Growing number of reports say U.S. funded Al Qaeda affiliated groups have captured the Iraqi city of Fallujah.  French news media says Iraqi officials admit that at least half the city is now under Al Qaeda control, as are parts of the city of Ramadi.  Both cities are in Anbar Province (Al Anbar Governorate), which borders Syria.

Battles in those cities, between U.S. supported Al Qaeda affiliates and the government of Iraq, began on 30 December 2013.   French reporters on the scene report they witnessed truck loads of U.S. backed Al Qaeda fighters joining the battles in Anbar Province.

44 political representatives from the Province of Anbar have resigned from the national government.  One Member of Parliament was arrested, and his brother and several security guards were killed.

Violence in Iraq has also hit a five year high: 7818 civilians and 1050 government personnel killed in 2013.   A week ago, the Obama regime said they would give the Iraqi government weapons to help fight Al Qaeda.
