A desperate Eddie Lampert has cut in half his asking price for Sears Canada, now only $380-million.  He failed at auctioning off the 51% his Sears Holdings controls, he was hoping to get $750-million!  But wait, this is getting confusing.  What’s really going on is that Sears Canada is being listed on NASDAQ towards the end of October.  As such stockholders in Sears Holdings will be able to buy Sears Canada stock at a set price (option), and apparently Eddie Lampert’s ESL Partners has put in to buy $168-million of it.

74 more jobs lost as a New Jersey Kmart shuts down in time for Xmas!

It’s been revealed, during a promotional hearing, that another Chicago Sears is being shutdown.  This time property developers revealed it is being torn down and re-built as a new Sears with an attached Mariano’s grocery store.  But wait, local news reports say the developers have yet to submit their construction plans to the city.  Developers also said that once the old Sears is torn down it would be about 17 months before construction on the new building could start, that is if their plans are approved by the city, and the Too Big to Jail banks approve the financing.  Oh, apparently the developers are hoping the city will cut them some tax breaks to pay for demolishing the old Sears.   No word on how many employees would be laid off.

In Missouri, a cop shot a suspected Kmart jewelry thief.  Here’s the thing, the cops were already hyped up about catching the thief, because they were staking out the store due to reports of previous thefts.

The cops chased the guy to his SUV, then as the suspect jumped into his SUV one of the cops jumped into the car as well.  There was a fight, the suspect drove off for about 100 meters before being shot in the leg by a cop.  The suspect was “armed with a screwdriver”.

As usual the cops say they were the ones fearing for their lives!  Did they ever think that the suspect was fear for his life?  After all the only ‘weapon’ he had was a screwdriver and he was running for his life.  The cops, armed with tazers (which they claim they tried to use) and guns, were the ones who chased him and then jumped into his SUV and grappled him.  But oh no, they were fearing for their lives because he had a scary screwdriver and was driving away from them in his SUV, so they shot him.

Ever notice that?  The police always shoot somebody who’s trying to get away from them, and then the cops claim it was because they were fearing for their own safety.  So cops get scared when you try to run away from them?

Of course the cop who was a dumb ass and jumped into the SUV as the suspect tried to drive off has some injuries to his shoulder, back and hip.  But again it wasn’t the suspect who was being aggressive, it was the cops.

Police stated they “think” the jewelry might be worth $31-thousand, but that’s over several days of robberies, which brings up another question: Why did it take so long for Kmart’s Loss Prevention people to act?  The thefts were being done during the day when the store was open for business, and they have the thefts on camera.

Wisconsin Sears Rebuild center shutting down, in time for Xmas!  Does this have anything to do with the bomb threat against a Wauwatosa Kmart?  Milwaukee County Sheriff’s deputies responded and swept the store with their dogs.

Reports that Sears Canada will be filing for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.  This follows the resignation of their CEO.  Officials with Sears Canada swear they can make it through the end of year holiday season, but an unnamed source told the New York Post that Sears Canada has contacted a bankruptcy law firm.   Sears Holdings owns 51% of Sears Canada.
