“The capacity of the power potential of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) giving it global functions carried out in violation of international law, the intensification of military activities of the unit, the further expansion of the alliance, the approach of its military infrastructure closer to Russian borders pose a threat to national security.”-2016 update to the 2020 National Security Strategy of the Russian Federation
Other threats to national security identified by Russia include “products with GMOs”, “restrictive economic measures, global and regional economic crises, increasing unfair competition, misuse of corporate funds……shortage of mineral resources , water and biological resources” and “The growing influence of political factors on the economic processes, as well as attempts by individual states use economic methods, tools, financial, trade, investment and technology policies to solve its geopolitical problems weaken the stability of the system of international economic relations.”
Russia also believes the ‘West’s’ push for one world government (New World Order) “is accompanied by the growth of regional and global instability. Exacerbated contradictions related to the uneven global development, widening gap between levels of well-being of countries, the struggle for resources, access to markets, control of transport routes”.
