According to Canada’s Sun News Network, Chicago has more gun violence than all mass shootings throughout the rest of United States combined: “Far more people have been killed in the bad neighbourhoods of Chicago than were killed in all the mass shootings combined.”
However, the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation’s 2012 Uniform Crime Report shows that gun violence in Chicago makes up just a sliver of a fraction of all crimes in the windy city. Violent crimes, including those that do not involve a gun, make up 18.9% of Chicagoland crime. All other crimes make up 81.1% of Chicago crimes! So why is Obama’s Rahm Emanuel pushing for a total gun ban?
The threat of gun violence works! For proof, a rap concert in the town of Cicero was canceled by police due to “….information that there were some threats and there might be some violence against the performer and his entourage.”
In fact, the threat of an all out attack on the rap show prompted several cities to basically declare martial law: “The rapper has written songs that have led to death threats against his life in southern Cook County. The mayor’s top priority is to protect the citizens of Harvey against any potential threat to public safety. Harvey Police will be on high alert this coming weekend. We stand united with the City of Chicago and the Town of Cicero in protecting our citizens against the threat of violence…..”-Eric Kellogg, Mayor of Harvey
Once again, most of the shooting victims were not armed. You would think that if this was gang violence there would be gun battles, but there are no gun battles. It’s as if the shooters are deliberately targeting unarmed people.
Police continue to insist most of the gun violence is caused by gang bangers, but have made no arrests. New anti-gun laws would not stop the shootings, because most guns used by gang bangers are already illegal!
“Our ideals and principles, as well as our national security……..That’s what makes America different. That’s what makes us exceptional.”-Barack Obama, 10 September 2013, calls Chicagoland his homie town
