Farah Province: In Posht-e-Rod District, local reports say a suicide bomber attacked local cops. Two cops wounded.
Helmand Province: A former Major in the British empire’s Royal Army, Richard Streatfeild, has admitted that his troops “pointlessly” killed Afghans in Sangin District. Streatfeild wrote in his new book that from 2006-10 Red Coats would wantonly shoot anybody carrying a weapon, even if they were known to be friendly Afghans. The policy was unofficially called “turkey shoot tactics”. Streatfeild was once held up as the British empire’s poster boy for proud operations in Afghanistan, but since his retirement he has made controversial and damning accusations against his own empire! In Greshk District, a female cop was killed by two unknown men.
Kabul Province: In Kabul City, on top of arresting nine private security guard employees police are also blaming Pakistani Mujahideen for the attack on the elitist Serena Hotel. The deadly attack has scared off election observers from the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), who fled the country. In Darulaman area of Kabul City, Mujahideen attacked the local Independent Election Commission office, killing two cops. At least one Mujahid killed.
Kandahar Province: In Khakrez District, people celebrating the new spring were killed by explosion. There were government officials taking part in the ceremony. Three people killed, seven wounded. The weapon was a homemade hand grenade consisting of a glass bottle and explosives. In Shawali Kowt area, four U.S. personnel and their interpreter were wounded by an exploding landmine.
Kunar Province: Mujahideen attack the New Kabul Bank, nine people killed, 16 wounded. According to local police the attack was carried out by only four Mujahideen, two of which were suicide bombers. All four Mujahideen were among those killed.
Kunduz Province: At a horse sporting event a suicide bomber killed five people and wounded 20 others. National police believe the target of the bomber was a former Mujahideen leader.
Maidan Wardak Province: In Syed Abad District, locals report U.S. led “Special Operations Forces” conducted an Israeli style invasion, and destroyed ten motorcycles. A village elder was beaten.
Nangarhar Province: In Bati Kot District, Mujahideen say they repelled an attack by U.S. forces, killing and wounding 12 U.S. personnel. No word from U.S./NATO/ISAF. Mujahideen say U.S. forces called in airstrikes that killed four Mujahideen and wounded two civilians. In Khogiyani District, locals say U.S. led personnel conducted Israeli style home invasions, killing one person and kidnapping two others.
In Northern Afghanistan, a NATO troop was killed. However, NATO/ISAF did not give details, other than claiming it was not the result of battle.
Outgoing Afghan President Hamid Karzai has expressed support for the people of Crimea, who voted for independence from Ukraine and to rejoin Russia.
