Two people being held in two Idaho jails died on the same day, one at the Bonneville County Jail in Idaho Falls, the other at the Correctional Alternative Placement Program facility near Boise. There is a connection; both of the ‘victims’ are from Bingham County.
On 05 December, guards at Bonneville County Jail claim they found an 18 years old murder suspect dead in the cell. He had been in the county jail since August, waiting for his murder trial (so much for speedy trial as the Constitution dictates). County prison administrators claim they’re investigating the cause of death.
On 29 November, guards at the Correctional Alternative Placement Program claim a 47 years old prisoner went into seizure after taking an overdose of prescription drugs. He died in hospital on 05 December. What the hell are prisoners doing being allowed to control their own medication? I’ve lived near the JR Simplot ‘Don Plant’ phosphorus refining operation since 1996, and I’m sick of the smell and the white powdery ash that covers my vehicles and plants, contaminating my pet’s water, and etching the outside of my home’s windows. For years local news media reported that JR Simplot was going to reduce emissions, now the federal EPA and the U.S. Department of Justice have convinced the food controlling giant to spend at least $42-million USD to do just that, lest it be hit with an even bigger fine: “The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Department of Justice today announced a settlement with the J.R. Witness said event center is only three years old, his wife works in the building and is OK. However, police are still holding people from being released, being rounded up and held at a next door golf course.
