Hawaiian cows bombed by Fukushima radiation! Highest skin cancer rate & government lies connected to Idaho?

11 June 2016 / 23:30 UTC-07 Tango 01 (23 Khordad 1395/06 Ramadan 1437/08 Jia-Wu 4714)

Belgium: Yet more problems with troubled Tihanga 2 nuke plant (which was supposed to be shutdown in 2015): “An electrical motor that turns a steam turbine in a non-nuclear part of the site broke down.”-Serge Dauby

Canada: Reports say the Canadian government has reversed course on shutting down the Whiteshell/Pinawa nuclear site in Manatoba. Canadian Nuclear Laboratories has frozen the decommissioning and has apparently decided to leave underground reactors in place and simply pour concrete over everything: “Essentially, it has become too difficult and expensive to dismantle and dig up the radioactive waste at the Pinawa site, and the result is the province will wind up with a de facto nuclear waste facility.”

Finland: In 2020 the northern country will begin burying nuke waste for the first time.  They plan to bury 5-thousand tons of nuke waste for at least 100-thousand years.  The initial cost to taxpayers to build The Hollow is $4-billion USD!  Imagine the cost to maintain it, they must expect their economy to boom in order to provide the tax revenues to support The Hollow.

India: The U.S. Obama regime is supporting India’s plan to join the international Nuclear Suppliers Group: “In practical terms, there is nothing extra that the NSG will give India other than a seat at the nuclear high table.”-Rakesh Sood

Italy: The prime minister of the the U.S. led NATO member revealed plans for Italy to abandon its anti-nuclear weapons policy, and will allow the U.S. Obama regime to maintaining a nuclear arsenal in the Latin country (despite Obama’s promise seven years ago that the U.S. would stop exporting nukes), all in the ironic name of nuclear security: “Thank you President Obama. Italy is fully determined to follow through with its commitment for nuclear security.”-Matteo Renzi, Italian prime minister commenting on the basing of new U.S. B-61-12 nuclear bombs in Italy

Japan:  Five years later several people are breaking the news media silence on cancers caused by the ongoing Fukushima Daiichi disaster. A 21 years old woman with thyroid cancer is begging the rest of her neighbors to get screened for cancer. She’s one of 173 young people to reveal they have cancer that according to the United Nations Scientific Committee on the Effects of Atomic Radiation says can only be caused by a nuclear disaster.  News reports say the 21 years old woman is hiding her identity because victims of Fukushima Daiichi who go public are actually attacked by supporters of the nuke industry!  In the nuclear disaster areas skyrocketing cases of children with thyroid cancer are making local news, however, the neo-imperialist ‘hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil’ government of Japan blames the increased child cancer rates on increased cancer screenings, not radiation! Even the Fukushima Medical Association flat denies the increased cases of thyroid cancer in children could be caused by radiation contamination!   News media revealed that the government is actually dragging its feet on cancer screenings, at least 38% of the victims of Fukushima Daiichi have yet to be tested for radiation contamination!

Micronesia: 70 years after the U.S. nuked the shit out of Bikini Atoll its still too radioactive for people to return: “People dream of going back to Bikini Island, but there’s an ugly history of people returning too early and getting sick. I couldn’t get clear answers, even in scientific literature, on whether these islands were, in fact, radioactive or not.”Emlyn Hughes, Columbia University

Sweden: Government administrators have voted to build ten new nuclear power plants. At least four will be built to replace four of Sweden’s nine older nuke factories: “This is a traditional Swedish compromise.”-Ibrahim Baylan, Ministry of Energy

United States: A shipment of plutonium and weapons grade uranium from Japan was delivered to Savannah River Site in South Carolina and weapons lab Y-12 National Security Complex in Tennessee.  So far nobody has explained why Japan had been storing massive quantities of weapons grade material in violation of its own laws and international laws.  It was revealed that Japan was convinced to hand it over due to its lax security of nuclear facilities: “The removal of the material from Japan represents a significant accomplishment in our broader global nuclear security efforts to secure highly enriched uranium and plutonium worldwide.”-Lieutenant General Frank G. Klotz, U.S. Department of Energy

In California “There is 89 times the amount of radiation at San Onofre as was released at Chernobyl, [Southern California Edison] spends millions of dollars each year distorting the truth. It’s a smoke-and-mirrors show they put on for the public while they cut costs to increase their profits.”-Rita Conn of Secure Nuclear Waste commenting on spent nuclear fuel at San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS)

Reports out of The Aloha State reveal that only one week after Fukushima Daiichi blew up radiation was detected in the air over Hawaii.  That same year the University of Hawaii at Manoa began collecting water samples to establish a baseline cesium level.  Researchers say since then elevated cesium levels have been detected around Midway Island and the west coast of North America.  But what’s more worrisome is that cesium is showing up in the milk of dairy cows on Hawaii: “The Department of Health monitored precipitation and the atmosphere and also milk. They found positive hits in all of these.”Henrietta Dulai, University of Hawaii researcher who admitted her own cesium testing conflicts with the state Department of Health’s test results

The Idaho state Attorney General Lawrence Wasden claims he will defend the 1995 nuclear waste agreement between The Gem State and Washington DC, despite the fact that ‘elected’ state and federal lawmakers are pushing to bring more nuke waste into Idaho. The Idaho Statesman revealed that the federal government repeatedly violates the 1995 agreement. This comes as it’s been revealed that since November 2015 clean up crews from the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) have been investigating why a Snake River Plain Aquifer monitoring well, near Highway 20, is contaminated with tetrachloroethylene. Efforts are now underway to clean up the contamination. And of course that news arrived as news that between 2001 and 2005 Idaho had the most people die from skin cancer than any other U.S. state!
Idaho’s neighbor The Evergreen State had the highest rate of skin cancer in 2008! Both Idaho and Washington are home to huge nuclear laboratories.

“About 700,000 people drink water from the Kentucky River, which runs through the city of Irvine. Last year, Irvine received 4 million to 10 million pounds of concentrated, radioactive fracking residue from Advanced TENORM Services LLC, which further concentrated waste from Virginia-based Fairmont Brine Processing.”-Leslie Bruner

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission rates Massachusetts’ Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station as one of the three worst in the U.S. (all three are operated by the same company, Entergy).   Pilgrim is supposed to be decommissioned starting in 2019, however local news media revealed “Entergy does not have enough money to decommission now. Entergy has about $900 million in Pilgrim’s Decommissioning Trust Fund (DTF). Entergy estimated that the total cost (if the work started in 2014) to clean-up Vermont Yankee, a smaller reactor than Pilgrim, would be about 1.243 billion dollars. Pilgrim’s DTF is about 350 million dollars short, even if work started today. By the time that the work is actually done, the shortfall likely will be in the billions.”

The fat-ass Christie regime in New Jersey is allowing the aged Artificial Island nuclear power plant to continue operations for another five years, and interestingly is not requiring the construction of cooling towers.  It’s all about the politics of global warming and taxpayer funded (socialist) job creation: “Nuclear plays a key role today and also in the future in meeting New Jersey and America’s clean air goals. These goals can’t be achieved without carbon free nuclear power. Just as important is the economic impact of the 1,800 jobs we supply and the millions of dollars we spend each year on goods and services right here in New Jersey.”-Joe Delmar, PSEG Nuclear

The Department of Energy (DoE) gave the green light to restart ‘cold operations’ at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) in New Mexico,  more than two years after the mixed-nuke waste explosion.  The DoE is paying the Land of Enchantment $74-million USD compensation for the WIPP disaster.

In Washington DC “The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) quietly issued proposals …to allow radioactive contamination in drinking water ….equivalent to 250 chest X-rays a year.” Yet another study saying cell phones cause brain cancer, this time it’s the federal government.  After spending $25-million taxpayer dollars funding the study through the National Toxicology Program it was concluded that “radiofrequency radiation (RFR) at frequencies and modulations used in the US telecommunications industry” was connected to “…RFR exposure and the neoplastic lesions…”

$15 hour to kill 40,000 jobs in just one state? Migrants kill Summer jobs for teens? 46% college grads unemployed! : U.S. Job Losses & Closings 12 June 2016

Incomplete list of U.S. job loss announcements and shutdowns.

The Navajo Nation Council spending an additional $2-million USD to hire teenagers for the Summer.  It’s an effort to combat crashing employment of teenagers across the U.S.

California: Amazingly, and despite my continued reporting of massive layoffs across the Golden State, including the Bay Area, the UCLA Anderson Forecast claims that employment in the Bay Area is at full capacity!   But wait, the term Full Employment is misleading, it does not mean everybody literally has a job, it means that everybody who wants a job and is willing to take whatever slave wage pay level is offered can potentially become employed.

Illinois: Chicago based job analyst Challenger, Gray & Christmas is blaming crashing teenager employment on the bad economy: “The general trend in summer employment among teens has been downward and that trend has been going on since the late 1970s. …..Restaurants and retail outlets are still hiring teens, but not as many as in the past…… …summer camps, neighborhood pools, amusement parks…the number of these jobs is not really growing.”

Iowa: The city of Des Moines threatening to shutdown Hagar’s Manhattan Deli and the Greenwood Lounge if owner Lee Family Properties fails to make necessary upgrades. The battle between the property owner and the city is years in the making: “He is the worst property owner I have encountered in my entire political career. We can’t get him to do anything, so this is our last resort.”-Christine Hensley, authoritarian city council member

Michigan: What automotive industry recovery? Detroit based General Motors (GM) is creating 7-hundred new jobs, not in the United States but across the northern border in Toronto, Canada!

New York:  NYC based Too Big to Jail Goldman Sachs reports that the Affordable Care Act is forcing people who normally didn’t have to work to go back to work just to afford their new ObamaCare mandated insurance!  It’s called Involuntary Part Time Employment, and the number of people working because they have to (due to ObamaCare) and not because they want to has remained high ever since ObamaCare went into effect. Now realize that for every person forced to go to work means another person who really wants to work, can’t.   The city of New York is spending $34-million USD creating 60-thousand busy work jobs for their Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) in an effort to combat crashing employment of teenagers.   The city of Birmingham is using a measly $10-thousand USD in federal taxpayer grant money to combat crashing employment of teenagers considered ‘at risk’. The program is called Citizen U.

Ohio: The Mahoning County Children Services Board laying off 22 employees and shutting down the Glenwood group home due to lack of teenaged residents.

Oregon:  Raising wages during good economic times can actually boost revenues, but during bad times it could kill the economy.  The state Office of Economic Analysis is warning that the soon to be increased state minimum wage (to $15 per hour) will end up killing 40-thousand jobs!  Oregon has an official population of about 4-million, it’s a geographically large state with a population that’s half that of the evil Big Apple city of New York!     Local news reports said that Oregon’s democrat controlled government passed the wage increase before the Office of Economic Analysis published their report: “While the impact is relatively small when compared to the size of the Oregon economy, it does result in approximately 40,000 fewer jobs in 2025 than would have been the case absent the legislation. Our office is not predicting outright job losses, however we are expecting somewhat slower growth. Low-wage workers receiving raises in the near term boost incomes. Over time, however, employers will adjust by increasing worker productivity, possibly via capital for labor substitutions.”Oregon Economic and Revenue Forecast, June 2016

Pennsylvania: After 29 years Hanover Home & Garden shutting down in July, the owners saying “it’s time to retire”.  Bethlehem based National Association of Colleges and Employers revealed that only 54% of  recent college grads found full time jobs six months after graduating!

Texas: In northern Texas there appears to be an exodus of teenagers as the number of kids on their Summer break, and looking for a job, has been halved from their peak in the 1970-80s, Texas job analysts blame it on a rise in low paying back breaking jobs usually reserved for migrants: ” Most jobs involve more grunt work, more low level work and Generation Z doesn’t find those jobs appealing…. …There is no such thing as a kid job anymore because companies are reliant on every level of labor they have.”-Ron Newton

However, down south in Houston TV station CW39 conducted an unscientific survey and found that many U.S. teenagers are looking for a job, but can’t find any jobs: “I’m looking for a job right now which is kind of hard.  This is like the fourth place I’ve gone, but most places are sort of slow in the summer so it’s a lot harder to find a job.”-Sanitago Navarrete

“I couldn’t find a job or an internship and I thought I could be useful in some other way. I’m volunteering at a wildlife sanctuary.”-Alexis Acevedo

“What the numbers show for Houston is that, they’re not interested in kicking back this summer. We’ve had over 4,000 applications for 1,500 opportunities.-Vanessa Ramirez, SER Jobs for Progress

Washington DC: More proof the economy has not recovered; the Pew Research Center reports that Summer jobs for teenagers on break from school are getting harder to find, the main reason is due to crashing sales for the employers who usually hire teens for the Summer.  In 1978 summertime teen employment hit its high at 58%, but ever since 2010 it’s hovered around 30%.  The Brookings Institution reports “Employment rates fell most dramatically among teens, and large disparities between whites and blacks persist, particularly among teens and young adults.”

And for more proof ObamaCare is killing the economy, even the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the Affordable Care Act is the main driver behind skyrocketing costs of operations for employers.  Over the past 12 months healthcare benefit costs rose 3.3%, in the previous 12 months they rose 2.5%.  Wage costs are also blamed, not because employees are actually being paid more but because their productivity is going down (of course, who wants to continue busting their ass for some employer who won’t give them a decent raise or who could kill their jobs without warning?).

Wisconsin: Restaurant Pastiche shutting down their Bay View-Milwaukee location in August.  The owners are focusing on their other restaurants.

WARN=Worker Adjustment & Retraining Notification.

I found a 2010 AFL-CIO analysis (titled The Public Availability of WARN Notices: Lack of Accessibility and Disclosure…) which proves what I’ve been suspecting in my search of state WARN notices; most states are not complying with federal WARN regulations and are not publicizing or tracking mass layoffs.

Former employees who receive severance are not counted as unemployed!

Employees of religious non-profits might not qualify for unemployment assistance: “If the non-profit organization is a church, you may or may not be entitled to unemployment. It all depends upon state regulations for church employers. In many cases, churches are allowed to set their own rules regarding unemployment benefits, meaning the church can choose whether to offer benefits to former employees.”

The U.S. Department of Labor (DoL) no longer issues mass layoff reports: “On March 1, 2013, President Obama ordered into effect the across-the- board spending cuts (commonly referred to as sequestration) required by the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act, as amended. Under the order, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) must cut its current budget by more than $30 million, 5 percent of the current 2013 appropriation, by September 30, 2013. In order to help achieve these savings and protect core programs, the BLS will eliminate two programs, including Mass Layoff Statistics, and all ‘measuring green jobs’ products. This news release is the final publication of monthly mass layoff survey data.”

“it’s a teacher famine!” Mass exodus of teachers, blame ObamaCare! No more Hastings? : U.S. Job Losses & Closings 11 June 2016

Incomplete list of U.S. job loss announcements and shutdowns.

California: Save Mart issued a shutdown WARN for their Vacaville distribution center, 325 jobs gone by mid-August!  Alcoa issued a layoff WARN for their Fontana operations, 189 jobs gone by August! Also in Fontana, Ryder laying off 47 people by August. CVS Pharmacy consolidating its Coram financial ops, resulting in 152 people in Rancho Cordova becoming jobless in September!  Corizon Health eliminating 156 jobs in two locations by the end of the month!  In Corona, Switzerland based drugs maker Actavis issued a layoff WARN, 31 jobs gone by August.  In Modesto, American Medical Response-Centrex laying off eight people by Xmas.  StemCells shutting down its Newark and Sunnyvale locations, 53 jobs lost by August.  Prometheus Laboratories laying off 55 San Diegans by August. What automotive industry recovery? In Chowchilla, Brake Parts continues its shutdown, 65 people laid off by the end of July.  More proof you brick-n-mortar store owners can’t directly blame the internet/high-tech competition for your demise; United Technologies shuts down their San Diego office at the end of July.  Software company Veritas Technologies revealed they laid off 128 people in Mountain View, back in May!  Steiner eOptics (aka Laser Devices) shutting down their Monterey location, 69 jobs gone by August. Connecticut based Xerox shutting down their Cerritos location, 39 jobs lost by August.

Delaware: Two years ago Hastings entertainment stores were sold to Draw Another Circle, now it’s up for sale again.  Administrators with Draw Another Circle say if nobody buys it then all remaining 126 Hastings stores will be shutdown affecting at least 1-thousand jobs! It’s blamed on crashing sales.

Idaho: It’s been revealed that a major buyer of Idaho potatoes, Japan, has banned the ‘fresh’ version of the iconic food product since 2006.  That’s the year that the pale cyst nematode showed up in east Idaho farms.    Japan has imported fresh potatoes from other U.S. states since then.  Mining companies from Canada and China have signed a $700-million USD deal to open a molybdenum mine near Boise.  Administrators with American CuMo Mining and MCC8 Group say Idaho has the largest moly-b deposits in the world!  $100-million of the $700-million deal will be used to study the viability of the mining ops before any mining takes place.  In Boise, an Oregon woman pled guilty to stealing $850-thousand USD from corrupt ‘christian’ run Saint Luke’s Health System.  The woman ran the scam through her Boise employer Pinnacle Pension Services.  Saint Luke’s itself has been caught ‘stealing’ local tax dollars.

The economy is so bad that there is an official teacher “famine” in eastern Idaho schools.  According to numbers presented by east Idaho school districts, between 2009 and 2014 at least 9-thousand 569 teachers fled eastern Idaho schools!  Statewide only 11 of Idaho’s 70 school districts were able to fill vacant positions, at the same time there is and exodus of education students as well. Between 2009 and 2013 there was a 35% drop in college students entering a teacher training program (what happened to Idaho’s free tuition if somebody became a teacher in Idaho?).  Idaho Education News revealed that the state Department of Education does not keep track of such data, it’s coming from local districts and the universities themselves, implying that exalted state ‘lawmakers’ are ignoring the situation.  Local school district administrators admit low pay for teachers is the main reason for the exodus, but say ObamaCare has jacked up the cost of employee benefits so high that they can’t afford to pay teachers mo-money: “I would not say it’s a teacher shortage we are experiencing, it’s a teacher famine!”-Randy Lords, Madison School District

Mississippi: The Walnut Grove state prison being shut down due to the “budget is lower than what we anticipated”.

Missouri: In Saint Louis, the Luna Lounge shutting down, the owner saying “a lot of factors” were responsible with the deciding factor being “I don’t want to be working until 1:30 a.m. any more.”

Pennsylvania: Pittsburgh base for-profit Brown Mackie College shutting down all U.S. 22 campuses by 2018!   Layoffs begin now, enrollments halted.  It’s directly connected to Brown Mackie owner Education Management’s problems with meeting tougher U.S. Department of Education rules.

Texas: University of Texas asking employees to voluntarily quit (buyouts) and eliminated 50 vacant positions.  40 academic programs threatened.

Jimmy John’s forces employees into illegal contracts? 80% drop in book sales! Mass layoffs non-stop in California! : U.S. Job Losses & Closings 10 June 2016

Incomplete list of U.S. job loss announcements and shutdowns.

California:  Vegetable grower Hiji Brothers shutting down, 260 people in Oxnard jobless by August! No official reason was given for the shutdown.  Benz Sanitation-Propane issued a layoff WARN, 132 people in Tehachapi jobless by August!  Switzerland based Nestlé issued a layoff WARN, 72 people in Modesto jobless by the end of July (supposedly temporarily).  Renewable energy company SunEdison continues killing jobs, this time 121 people in three locations were laid off at the end of May!   In Los Angeles, restaurant Yamashiro shutting down tomorrow, 82 jobs lost.  Also in LA, Bloomingdale’s shutting down their 59th & Lex Cafe, 17 jobs lost (supposedly temporarily).  In Santa Monica, Buca Restaurant 2 issued a shutdown WARN, 39 jobs lost by August.  Interesting, Abbot Vascular officially (and finally) revealed it laid off 160 people in Redwood City, back in December 2015!   In San Diego, Scripps Health revealed it laid off 122 people in May!  National Retail Transportation issued a shutdown WARN for its Fontana location, 125 jobs gone by the end of July!  In San Francisco, British empire United Kingdom based BAE revealed it laid off 54 people in May.   Newspaper The Fresno Bee eliminating 85 jobs by the end of July. Food packager Pactiv shutting down their Vernon operations, 106 jobs gone by July!  What irony, Simply Hired issued a shutdown WARN, 94 people in Sunnyvale jobless by the end of July. More proof you brick-n-mortar store owners can’t directly blame the internet/high-tech competition for your demise; internet slots website Playtika eliminating 111 Santa Monica jobs by August!

Connecticut: After 16 years Salem Feed & Grain shutting down due to declining sales and the owner focusing on other businesses.

Florida: After 35 years Turner Tree and Landscape chapter 11 bankrupt busted due to $7-million USD of debts.

Illinois: Switzerland based Zurich Insurance Group warned of massive layoffs, including at its 1-hundred-years-plus old Chicago office, but refused to give numbers.  Also in Chicago, after 34 years Itto Sushi shutting down by the end of the month.  Pleasant house Bakery shutdown, supposedly it’s being replaced with a pub.   Oak+Char restaurant shutdown due to disputes between the owners.  The state Attorney General is suing Jimmy John’s sandwich shops for forcing employees to sign illegal ‘noncompete’ contracts!

Iowa: Canadian Pacific Railroad shutting down their Nahant maintenance shop, 21 jobs lost.

Kansas: After surviving The Great Depression and numerous recessions Varney’s Book Store shutting down all locations after an 80% drop in sales, due to losing contracts with K-State Student Union bookstore and K-State athletics.

Kentucky: In Lexington, two years after a grand re-opening Shorty’s Market shutting down.  The 2013 shutdown and this new shutdown both blamed on lack of sales.

Massachusetts: Williams-Sonoma shutting down their Holyoke Mall cooking supply store in July.

Minnesota: In Minneapolis, after 68 years Rush’s Bridal shutting down, the family owns the building and can make more money renting it to somebody else.

New York: More proof you brick-n-mortar store owners can’t directly blame the internet/high-tech competition for your demise; NYC based internet publisher Gawker Media now chapter 11 bankrupt busted after losing a $140-million USD lawsuit brought against them by Hulk Hogan. In Ithaca, Standard Art Supply & Souvenir shutdown, no reason given but local news media discovered the property owner was asking the city for permission for new construction. In Rotterdam, Things Remembered shutting down due to not being able to renew the lease.

Oklahoma: Newspaper The Oklahoman shutting down its packaging and printing ops in Oklahoma City, 130 jobs gone by September!  The Oklahoman was Oklahoma’s largest newspaper but will now contract out work to rival Tulsa World.

Texas: More proof you brick-n-mortar store owners can’t directly blame the internet/high-tech competition for your demise; in Austin, former drivers for California based internet companies Uber and Lyft filed multiple lawsuits over their sudden dismissal in May.  The sudden halt to  Uber and Lyft operations is the result of Austin residents approving a new law requiring Uber and Lyft to conduct background checks on ‘independent’ drivers.  Apparently Uber and Lyft didn’t want to comply, so they laid off hundreds (possibly thousands) of people without warning. (Uber has already agreed to settle a lawsuit by 350-thousand drivers in California and Massachusetts who say Uber never reimbursed them for fuel expenses! Lyft is offering to pay California drivers $27-million USD to settle their legal action!)

Migrants kill food store! Taxpayers forced to bring refugees to the U.S.! Delaware steals your money! : U.S. Job Losses & Closings 09 June 2016

Incomplete list of U.S. job loss announcements and shutdowns.

California: France owned security camera and equipment maker Pelco laid off at least 43 people in Clovis.  Administrators say the current economy is forcing them to “focus” their operations.  In Los Angeles, ad agency 72andSunny announced it laid off “2%” of its employees in an attempt to maintain the “long term health” of the company.

Delaware: It’s been revealed by a lawsuit launched by 21 states (Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, West Virginia) that Delaware state administrators are in cahoots with MoneyGram, JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, Bank of America, Western Union, Visa  and MasterCard by illegally holding onto $150-million worth of yet-to-be-cashed checks (call it an ‘unclaimed funds’ scam) from customers across the U.S.: “This practice not only violates federal law but it’s wrong and unfair. The bottom line is simple: Delaware is ignoring federal law for financial gain.”-Ken Paxton, Texas Attorney General

Florida: In Sarasota, Vertex issued a WARN, 1-hundred people jobless between August and Xmas!   News-Press/Gannett Publishing eliminating 79 jobs in Marco Island and Fort Myers, between July and August.

Valley Agronomics construction on FMC superfund site, Power County

Valley Agronomics construction on FMC superfund site, Power County

Idaho: Some good news?  15 years after shutting down their Power County phosphorus operations FMC declared their EPA superfund site is now ready to be the new home to Rupert based Valley Agronomics‘ new fertilizer plant (Valley Agronomics is owned by Minnesota based Land O’Lakes).  The arrogant ‘christian’ governor of Idaho, Butch Otter, proudly boasted that this was a sign the area’s economy has “risen from the ashes” and then flat lied by saying “…when somebody says we’re gonna return, we’re gonna come back! You can trust us that we will keep our promise in coming back. I want you to remember this day Valley Agronomics and FMC because they told us that! They told us that we can trust them…”   This is a lie because it’s not FMC “coming back”, and Valley Agronomics never operated out of the site before!   The so called Phoenix Site (as declared by Otter) will employ a measly 50 people once it’s up and running in 2017 (incompetent local TV stations have been reporting 70 jobs created, but those are the temporary construction jobs).  I don’t think that qualifies as a local economy that’s “risen from the ashes”.

Otter also quietly revealed to local news media that the once touted Solar Farm project at the Pocatello Airport is dead.

Iowa: British empire United Kingdom owned textbook and test publisher Pearson conducted a third round of layoffs, bring the total number of people laid off in Iowa City to 166!  Local news media say the Red Coat company blames the job cuts on fewer and fewer ‘Americans’ going to college.  Yes, most of your ‘American’ textbooks are actually made by the British empire! Is it part of the dumbing down of the United States conspiracy?

Kentucky: Pike County eliminating at least 19 jobs due to being $4-million USD short for the 2016-17 fiscal year.  As an example of what I call Ripple Effect Layoffs, it’s blamed on the crashing coal mining industry.

Maryland:  More proof you brick-n-mortar store owners can’t directly blame the internet/high-tech competition for your demise; Missouri based finance and healthcare software maker DST Systems shutdown its Baltimore office.

Michigan: Port Huron School Board eliminating  12 teaching positions.  It’s blamed on a loss of student body, but could it also be because their parking lot improvement project is costing them way more than they thought it would?  In Midland, Stanley’s Furniture shutting down after 65 years.  The 74 years old owner said he wanted to shutdown five years ago, he credits his success on being able to know what the trends are.

Minnesota: After 39 years Shady Acres Herb Farm shutting down, the owners blame their health problems. In Saint Paul, the Community School of Excellence eliminating 19 jobs and changing academic programs.  Local news media say the charter school is in danger of shutdown due to lack of “performance”.

Incomplete list of U.S. job loss announcements and shutdowns.

Circle of Blue reports that since 2010 there’s been an average increase of 48% in municipal water rates across the U.S., despite a 22% drop in residential water use since 1999!   In other words, to make up for citizens actually conserving water (like they’ve been told to do, for decades) cities have lost money and are jacking up rates!

Financial website WalletHub says Mississippi has the worst economy in the United States, followed by Arkansas, Maine, New Mexico, Louisiana, Kentucky and Alabama.  WalletHub based their results on analysis by six economists (not main stream media ‘analysts’ posing as economist).

Alabama: In Northport, after 22 years educational supply store Learning Experience shutting down, the owners want “more time for ourselves…and our grandchildren.”

Idaho: Due to a lawsuit, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is withdrawing its approval for the way Idaho measures toxic arsenic levels in water (the EPA’s decision to let Idaho ‘christian lawmakers’ ignore arsenic limit regulations seems to coincide with  state ‘officials’ quietly allowing natural gas fracking operations).  It sounds similar to what happened in Flint, Michigan: “EPA violated the Clean Water Act when it allowed arsenic levels in Idaho waters that are up to 1,000 times greater than the agency has determined are acceptable for this toxic chemical.  EPA placed political expediency over human health protection.– Nina Bell, Northwest Environmental Advocates

Michigan:  The residents of Flint already pay the highest water rates in the U.S., soon their rates will double due to the incompetence of past ‘elected lawmakers’.  Rowe Professional Service says the cost of replacing the water system in Flint will be at least $214-million USD, and take 50 years to do it!  The pissed-off Sheriff of Genesee County blames an incompetent authoritarian government for escalating violent crime through lead poisoning: “The crime rate in Flint, for the last 10 to 15 years has been high, number one per capita of violent crime… This crisis…wasn’t created by a natural disaster, people created it.  They put dictators into Flint, they called them emergency managers. One of the emergency managers signed over the Flint River without all of the safeguards built in. Now they’re all pointing their fingers at each other, but the lesson has got to be that you cannot take government away from the people.   ……this is America? We’re giving money to Iraq….Afghanistan and we’re not taking care of our own people, that’s bullshit!”-Robert J. Pickell, in the documentary Fighting for Flint
