“The process is a simple, one-pot synthesis. You dump the ingredients together and you can get results in half an hour. It’s almost as if the diamondoids know where they want to go.”-Hao Yan, Stanford researcher
U.S. Department of Energy’s California based Stanford Linear Accelerator Center-National Accelerator Laboratory, and Stanford University, succeeded in creating micro electrical wires using micro-diamonds (officially called diamonoids) and interlocking cages of carbon and hydrogen, among other things.
Don’t think this process will get us off petroleum oil, the diamonoids, carbon and hydrogen come from oil. The process essentially results in the micro-wires assembling themselves: “Much like Lego blocks, they only fit together in certain ways that are determined by their size and shape. The copper and sulfur atoms of each building block wound up in the middle, forming the conductive core of the wire, and the bulkier diamondoids wound up on the outside, forming the insulating shell.”-Fei Hua Li, Stanford researcher
The micro-wires could be used to make those Orwellian clothing, being made to monitor your every move, even more effective. (XENOMA: JAPAN DEVELOPS PARASITIC E-SKIN THAT LETS OTHER PEOPLE KNOW WHAT YOU’RE DOING!)
