“Soldiers are now eating pre-prepared rations, and no one was affected. There is a full investigation that is narrowing down who was responsible.”-Major David Eastburn, NATO/ISAF
In eastern Afghanistan someone tried to poison the food at NATO/ISAF Forward Operating Base Torkham. A Pentagon spokesman said they are still trying to determine if it was intentional or accidental. However, “Taliban” sources are claiming responsibility.
Also, breaking news that a U.S./NATO helicopter has been shot down, ten people killed. It was shot down in Nuristan (Nooristan) Province.
According to filmmaker John McHugh, U.S. forces pulled out of Nuristan, because the “Taliban” were kicking their ass (he claims 180 U.S. troops were killed at the end of 2011, just in the provinces of Nuristan and Kundar).
Now, despite President Obama’s claim to take troops out of Afghanistan by 2014, U.S. forces are trying to retake Nuristan. McHugh has seen U.S./NATO/ISAF helicopters get shot down there, most are not being reported in the U.S .media.
McHugh also says U.S. military operations in Afghanistan are incompetent: “Over the course of my stay on [Operation] Mace, I witnessed the truly awesome firepower that the U.S. military brings to a fight. Between their helicopters and jets they had dropped 19 bombs, fired two Hellfire missiles, 205 rockets, 500 rounds of 20 mm, and 210 rounds of 30 mm cannon. They also discharged 3,750 rounds of .50 caliber [12.7 mm] machine gun ammunition. And yet, only once, could they confirm that they had killed a single Taliban fighter.”
