DNA evidence proves sex crimes charges against Assange false!

17 September 2012, a condom given to Swedish police, in relation to the sex crimes charges against Julian Assange, has tested negative for his DNA!

Two laboratories were used, and both concluded the DNA did not belong to Assange!

The revelation came in a 100 page police report.  A condom from another alleged victim did have his DNA, however, the police report says the woman did not mind having sex with him.

Government Evil: It’s official, United Nations says the United States tortured whistleblower Bradley Manning

“What is torture for? It’s really a way of getting false confessions. That’s what it does. That’s what it’s for.”-Daniel Ellsberg, former RAND Corporation employee turned anti-government activist

The UN special rapporteur on torture, Juan Mendez, has formally accused the U.S. government of torturing one of their own citizens!!!

After 14 months of investigation, Mendez concluded that the arrest and detention of whistleblower, U.S. Army Private Bradley Manning, involved cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment!

Manning has been in military prison since 2010.  It included nearly 11 months of solitary confinement: “I conclude that the 11 months under conditions of solitary confinement (regardless of the name given to his regime by the prison authorities) constitutes at a minimum cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment in violation of article 16 of the convention against torture. If the effects in regards to pain and suffering inflicted on Manning were more severe, they could constitute torture.”

Manning was also forced to spend nights standing naked.  Yeah, real good example of being a beacon of hope to the World, United Police States of America!

Mendez says the U.S. Department of Defense fought his 14 month investigation every step of the way, never co-operating, and never allowing him to interview Manning (which is also a violation of international law).  Mendez believes one reason the U.S. tortured Manning was to get information they could use to prosecute WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.

Government Incompetence: After arresting WikiLeaks founder, now the U.K. government asks WikiLeaks for help!

“Leveson Inquiry has asked WikiLeaks for a submission on corruption in the UK press. We have submitted over 100 pages.”-WikiLeaks statement

The British government is now asking its enemy, WikiLeaks, for help in uncovering the ongoing Rupert Murdoch, police/News Corp corruption scandal!

Murdoch’s  (an Australian who became a U.S. citizen just so he could legally start Fox News in the U.S.)  media empire is being investigated for bribing police and government officials (even here in the U.S.).  Already several police officials have lost their jobs in the U.K., including the boss of Scotland Yard.

Back in January 2011, Julian Assange (also from Australia) told British investigators that he had “insurance files” on Rupert Murdoch: “There are 504 U.S. embassy cables on one broadcasting organization and there are cables on Murdoch and News Corp.”

It’s only now that hypocritical, and incompetent, British officials are turning to WikiLeaks for help in their investigation of Murdoch!

Ron Paul salutes Wikileaks & whistleblowers, wins Iowa Straw Poll twice but loses Republican endorsment

On October 29, presidential candidate Ron Paul won the National Federation of Republican Assemblies’ (NFRA) Iowa Straw Poll, twice!  Yet they endorsed Rick Santorum!

What’s the point of holding an election if the winner (twice) is the loser?  I wonder how many Iowa republicans are thinking of jumping ship?

Was Paul ignored by the NFRA because of his praise of government whistleblowers?  He said whistleblowers are necessary so that we can get to the bottom of why things don’t go the way we were told they would, but more so because it could prevent war: “But the area that neither the Democrat nor the Republican leadership seems to welcome any whistle blowing is when there is an exposure on our foreign policy, the fallacies of why we go to war and what we do.”

WikiLeaks founder says Facebook & Twitter are secret spy tools for governments

“Do not use Facebook and Twitter”-Egyptian revolution manual

WikiLeaks founder has told Russian media that he’s discovered that popular social networking tools are really tools for many governments to collect data on the users.

Julian Assange is talking about Facebook, Twitter, even Yahoo and Google.  He says an Egyptian revolution manual warns people not to use the social networking sites, because in past demonstrations, the demonstrators that used Facebook, or Twitter, were immediately targeted and arrested by government forces.  Assange says social networking sites provide governments with a cheap, almost free way to gather information.

“So Facebook in particular, is the most appalling spying machine that has ever been ever invented.”- Julian Assange, Russia Today interview

Assange points out that governments are not directly involved, but are taking advantage of the fact that people love to post even the most detrimental information about themselves, and others, on the internet.

He also says that the social media sites have “…built in interfaces…” with intelligence agencies.  This came as a result of legal pressure from the U.S. government.  Rather than deal with individual court orders for individual databases, media sites decided it would be easier to give government agencies blanket access.

“Everyone should understand that when they add their friends to Facebook they’re doing free work for United States intelligence agencies in building these databases for them.”-Julian Assange, Russia Today interview

Assange’s interview is on RT web site. It is in two parts, totaling 41 minutes.  His comments about social media sites are at the end of the second part.

More WikiLeaks documents on how the U.S. views Ecuador & how Wachovia Bank became a spy

“We are concerned that Iran will try to undertake transactions related to the proliferation of weapons, evading the provisions of Security Council of the United Nations.”-U.S. Embassy cable 226556, September 2009.

The latest documents released by WikiLeaks shows the U.S. fearful of Ecuadorian ties to Iran, and that the U.S. considered Ecuador’s President Rafael Correa as emotionally immature.  This was after he threw out two U.S. diplomats in 2009.

He also accused one of the diplomats, Mark Sullivan, as doubling as the head of CIA operations in Ecuador.

The leaked documents also show concern about the ideological unity of President Correa, and Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez.

In regards to Iran, dozens of documents show that the United States is obsessed with Ecuador’s efforts to establish strong ties with Iran, including deals with Iran’s Central Bank.  The fear is so great that, in February 2010, U.S. officials got Wachovia Bank, which is the largest trade financier in Ecuador, to spy on any of its customers that might be doing transactions with Iran.

Will Obama attack Ecuador? He kicked out their ambassador, oil is involved

Thanks to a WikiLeaks release, tensions between the United States and Ecuador are heating up.

The WikiLeaks document showed that the U.S. ambassador to Ecuador, Heather M. Hodges, made some not so nice comments about their President. Apparently President Rafael Correa gave her a chance to retract, or explain, her statements, and she allegedly refused. She was then declared persona non grata (unwelcome) in Ecuador, but not officially kicked out.

Now the United States has actually kicked out the ambassador from Ecuador. The U.S. State Department says it’s in retaliation for Ecuador ordering Hodges out of the country, which President Correa disputes. Correa says they simply said she was no longer welcome, but they were not “kicking her out”.

This continues a long list of problems between Ecuador and the U.S. In the past few years the United States was pushing Ecuador to allow U.S. military bases to be set up on their soil. The official reason was to fight drugs in Columbia, but many people believe it was to encircle Hugo Chavez in Venezuela. President Correa responded, in 2009, by saying that the only way the U.S. could build bases in Ecuador, was if Ecuador was allowed to build bases in the United States.

Now we have the WikiLeaks/ambassador fiasco. What’s next, oil? Maybe!

Ecuador has oil! They have been fighting international legal battles to prevent oil companies from coming in and drilling. That’s right, they do NOT want anymore oil pumped out of their ground. Ecuador does have active oil fields, but they don’t want anymore. The oil corporations, backed by governments (Chevron/United States), are saying to bad so sad, you just a piddly country, what you gonna do about it?

So far Ecuador has been petitioning United Nations members, but not getting much support.  There’s estimated to be hundreds of millions of barrels of oil still to be drilled and pumped out in Ecuador.  And with the price of oil making it more tempting, could President Obama (or any other future U.S. president) be planning some kinda humanitarian military intervention in Ecuador?
