Biden’s War: Vermont Militia’s medical & economic missions in foreign lands

According to the Vermont National Guard Public Affairs, 18 medical professionals with the Air Force and Army National Guard are spending two weeks in the West African country of Senegal.

“Participating in partnership exercises like this benefit the Vermont National Guard by placing them in a forward environment. It also provides staff members the opportunity to work in more austere conditions, to push them outside of their comfort zone, and to build relationships with their Senegalese health care partners.”-Lieutenant Colonel Chris Gookin, Vermont National Guard

The U.S. state of Vermont has been sending state militia personnel to Senegal since 2008.  In May, 2021, Vermont sent militia personnel to the European country of Macedonia, to promote economic development at taxpayer expense.  Vermont has been sending National Guard units to Macedonia since 1993-94.

Terminator: One Ring to Rule them all; Global Information Dominance ‘Experiment’

U.S. Northern Command (NorthCom) and North American Aerospace Defense Command (aka Nor-ad) conducted what they call a Global Information Dominance Experiment (GIDE-3), part of an Architecture Demonstration and Evaluation (ADE-5).

Photo by Staff Sergeant Sean Carnes.

GIDE-3/ADE-5 began on 09JUL2021, in Michigan. It involves A-10Cs of the Michigan Air National Guard (107th Fighter Squadron), F-16s of the Ohio ANG (112th FS), U.S. Air Force (USAF) T-38 Talons, Sentinel radar systems from the North Dakota Army National Guard (188th Air Defense Artillery Regiment), remote control helicopters (small R/C drones), a portable data broadcast system mounted on a Toyota Tacoma known as Cell On Light Truck (COLT), a portable ‘all-domain command and control advanced battle management system’ known as an Anduril Industries tower, an ‘enhanced’ cyber communications system called a Flyaway Kit, something called a Yoda Box which I have yet to find an explanation for what the Yoda Box is, except it might be connected to the now infamous Starlink satellite system (of which I warned about last year).

Photo by Staff Sergeant Devin M. Rumbaugh.

USAF video interview, a poor attempt to explain what a Flyaway Kit is, the interviewee admits he joined the Air Force to do “cool stuff” like Terminator stuff:

GIDE is officially described as a data-centric software-based experiment which combines humans and technology to innovate and accelerate development of systems for domain awareness, information dominance, decisional superiority, and global integration.

And just like in the movie Terminator, ADE is an attempt to integrate hi-tech systems and connect multiple sensors to a common operating network with artificial intelligence (A-I).  GIDE is a sub-operation of ADE.  And ADE is part of the USAF’s recently created Chief Architect Office, created in 2019 specifically to develop what they call a ‘system of systems’, in other words a system to control all systems.

They will be deploying to Kuwait as part of Task Force Spartan, it is not their first time: “The 29th ID is very familiar with the role they’re about to assume, having mobilized for the same mission a few years ago. More importantly, they’re building on the efforts of the two previous Army National Guard headquarters, who served as Task Force Spartan; the 42nd Infantry Division from the great State of New York, and the 36th ID from the great State of Texas.”-Colonel Jakob B. Larkowich, 188th Infantry Brigade Division East, Chief of Training for the 29th ID Culminating Training Exercise

Terminator: U.S. Army Space Force launches 3 Gunsmoke-Jacob’s Ladder satellites

“If the Gunsmoke experiments are successful, then this work could lead to future systems, which would enhance long-range precision fires in support of the warfighter.”-Rebecca Nagurney, Gunsmoke deputy program manager

On 30JUN2021, Grumman built Cygnus class SS (Space Ship) Katherine Johnson deployed a U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC) ‘Gunsmoke’ targeting satellite.

The SS Katherine Johnson is a remote controlled cargo ship, and was deployed to the International Space Station (ISS) in February 2021 (called NG-15 resupply mission).  Normally, the Cygnus class space ship is used to bring supplies to the ISS, and then haul trash away.  This time it launched five ‘CubSats’ as it left the ISS, on 29JUN2021, including the U.S. Army’s Gunsmoke.

Gunsmoke-J (‘J’ for Jacob’s Ladder, a type of CubSat) is an APNT (Assured Position Navigation and Timing) satellite.  It is a small satellite designed to provide combat units on planet Earth with location information about possible targets on the ground.  The Gunsmoke program has been in the works for the past fives years.

The U.S. Army Space Force has launched three Gunsmoke-Js; one on an Electron rocket at the end of March 2021, a second deployed via SS Katherine Johnson at the end of June (after launching from Earth in February),…..

….and the third was launched off a modified Virgin Orbit Boeing 747 (Operation Tubular Bells: Part One) also at the end of June: “This deployment and same day launch of two separate Gunsmoke-J satellites is a major step toward demonstrating what we believe will be enabling tactical warfighter capability.”-Wheeler ‘Chip’ Hardy, USASMDC Technical Center Space Directorate’s Space Applications Division

Idaho’s heritage A-10C ‘8N’

P-47D Thunderbolt ‘Black Jack’ code 8N-O, 371st FG-405th FS.

Towards the end of May 2021, the Idaho Air National Guard unveiled their heritage ‘8N’ A-10C Thunderbolt-2.  8N is the squadron code for the U.S. Army 9th Air Force-371st Fighter Group’s 405th Fighter Squadron.

Idaho Air National Guard photo by Senior Master Sergeant Joshua C. Allmaras.

It was part of 75th anniversary celebrations for the 190th Fighter Squadron’s(FS) birthday, 24MAY1946.  The old 405th FS logo was added to the nacelles after returning from its heritage paint job in Iowa.

Idaho Air National Guard photo by Senior Master Sergeant Joshua C. Allmaras.

The 190th FS evolved out of the 405th FS, which flew P-47 Thunderbolts during World War Two (hence the false tail number 405190). In 1944, P-47s of the 405th carried the code 8N on their fuselages: “Every aspect of that paint job, down to the smallest detail, is deliberate and faithful to how our P-47’s looked in the summer of 1944. We weren’t going for glitz and a superficial ‘wow factor.’ This isn’t a toy airplane; it’s one of our beautiful A-10 Thunderbolt-2s dressed in the same scheme worn by our P-47 Thunderbolts in World War Two. It’s like a little boy wearing his dad’s military uniform. I think that’s what makes it so special.”-Major Tom Silkowski, Idaho’s 190th FS

During the first week of June, 2021, U.S. Army’s Northern Command (aka Army North) conducted a Rehearsal of Concept (RoC) major nation-wide disaster response discussion, at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, Texas: “This RoC drill helps us synchronize our whole-of-government effort for an all-hazards response, whether it is a response to a natural disaster, pandemic, man-made hazard, terrorist attack or cyberattack. Having everyone here to synchronize and integrate is extremely important for us to be ready to fulfill our requirements as an integrated, interagency task force to meet the National Preparedness Goal.”-Lieutenant General Laura J. Richardson, Army North
