Last ride for 1st, 2nd & 4th Tank

In July 2020, the United States Marines Corps (USMC) began retiring its M1A1 Abrams tanks and M88A2 Hercules recovery tanks, as part of a so called modernization plan called Force Design 2030.

The units affected are California based 1st Tank Battalion (1st Tanks) of the 1st Marine Division (my grandfather’s Alma Matter) and 4th Tank Battalion (4th Tanks) 4th Marine Division, as well as North Carolina based 2nd Tank Battalion (Iron Horse) of the 2nd Marine Division.

The 2nd Tank Battalion was an armor unit for almost 80 years, but apparently that ends under Force Design 2030.

1st Tank Battalion was created in 1941, originally in North Carolina but quickly made a new home in Twentynine Palms, California. After 79 years the 1st Tanks is no more:

Alpha Company, 4th Tank Battalion, 4th Marine Division, Marine Forces Reserve, Camp Pendleton, California, said good bye to its armored vehicles on 18JUL2020. Alpha Company is the first of the six companies of 4th Tanks to deactivate. 4th Tanks was created in 1943, during World War Two:

In August 2020, tracked armored vehicles located on the Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow (after being a TC on Sherman tanks during the war in the Pacific my grandfather worked at the Yermo Annex), California, were loaded on rail cars and shipped-off to the U.S. Army.

All the Marine Corps’ tank units are expected to be deactivated by the end of 2021. The vehicles could be ‘sold’ to the U.S. Army, or to foreign militaries.

Don’t blame Trump, Force Design 2030 is part of the Obama era plan referred to as Pivot to Asia: 2013, New York Times reports that U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel was pursuing a “pivot” against China.

According to U.S. Naval War College “Starting in 2010, the U.S. and Vietnam accelerated this process effectively forming a partnership on several fronts. The Obama administration identified Vietnam as one of the new partners to cultivate as part of its ‘rebalancing’ of U.S. priorities toward the Asia-Pacific region, a move commonly referred to as the U.S.’s ‘pivot’ to the Pacific.”

Since the end of April 2020, the U.S. Army’s Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) has been warning of a new pandemic for 2021, based on a new computer program that analyzes historical data of past pandemics, as well as using ‘real time’ data like climate anomalies and mosquito activity. The real time data is coming from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Climate Prediction Center, the Program for Monitoring Emerging Diseases, Pan American Health Organization, Walter Reed Biosystematics Unit, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and the U.S. Armed Forces Health Surveillance Branch.

In May I wrote how Thailand reported more than 10-thousand Chikungunya infections, over a four months period. It was in May that DTRA began warning military units of an expected Chikungunya outbreak in 2021. Just like Coronavirus, there is no vaccine and no specific treatment.

According to DTRA, Netflix made a documentary about the coming CHIKrisk pandemic, as part of Netflix’s Connected series, to be aired sometime in Autumn 2020.

Idaho militia’s European deployment canceled, suddenly deployed to Middle East

Ostensibly the deployment of Idaho Army National Guard’s ‘Snake River’ 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team to Europe was canceled due to Coronavirus fears. Yet, seemingly without warning, Idaho Air National Guard’s 124th Fighter Wing, and 190th Fighter Squadron, was suddenly deployed to ‘somewhere’ in the Middle East.

124th personnel began deploying on 11MAY2020, but several Idaho A-10Cs took part in a supposed CoViD-19 morale boosting fly-over of Idaho cities, along with U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagles from Mountain Home Air Force Base, on 15MAY2020.

The deployment, to an undisclosed location for an undisclosed amount of time, of more than 4-hundred personnel makes it the second largest deployment for the 124th Fighter Wing.

Idaho’s 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team, which includes personnel from Oregon, Montana and Nevada, was to deploy between 3-thousand to 4-thousand-4-hundred (depending on the news source) soldiers to take part in NATO’s Defender Europe 2020 wargames, but that was suddenly canceled in March due to CoViD-19.

The deployment would have made the 2020 Defender Europe wargames the third largest wargames in Europe since the end of the Cold War. However, Defender Europe 2020 was not halted and just got the ‘green light’.

U.S. CDC reports 16,318 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19-associated hospitalizations between March 1, 2020, and May 2, 2020. The CDC’s death rate percentage cannot be cited for CoViD-19 rates because it admittedly uses deaths from pneumonia and influenza in factoring the CoViD-19 death rate. Apparently doing so is the only way to put CoViD-19 death rate above the ‘epidemic’ level.

CoViD-19 medical supplies arrived at Bagram Airport and are being distributed to U.S. Forward Operating Bases around Afghanistan.

While the U.S. was sending CoViD-19 supplies to troops in Afghanistan, NATO member Turkey sent CoViD-19 supplies to the United States. On 28APR2020, a Turkish Airbus A400M loaded with medical Personal Protective Equipment landed at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland.

Then on 01MAY2020, a Turkish C-130 landed at the same base with even more PPE.

The next time you hear a whiny hospital doctor complain of ‘no room at the inn’ remember, it was ObamaCare that created a situation that resulted in literally thousands of hospital wings, and entire hospitals, being shutdown across the United States.

The mass hospital layoffs and even shutdowns of entire hospitals began after ObamaCare went into effect. My final ObamaCare Death Spiral post was in January 2019 and shows massive layoffs were still underway!

Finally somebody has pulled their head out and realized that instead of wasting time and energy building temp-hospitals (aka Alternate Care Facility, Emergency Care Facility, Quarantine Center) why not re-open the closed hospitals/hospital wings? The New Jersey National Guard, under direction from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is doing just that (at taxpayer expense of course).

On 29APR2020, National Guard personnel began assembling hospital beds for use in the East Pavilion wing of the East Orange General Hospital that has been shutdown as part of a 2015 bankruptcy-sale, and as a result of a state study that showed ObamaCare was drastically reducing patient use of hospitals. It could hold 250 patients.

But this isn’t the first time the National Guard has been called in to ‘fix’ ObamaCare. In August 2019 I wrote about Operation Appalachian Care, a National Guard healthcare operation ordered by President Barack Obama precisely because he knew ObamaCare would fail poor people.

One of the jobs of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is to inspect foreign grown produce coming into the United States.

The CoViD-19 (CoronaVirus Disease-2019) response has revealed just how much U.S. grocery stores rely on foreign grown food. One reason for shortages of some food items in your local grocery store is the increased inspections of food coming into the country, which impacts the speed of distribution.
