The following pics were taken on 16-17 April 2015, the official last days of the Gateway Processing Center in southeastern Idaho, but do not show all the operations that took place. (click pics to make bigger)
- Ergo Carts full of Bulk Business Mail (junk mail) and periodicals (magazines).
- A busy loading dock, yet mail handlers were told they were let go “Due to lack of work”!
- The Sectional Center Facility (SCF) pit where parcels shipped within east Idaho were sorted, by hand. Now it’s done in Salt Lake City, Utah.
- Flying Monkey no longer has a warehouse full of employees to watch over.
- One of two outgoing parcel sorting pits.
- One of several letter sorting machines. At least one sorter has already been dismantled and shipped off to Salt Lake City.
