they will layoff at least 25 teachers over five years.  Administrators blame DSS (Disappearing Student Syndrome).  The district has lost 1724 students since 2004!

Pennsylvania: Sears Holdings announced they will shutdown their Pittsburgh Mills mall Sears Grand store and Auto Center, 97 jobs lost.

Utah: CML Mines ended production at their Comstock Mountain Lion ops, at least 127 jobs lost (they laid off 24 people in March)!  Company administrators blame it on the crashing price of iron ore.  Union Pacific railroad is now threatening a lawsuit over unpaid freight shipments.

Virginia:  In Fredericksburg, after six years the Pinkadilly Tea restaurant shutdown. The owner, a former worker in the mortgage industry, blamed it on crashing sales.  In Norfolk, newspaper The Virginian-Pilot announced it will eliminate 32 jobs by the end of December, blaming crashing advertising revenues.

U.S. Job Losses & Store Closings, 15 – 16 October 2014: “Hey! We all just got laid off! Thanks!” Obamacare off-shores U.S. jobs! Martha Stewart lies to her employees and joins massive exodus from NYC? The economy tells LOTR ‘You shall not pass!’

California: Warner Brothers administrators revealed they must kill off an undisclosed number of movie industry jobs in order to save at least $200-million USD per year!  Sunnyvale based AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) revealed they will kill off 700 jobs around the World, blaming crashing sales of computers!  Sunnyvale based internet company Yahoo confirmed it will kill off at least 80 jobs in the country of Jordan, and 400 jobs in the country of India!  Reports say Yahoo will kill off jobs in other countries as well, due to the suck-ass World economy.  In Chatsworth, Albertelli Law issued a WARN saying 66 people will become unemployed before Xmas.  In Rancho Cucamonga, intravascular imaging medical company Volcano Corporation issued a WARN saying 170 people will become unemployed before Xmas!  In San Diego, The Active Network issued a WARN saying 65 people will become unemployed before Xmas.   In Santa Clara, Bon Appetit Management issued a WARN saying they will shutdown in November, 97 jobs lost.  In Modesto, Olam Spices issued a WARN saying they will kill off 242 jobs before Xmas!  In El Centro, Sears Holdings issued a WARN saying the Kmart will shutdown in January 2015, at least 75 jobs lost.  Unnamed former employees revealed that Obama Care is forcing American Medical Response (owned by Envision Health) to save money by shutting down its Salida billing center and move it to Philippines, 200 U.S. jobs lost!

Georgia: Atlanta based CNN (Cable News Network) revealed they will kill off 300 jobs across the United States!  It’s part of the massive job culling by owner Time Warner-Turner Broadcasting.

Indiana: In Newburgh, after 32 years the popular Pizza Chef restaurant shutdown.  What automotive industry recovery?  In Mishawaka, taxsucker, and maker of the (in)famous Hummer, AM General laid off 60 people.  However, the company had actually recalled 200 people earlier in the year due to increased demand for the military general utility machine.  In Muncie, after 18 years Party Wizards announced it will shutdown at the end of December.

Iowa: In Des Moines, Too Big to Jail Wells Fargo shutdown an office laying off 28 people.  The California based bank continues to report profits.

Maine: Sears Holdings announced they will shutdown the Presque Isle Sears in January 2015, at least 63 jobs lost.

Massachusetts: Maker of Lord of the Rings video games Turbine (owned by Warner Brothers [see above California] and formerly known as Turbine Entertainment Software, Second Nature, and CyberSpace) admitted to killing off jobs, but refused to give a number. Obama Care has caused Southcoast Health to layoff 70 people.  Administrators say their 2014 revenues are down 3% due to pro-insurance industry Obama Care.

Minnesota: In Rochester, Barnes & Noble announced they will shutdown after Xmas.

New York: South Buffalo Charter School laid off eight teacher assistants, apparently they were determined to be ‘excess’ employees.  In Batavia, Alpina Foods laid off 32 people, without notice. Administrators blame it on the sudden loss of a major yogurt contract.  Pharmaceutical company (legal drugs pusher) Forest Laboratories revealed it will shutdown seven facilities by mid 2015, in the cities of Commack, Farmingdale, Hauppauge and New York.  Number of jobs lost has not been revealed.  The druggy company sold out to Actavis, which is apparently moving operations to New Jersey.   In NYC, magazine publisher Condé Nast to layoff as many as 80 people, blaming lack of advertising sales.  And it was revealed that Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia killed off at least 50 jobs.  The news was leaked by Confitenti and shocked the employees of Martha Stewart, who indicated that company administrators had been leading them on to think everything was fine at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia.   Also in NYC, RBC Capital Markets-Global Arbitrage and Trading issued a WARN stating they were getting the hell outta New York!  Company administrators say they’re moving ops to New Jersey in 2015, affecting at least 1-thousand jobs!

North Carolina: What housing market recovery? In Greenville, Georgia based maker of carpets (and other household flooring) Mohawk Industries announced they will shutdown in December, 56 jobs lost.

Tennessee: In Knoxville, at least 23 people now unemployed after the two decades old Metro Pulse newspaper decided to consolidate publications.  The news was announced by the victims, I mean former employees on social media: “Hey! We all just got laid off! Thanks, @knoxnews and @EWScrippsCo!”

Texas: In Arlington, after ten years The Shoppes at Brownstones to officially shutdown at the end of December.  It was revealed that the shopping center (which replaced a much, much longer lived and successful skate rink) totally failed back in June and was foreclosed.

Virginia: State administrators warned they will probably kill off 565 employees due to crashing tax revenues! No shit Sherlock, that’s what you’re supposed to do when you’ve screwed up the economy by letting big unAmerican Corporate America kill off millions of good paying-tax paying jobs!  State administrators revealed that the economy is so bad in the Old Dominion State that they’re short $2.4-billion!  Oh wait, I forgot to tell you that the evil politicians also plan on raising taxes on top of the job culling! (that’s not what you’re supposed to do, unless you want to guarantee a failed state!)  In Richmond, iconic state run horse racing track Colonial Downs threatening to go down in November, due to some kind-o dispute.  State administrators said they would counter by jacking up your taxes!  To quote Bugs Bunny: “What a bunch a moroons!”

Alabama: The U.S. Army Fleet Support to layoff as many as 300 people at Fort Rucker, before xmas!  It was revealed by labor unions.  The aircraft maintenance contracts are based on the flying hours of Army aircraft, and since flying hours have been drastically cut (by 49-thousand hours) to save taxpayer money it follows that people will lose their jobs.

Alaska: In Fairbanks, after 68 years Larson’s Fine Jewelers announced they will shutdown after xmas.

California: Kroger announced they’re shutting down yet another Ralph’s grocery store, this time in Santa Clarita in November.  Taxsucking Boeing announced 139 layoffs for December at three locations!  In San Francisco, evil taxsucking British empire company BAE warned of 201 layoffs for September!

Florida: In Tampa, New York based ‘outsourcing’ company IQor shutting down beginning in December, 107 jobs lost!  In Cape Coral, after 50 years Lisa Lynn Dance World shutdown, the owner blames the suck-ass economy for disappearing students: “Because of the economy, the enrollment dropped and the money wasn’t there.”-Rita Rose Meyer

Illinois: In Galva, after 18 years pet food maker All Feed Processing and Packaging shutting down. Apparently they’ve violated many OSHA workplace safety rules.

Iowa: In Evansdale, video store Digital Dog Pound shutdown.

Kentucky: In Louisville, after 34 years the Saint Matthew’s Batting Cages shutdown.

Michigan:  Detroit Medical Center going to a new contracted janitor service putting 565 jobs at seven hospitals in limbo, right before xmas!  Unions are suing saying it violates current deals.

Missouri:  In Saint Louis, Boeing laying off 70 employees as part of the hundreds being laid off across the country in connection with crashing sales of its 777 airliner.

New Hampshire: Now bankrupt Apple computer-phone sapphire supplier GT Advanced Technologies (GTAT) now hangs 900+ jobs in limbo!  Factories in Arizona and Massachusetts could be shut down in December.  Local Mesa, Arizona, news reports say GTAT got big time taxpayer breaks for setting up shop there.  GTAT was supposed to make unbreakable phone screens for Apple, but some reports say the screens didn’t work out the way they were supposed to.

New Jersey: Freefall Adventures skydiving now chapter 11 bankrupt busted, administrators blame the cost of repairs on two aircraft.

North Carolina: Poultry food producer House of Raeford announced they’re shutting down their turkey cooking factory by Xmas, 400 jobs lost! Company administrators say the cost to process turkeys for grocery stores has skyrocketed 250% since last year, and they know customers are not willing to pay for it! House of Raeford is also killing their contracts with 140 turkey farms! In 2013 House of Raeford killed 1060 jobs, again because of skyrocketing operating costs!

Alabama: In Spanish Fort, after four years Tacky Jacks restaurant shutdown. The owners say their restaurant needs improvements which they can’t afford.

California: In Davis, eight years old Marrone Bio Innovations announced the elimination of about 35 jobs, blaming crashing sales and a “shareholder revolt”.   In Canoga park, Too Big to Jail Bank of America warned it will layoff 57 people in December.

Florida: Jacksonville based grocery store operator Bi-Lo announced they are shutting down 23 Bi-Lo and Winn Dixie stores by November. That includes the stores in Alabama (mentioned above) and stores in Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, North Carolina and South Carolina. At least 1-thousand food jobs lost! It’s blamed on Bi-Lo’s takeover of Winn-Dixie and Delhaize America grocery stores.

Indiana: Miami County approved the termination of 11 jobs, and reduce five full time jobs to part time.  County officials are expecting a $2-million USD tax revenue decrease by 2016!

Kentucky:  Huntington Bank shutting down two offices in December.

Michigan: Administrators with Hiller’s grocery stores warned their unionized employees that “severe financial problems” could lead to hundreds of layoffs if a new contract isn’t agreed to. Hiller’s administrators directly blamed skyrocketing Obama Care insurance costs as a major contributor to their “severe financial problems”!

Missouri: Asset manager DST Systems announced it will kill off 150 jobs in Missouri, Connecticut and India!

New York: The city of Lockport eliminated nine jobs without warning.  City administrators say they must borrow $4.6-million to stay alive!  In Rochester, Eastman Kodak announced more layoffs, this time 71 people to become unemployed in December.  In NYC, healthcare provider SinglePoint Care Network warned they will shutdown in January 2015, at least 22 jobs lost.  In Buffalo, food processor Zemco announced they are shutting down in January 2015,  at least 287 jobs lost! In Ronkonkoma, Bay Shore and Coram Suffolk Bus warned their contracts expire in January 2015, putting 508 jobs in limbo!

North Carolina: In Statesville, JR Cigar announced it will shutdown in December, 77 jobs lost.  The property owners are planning to “redevelop” the land.

Ohio: In Lorain, Republic Steel revealed they had laid off 105 employees back in September!  In Canton, a local newspaper reported that Republic Steel laid off more than 100 employees between August and October!  Company administrators blame competition from foreign steel makers, whom they claim are ‘dumping’ steel on the U.S. market.

Pennsylvania: The Bon-Ton announced it will shutdown a store in Pennsylvania and a store in West Virginia, by January 2015, at least 77 jobs lost.  Company administrators blame crashing sales.

Texas: What housing market recovery?  In Plano, Too Big to Jail Bank of America announced it is downsizing its Home Loan Originations units, and killing off 187 jobs in November!  In Houston, after 10 years Spring Branch Health Care Center shutting down: “The facility is being closed as the landlord has made the decision to sell the property to a third party.”-company statement

Wisconsin: Troubled Manitowoc Ice announced even more layoffs, this time 160 people will become unemployed between December 2014 and March 2015!  Back in March 2014 company administrators said they were shifting production of new ice machines to Mexico.  Tax sucking military truck maker Oshkosh announced it is laying off as many as 370 people!  Company administrators proudly stated that despite the reduction in sales “We’re still the number one global manufacturer of tactical wheeled vehicles for the military”.

Alabama: Winn-Dixie shutting down five grocery stores by November, about 325 jobs lost!

California: Palo Alto based 75 years old Hewlett-Packard (HP) announced it will kill off 5-thousand more computer-printer related jobs!  Nothing Meg Whitman has tried is working to save the company, and now (late in the game) she wants to focus on 3-D printing.

Georgia:  Time Warner owned Turner Broadcasting System announced it will kill off about 1475 jobs across the country before the end of the year!  The majority of job cuts will be in Atlanta.

Kansas: 80% Japan based SoftBank owned cell phone service provider Sprint killing off more jobs!  Sprint has already killed off more than 300 jobs and shutdown 55 stores earlier in 2014!  No word on just how many people will become unemployed this time.  The city of Galena warned of a 40% tax increase and the killing off of ten city jobs.  Just like dumb-ass politicians, the city is losing money due to falling tax revenue, which is caused by the suck-ass economy, so the politicians jack up the taxes even more!

Maine: The University of Southern Maine continues to kill off jobs, this time 50 people now unemployed and two programs canceled.  They continue to blame a 30% crash in student enrollment (what I call Disappearing Student Syndrome, or DSS)!

Michigan: In Allen Park, after three years the Daily Scoop sweat eats shop shutdown, the owners blaming the suck-ass economy.  Customer’s lamentations prove that just because you have great customer service doesn’t mean you won’t fail: “This breaks my heart. The work you did and the love you have shown this community will be so sorely missed. The individual attention you showed my kids, made them feel so special. Thank you for that. Montana: In Kalispell, after 40 years the Sizzler steak restaurant shutdown, 25 jobs lost. Local news reports say the owner ran out of money.

Nebraska: After surviving the Great Depression and many recessions, maker of store fixtures Store Kraft shutdown without notice, at least 100 jobs lost: “We knew something was going on, but every time we tried to clarify something they played dumb. Leave us in the dark, that’s all they did! There were people crying, and all those people that you work with are wonderful.”-Cindy Nevaril-Buss, final assembly employee

New Hampshire: Apple computer-phone sapphire supplier GT Advanced Technologies now chapter 11 bankrupt busted, and they blame Apple: “With a classic bait-and-switch strategy, Apple presented GTAT with an onerous and massively one-sided deal in the fall of 2013. In hindsight, it is unclear whether Apple even intended to purchase any sapphire furnaces from GTAT.”-Daniel Squiller, COO

New York: In NYC, Holiday Inn Soho warned it will shutdown, supposedly for a year of renovations, 74 jobs lost.  In Fishkill, Mid Hudson Medical Group revealed they have sold out to Mount Kisco Medical Group, 746 healthcare jobs now in limbo!  That Which Cannot be Named refuses to stop the selloff of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine Yeshiva University Substance Abuse Treatment program at three Bronx locations, 189 jobs now in limbo!

North Carolina: There’s no beef in Elizabeth City as yet another Arby’s restaurant shuts down.

Oregon: After three years the owners of the Cosmic Soda & Candy Shop announced they will shutdown in time for Xmas.

Texas: Tax sucking Bell Helicopter laid off 80 employees in Amarillo, and 235 in Fort Worth, due to cutbacks in the V-22 VTOL Osprey program and the loss of the OH-58 Kiowa program!  Bell Helicopter also killed 36 jobs in Mexico and 200 in Canada!

Virginia: Falls Church based tax sucking government security company (which specializes in doing background checks on you) USIS announced it will kill off 25-hundred jobs across the country, due to the loss of U.S. Office of Personnel Management contracts!  In Virginia Beach, management of the Christian founded The Founders Inn and Spa is changing yet again, 208 jobs affected!

California:  In Costa Mesa, Too Big to Jail City National Bank warned of layoffs in December.  In Hawthorne, evil Cerberus owned Albertson’s grocery store warned it will shutdown in November, 78 jobs lost.  What housing market recovery?  In Ontario, maker of windows and doors Atrium warned it is shutting down in December,  131 jobs lost!

Massachusetts: In Easthampton, medical plastics maker Berry Plastics ‘voluntarily retired’ 23 employees.  Company administrators blamed it on crashing sales.

Michigan: The American Red Cross warned it will layoff one third of its employees, in an effort “to shift donor dollars from administrative costs to actual services themselves”.

Missouri: In Saint Louis, Apop Records shutdown.

Nebraska: In Lincoln, after 25 years pumpkin and apple seller Sunwest Farms shutdown. The owners admit they sold out: “…we had an opportunity this spring, we had a buyer, and we took the money and ran…”-Steph Spangler, co-owner

New Mexico: ABQ Health Partners revealed they killed off 54 healthcare jobs.

New York:  In Long Island, advertising company Market Track announced they will shutdown sometime in 2015, about 110 jobs lost!  In Brentwood, Medical Action Industries warned it will shutdown in December due to takeover by Owens & Minor Distribution, 51 jobs threatened.  In Bronx, Pathmark Stores warned they are shutting down store 72613 in December, 127 jobs lost!  company administrators blame lack of sales.

North Carolina: Washington County Hospital in Plymouth laid off 35 employees.  Administrators blamed it on problems with North Carolina’s handling of Obama Care.

Ohio: In Solon, Switzerland based Nestlé laid off 100 Stouffers and Lean Cuisine workers! On top of that Nestlé administrators say another 200 jobs could be eliminated by November!  In Cincinnati, the Urban Active fitness center shutdown suddenly.  Local news reports say the fitness center was still advertising for new customers. It’s the result of the 2012 takeover by LA Fitness.

Washington:  In Bellingham, marine (boating) equipment and art store Pacific Marine Exchange & Gallery shutdown.  The owners told local news sources the final nail in their coffin is high fuel costs.

Wisconsin:  90 people laid off by Associated Milk Producers in Portage. Operations are being consolidated to Ohio.

California: In Hayward, Khol’s revealed they are shutting down in January 2015, about 70 jobs lost.  In Monterey, McGraw Hill Education warned they are laying off 47 employees in December.

Florida: After 101 years (surviving the Great Depression and numerous recessions) the iconic Tobacco Road Bar being shutdown by the greedy property owner, who refuses to renew the lease.  In Fort Lauderdale, the franchise owner of The Melting Pot restaurant gave up and shut it down, 20 jobs lost. Administrators for The Melting Pot would only say that the franchise owner ran out of money.

Louisiana: Too Big to Jail Capital One shutdown two offices in Shreveport-Bossier, at least 19 jobs affected.

Maine: Tennessee based Verso Paper (which has operated since the Great Depression) warned they are shutting down their paper mill in December, at least 500 jobs lost!  The small town of Bucksport said the paper mill shutdown will kill off half their tax revenues!

Michigan: In Holland, Visteon took over the old Johnson Controls factory, and laid off 50 employees.

Nevada: In Las Vegas, the Haze Nightclub shutdown.

New York: NYC based clothing chain Aéropostale shutdown all its stores in Quebec, Canada! In 2013 Aéropostale shutdown a total of 27 of their stores in the Great White North.  In Greenport, Sunrise Coach Lines warned it might lose its public bus service contract in December, 49 jobs could be lost.  In Bronx, Display Producers warned it will shutdown in December, 91 jobs lost.  In Hawthorne, Quintiles Medical Education warned it is shutting down in December,  at least 27 jobs lost.  In Buffalo, medical supplies maker Ethox Medical warned it is being sold off sometime after December, 62 employees affected.

Pennsylvania:  Sharon Regional Health System eliminated about 87 jobs, some local news reports said the actual number is a secret.  Administrators directly blame Obama Care.

Texas: In El Paso, after only four years KiPPs Cheesesteak (described as a local fav) shutdown:“A combination of persistent and increasingly difficult market conditions and extraordinarily challenging personal circumstances have taken their toll.”-Kupper Gray, owner

Washington: Taxsucking Boeing revealed they are moving as many as 2-thousand Department of Defense related engineering jobs to locations outside The Evergreen State, between now and 2017.  Some engineers will be offered transfers and some could become employed in Boeing’s civilian aircraft ops, but many will become unemployed.

Washington DC: Taxsucking military equipment reseller Liquidity Services killed off 130 jobs!  Company administrators blame it on their new contract with the Department of Defense.

Wisconsin: ShopKo killed off 40 jobs at its Ashwaubenon corporate HQ.  Company administrators blame the bad economy for their “reorganization”.
