At the Switzerland owned Nestlé Willy Wonka factory in Itasca, Illinois, a chemical spill caused at least 11 employees to be hospitalized, a total of 17 required attention by EMTs.
The chemical is lithium chloride (LiCl), of which five gallons burst from a humidification pipe (initial reports said it spilled from a five galllons drum). LiCl is used in candy factories to regulate humidity.
LiCl can burn and can affect your central nervous system. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warns that ingestion of LiCl will result in “Disorientation, incoherence and poor memory.”
The Material Safety Data Sheet from ScienceLab states LiCl has “MUTAGENIC EFFECTS: Mutagenic for mammalian somatic cells. Mutagenic for bacteria and/or yeast. TERATOGENIC EFFECTS: Classified POSSIBLE for human. DEVELOPMENTAL TOXICITY: Classified Reproductive system/toxin/female, Reproductive system/toxin/male [POSSIBLE].”
“The media is doing a wonderful job at assassinating it….. We have never had a single crime committed in Canada by an AR-15….”-Tony Bernardo, Canadian Shooting Sports Association
In antigun British empire Canada tens of thousands of Canadians (at least 25-thousand according to a petition by a group being called Lawful Firearm Owners of Canada) are demanding a return to gun ownership rights.
On Tuesday a man from Alberta pled guilty to lying on a U.S. federal gun background check. He had traveled all the way to the U.S. state of New Hampshire, allegedly to buy 1-hundred pistols! He gave a New Hampshire location as his home address. According to the gun dealer the Canadian had a U.S. passport and New Hampshire ID. The Canadian slipped up when he gave the gun dealer his true Canadian phone number. One reason why the man from Alberta went to so much trouble attempting to buy guns in the U.S. is that it’s been admitted that Canadian police steal legally registered guns.
Huffington Post headlined their anti-2nd Amendment story “Support for Gun Control Spikes…”. Read their own article and you’ll discover their own survey showed a slight 7% increase in support for gun control! They call a 7% increase a “spike”?
Now compare this to a CNN report which said yearly sales of Smith&Wesson guns jumped 22.4%, and in the quarter after the San Bernardino shootings S&W sales skyrocketed 61.5%! Now realize that’s gun sales for just one gun maker, across the board the percentage increase of gun sales far exceeds any meager “spike” in support for more anti-2nd Amendment laws.
“Ms. Paula Reid came into the shop with cash, claiming she wished to purchase an AR-15 to, ‘undergo training. She refused basic, free instruction of firearms safety under the pretense that she was using the firearm for training with a NRA certified instructor. Due to the information provided in the CBS News report filed today, I suspect Ms. Reid committed a straw purchase and procurement of a firearm under false pretenses.”-Ryan Lamke, to the Washington Free Beacon
The CBS broadcast network has been turned-in to the Virginia State Police and the federal ATF for violating anti-2nd Amendment laws, by the very gun seller they lied to!
“ATF is aware of the story, however, the details and the outcome of the sale in question is unclear and it is not evident if a violation occurred. In the event that an investigation is initiated, as a matter of policy, ATF does not comment on or acknowledge ongoing investigations.”-Corey Ray, to the Washington Free Beacon
“The counter-terrorism service and the rapid response forces have retaken the government compound in the center of Falluja.”– Lieutenant General Abdulwahab al-Saad to Agence France-Presse
Iraqi military and police commanders say they encountered little resistance from the U.S.-NATO-EU-Israeli-Saudi created DAIISH-Islamic State-ISIS-ISIL (DAIISH=DA for al-DAwla, I for al-Islamiya, I for al-Iraq, SH for al-SHam [al-Sham=Syria]) as they entered the center of the city.
“Former Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki sent an official request of intervention to the United States following the fall of Mosul. The same request was submitted to the Iranian government as well…. …The Islamic Republic of Iran was quick enough to respond to our demand…. …For two whole months, neither the United States nor European countries offered any assistance…”–Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units
New York Times reporting that more than 50 U.S. diplomats have signed a letter demanding that Barack Obama begin airstrikes against the elected government of Syria!
This is in apparent contradiction to the Obama regime’s official stance regarding the government of Syria. It also comes after waves of successful attacks by Syrian and Russian forces against the U.S.-NATO-EU-Israeli-Saudi created DAIISH-Islamic State-ISIS-ISIL (DAIISH=DA for al-DAwla, I for al-Islamiya, I for al-Iraq, SH for al-SHam [al-Sham=Syria]) and Al Nusra Front.
An pro-European Union politician in the British empire base United Kingdom was shot, stabbed and killed by a mentally unstable man. Not only that, but she was shot inside an official ‘gun free zone’.
“I grew up in a small Idaho town and we frequently had guns at school. In the year books there are pictures of us as a club with our guns. We just competed among ourselves and not with other schools. No one was outraged, no one went crazy, it was a normal part of life.
I also carried a knife every day of my life from the age 8 up until 9/11. Because I fly so frequently, I don’t carry knives as frequent. The TSA has taken more than one of mine, it took me a while to break that habit.”
“I am the same age and remember shooting at two of my local high schools, La Sierra and El Camino (Both in Sacramento) which both had rifle teams. And this was in California in the late 70’s. I took hunters safety at one of them to get my hunting license.
El Camino’s range was indoors but La Sierra was outdoors and both were on the same property as the high school.”
“I made a new stock for my Ruger 10/22 out of a 2” thick blank of black walnut in my high school woodworking class for my class project back in the mid 1980s. I never brought the complete firearm to school, but just the barrel and empty receiver so I could do the inletting. Imagine me doing that today!
Incomplete list of U.S. job loss announcements and shutdowns.
Alabama: What construction industry recovery? In Decatur, after 24 years Marvin’s Building Materials shutting down by July.
California: In Salinas, Foothill Packing has been fined $235-thousand USD for falsely firing U.S. citizens and replacing them with H-1B migrants: “The employer claimed the workers — who were U.S. citizens — had failed to meet production standards. Investigators found that many of them had consistently exceeded the production of many of the foreign workers doing the same jobs, yet Foothill did not terminate these foreign workers.“-U.S. Department of Labor press release
Idaho: The Fire Chief of Chubbuck resigned in connection to the planned merger of the city of Chubbuck’s fire department with the city of Pocatello (both cities are dealing with cash problems despite continually telling the taxpayers the economy is good): “Whether the consolidation goes forward or not it’s not going to be affected by whom the chief is at the time.”-Joshua Ellis, Chubbuck city councilman
Speaking of Chubbuck and Pocatello, the county of Bannock made an appeal to property owners to pay their property taxes, warning of fines and interest charges. It sounded like the county is having problems with property tax collections, which would not be happening if the economy was good. I gotta message for Bannock County: “You can’t squeeze blood from a turnip.”
Kansas: In Wichita, Via Christi Health eliminating 70 more jobs on top of the 80 they’ve already cut! Yet, at the same time hospital administrators told local news that they plan to hire 80 people!
Michigan: Benton Harbor Area Schools eliminating 43 jobs in an effort to save $1.4-million USD. However, local news sources say the district is also planning on creating 12 new positions.
New Jersey: Inspira Medical Center eliminating at least 67 jobs at two locations by August. Saks Fifth Avenue eliminating 137 Short Hills jobs by September!
New York: Old Country Buffet issued a shutdown WARN for their Bay Shore operation, 42 jobs gone by mid-September. Unnamed sources say the Daily News laid off 22 people, after attempts to sell the newspaper failed.
North Carolina: Charlotte based Too Big to Jail Bank of America announced it will ‘accelerate’ its job destruction by 8-thousand jobs as part of its “digital banking” plan! It’s blamed on a sudden 15% increase in people using digital banks instead of brick-n-mortar banks (never mind the fact that increase was forced by BoA shutting down 23% of its offices since 2009).
Oregon: Law firms (American Immigration Lawyers Association and American Immigration Council) in Oregon are suing the federal government over the H-1B program, not because H-1B is taking jobs from U.S. citizens but because their foreign clients were turned down for H-1B visas!
Washington DC: More proof U.S. jobs are going to immigrants; during a Congressional hearing it was revealed that at least 5-million migrants violated their H-1B visas and now refuse to leave the United States! This means they’re now illegal immigrants but the federal government isn’t doing anything about it, a grand total of 10-thousand visa violation cases were investigated out of the now 5-million violators known to be in the U.S.! Despite the latest revelations, the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) issued a new Visa Waiver Program which allows immigrants to enter the United States without getting visas from U.S. consular officers!
I found a 2010 AFL-CIO analysis (titled The Public Availability of WARN Notices: Lack of Accessibility and Disclosure…) which proves what I’ve been suspecting in my search of state WARN notices; most states are not complying with federal WARN regulations and are not publicizing or tracking mass layoffs.
Former employees who receive severance are not counted as unemployed!
Employees of religious non-profits might not qualify for unemployment assistance: “If the non-profit organization is a church, you may or may not be entitled to unemployment. It all depends upon state regulations for church employers. In many cases, churches are allowed to set their own rules regarding unemployment benefits, meaning the church can choose whether to offer benefits to former employees.”
The U.S. Department of Labor (DoL) no longer issues mass layoff reports: “On March 1, 2013, President Obama ordered into effect the across-the- board spending cuts (commonly referred to as sequestration) required by the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act, as amended. Under the order, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) must cut its current budget by more than $30 million, 5 percent of the current 2013 appropriation, by September 30, 2013. In order to help achieve these savings and protect core programs, the BLS will eliminate two programs, including Mass Layoff Statistics, and all ‘measuring green jobs’ products. This news release is the final publication of monthly mass layoff survey data.”
M16 in action during Operation Cook, Viet Nam, September 1968. U.S. Army photo.
The AR-15 is now known as the silly-vilian semi-auto version of the Viet Nam era M16. The original AR-15 was the weaker version of the military’s experimental AR-10, which was a true high-power/high-velocity weapon. Once the military accepted the AR-15 for mass production its nomenclature was changed to M16.
A U.S. Air Force security Airman using a CAR-15. What is notable is that this is the ancient version which can be identified by its lack of a Forward Assist. This photo was produced in June 2000, yes, the U.S. military was still using the ancient version of the CAR-15 in 2000. USAF photo by Scott Spitzer.
The CAR-15 is probably the most photographed version of the AR-15. It is the Commando Assault Rifle, a shortened version of the AR-15.
I’m getting tired of the main stream news media and their puppet master politicians and anti-2nd Amendment activists claiming the AR-15 (M16/M4), and even the AK-47, are “high-powered, high-velocity” weapons. I can blame the police who constantly refer to these relatively low velocity guns as “high-power” weapons. But I can’t just blame them, I have to blame the gun industry itself. The AR-15 is marketed as a high power weapon, there’s even an internet business called High Velocity Arms that specializes in the AR-15.
To make it worse the gun industry intentionally makes their many versions of the AR-15 look ‘mean’. Looks have nothing to do with the performance of the ammo used in the gun!
Arkansas National Guard video from 2018, by Specialist Stephen M. Wright, showing they were using a combination of M16A2s, CAR-15s and M4s:
U.S. Air Force photo by David Bedard, 11JUL2014.
This old-skool bolt action single shot rifle is the U.S. military’s M24 sniper rifle based on the Remington Model 700. It uses the NATO 7.62mm x 51mm (aka Wincester .308 caliber), which has much more velocity and power than the rounds used by the AR-15/M16/M4, and AK-47s.
Does this gun look ‘mean? This hunting rifle uses a true high-power/high-velocity 7mm Remington Magnum round.
Does this gun scare you? It’s the Ruger Mini-14 and it uses the same ammo as the AR-15/M16/M4.
High-power and high-velocity are relative. Compared to a .22 caliber ‘Long Rifle’ the .223 caliber round used by the AR-15 is high-velocity, but compared to many more guns available the AR-15 is what gun owners call a “plinker”. In fact that’s the true reason why the AR-15 is a popular gun, it’s more powerful than a .22 LR, but is far cheaper to shoot than the true high-power/high-velocity weapons.
The AK-47 and AR-15 ammo are much smaller than ammo used in hunting rifles and even ‘cowboy’ lever action guns. Photo by AAron B. Hutchins, June 2016.
The AR-15 uses a .223 caliber (5.56mm bullet diameter, 45mm long casing) round. The AR-15 can be fitted with ‘sub-caliber’ kits that allow it to fire the smaller .22 LR ammo, or the 9mm pistol ammo.
U.S. Army photo by Private First Class Anthony Zendejas the Fourth, 21JAN2018.
The AK-47 uses a larger .30 caliber (7.62mm) bullet, but the casing (39mm long) is shorter than the .223, which means it’s actually lower velocity than the AR-15’s ammo, yet main stream news and anti-gunners call it a high power/high-velocity weapon as well.
A boring U.S. Army video (with bad audio), from November 2008, by Specialist Amber Stephens, showing the Iraq army being trained by U.S. instructors on how to use the Soviet designed AK-47. Towards the end of the video you can see their shot groups on the targets, proving the AK-47 can be accurate, at close range anyway:
I have a Winchester lever action rifle, some people call it a cowboy gun because it’s the rifle made famous by the old TV ‘western’ show The Rifleman. It uses .30-30 caliber (7.62mm bullet, 51mm’R’ casing) round, a much larger round than the AR-15.
U.S. Air Force photo by David Bedard, 11JUL2014.
Then there’s .308 Winchester (7.62mm bullet, 51mm casing, aka NATO 7-6-2). While it’s similar in size to the .30-30 it is considered by some military analysts to be more powerful than the .30-30, hence it’s why military and police use it for sniping and light machine guns (LMG). Then there’s a round made famous during World War 1 and 2; .30-06 Springfield (7.62mm bullet, 63mm long casing).
The U.S. military switched from .30-06 to .308 because the smaller casing .308 could perform just as good or better than the .30-06, depending on the weight of the bullet and type of gun powder used. This brings up another point; the power and velocity (ballistics) of a bullet can also be affected by its weight and type of charge used in the casing. But hands down the AR-15 round can’t come close to the power and velocity of the .308, .30-06 or 7mm magnum.
