Return to the Empire: A-M-P-V making profits off U.S. taxpayers, for the British Empire!

The ‘new’ Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle (AMPV) was created to replace the Cold War/Viet Nam era M113, it is actually based on another Cold War era infantry vehicle known as the M2/M3 Bradley.  The British empire (Commonwealth of Nations) company BAE Systems (formerly known as British Aerospace or BAe) took over Bradley production when it bought-out United Defense in 2005.  Also, BAE produces the new M109A7 self propelled artillery gun, which is based on the M2 Bradley hull.  BAE also produces the towed artillery gun M777.  BAE even produced modified versions of M113s for Canada. In 2008, BAE took over M113 upgrades for Australia.  (Clue, BAE M113s have six roadwheels instead of five)

In 2014, the U.S. Army awarded a taxpayer funded contract to BAE to modify 2-thousand-907 Bradleys into AMPVs, to replace M113s.

I’m a Cold War veteran (signing-up in 1982, the year after the Bradley began service) and I remember that the Bradley was first sold to the U.S. public as being the replacement for the M113, yet here we are more than 40 years later and we are still using the M113, but now both the M113 and Bradleys, and their ‘new’ replacements, are made by a British empire company!

The BAE AMPV began testing in 2017, on the Yuma Proving Grounds (YPG) in Arizona.  Five variants were proposed.  It was kind of a ‘no shit, Sherlock’ moment when they promoted the AMPV as being bigger than the M113, when the AMPV is just a modified Bradley, which is naturally bigger than the M113.

In 2018, testing shifted to Fort Hood, Texas.  The AMPV is intended to replace five variants of the M113: Medical Treatment, Ambulance, General Purpose, Mortar Carriers, and Command Post.

In 2021-22, testing moved to the jungles of Panama (reportedly the first U.S. tracked vehicle tested in Panama since the 1980s) and the snow/ice of Alaska.

On 06MAR2023, the Farnborough, United Kingdom, based BAE Systems was ‘awarded’ a U.S. taxpayer funded for mass produced AMPVs, which will replace the M113s and LAVs (Light Armored Vehicles) donated to Ukraine!

On 14MAR2023, the U.S. Army revealed that the Department of Defense’s 2024 budget already includes purchase of AMPVs.

Also on 14MAR2023, the U.S. Army’s 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team-3rd Infantry Division, on Fort Stewart, Georgia, is already equipped with the new AMPV! And the U.S. Army reportedly is asking for mass production of 16 AMPVs per month for the next two years!

Return to the Empire: In the late 1990s, under the Bill Clinton regime, Marconi Electronic Systems (MES, originally an Italian company) began taking over U.S. defense contractors.  In 1999, MES and BAe merged to create BAE Systems, apparently to stop a U.S. defense contractor from taking over MES.  In 2001, the same year the False Flag War on Terror began, BAE Systems aggressively invaded the U.S. defense industry, taking over many U.S. companies, including cyber security companies.

Vehicle I-D: Canada’s British Empire M113, not your Uncle Sam’s M113

Canada began using the original M113A1 (Diesel powered version) in the late 1960s, it is not to be confused with the earlier M113 Command & Recon Lynx, which was a shortened, lightweight version of the gasoline powered M113.

The original M113 was developed by the United States based FMC, then continued under United Defense, then taken over by the British empire’s BAE Systems.  The BAE upgraded M113s are known as Mobile Tactical Vehicle Light (MTVL), or also as Tracked Light Armoured Vehicle (TLAV).  And to confuse you even more, each ‘fit-out’ (version) of the MTVL/TLAV has its own special acronym.

A major visual difference between a new NATO-Canadian M113 and the old NATO-U.S. M113 can be seen in the types of tracks and drive sprockets used, and the fact that they have six roadwheels as opposed to the U.S. M113s with five roadwheels!

Retirements began in 2018 and are ongoing, as the new EC-37B is only now coming off the production line.  Unfortunately, just like the EC-37B the British empire’s BAE System is also involved with the EC-130H (another Yankee taxpayer feather in the cap of the Red Coats).  A total of 14 modified EC-130H served in the USAF.

First flight 1981, entered service 1982, costs $165-million each. By October 2021, the EC-130H Compass Call had been flying for 40 years.   However, keep in mind that the first Compass Calls were modified C-130Hs that had already been flying for at least a decade (known as Baseline 1 aircraft)!

12JUN2019, the 43rd Electronic Combat Squadron (Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona) deployed to NATO Poland, for the first time in the Squadron’s history.  Compass Call worked alongside fighter aircraft (in U.S. English the word aircraft is both singular and plural, do not add an ‘s’ at the end of the word aircraft) of the U.S. and Polish air forces. In 2018, the oldest EC-130H was retired, it was tail number was 65-0989.  According to the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing, it was originally a C-130H built in 1965.  65-0989 was one of the first C-130Hs to be modified for the Compass Call mission.  In 2018, the older Compass Calls were being replaced with newer/upgraded C-130s (known as Baseline 2, 5th generation electronic attack aircraft).

Here’s another Yankee taxpayer feather in the cap of the British Empire’s (Commonwealth of Nations) military industrial complex; the new EC-37B has arrived!

Sometime in August 2022 (not sure because the date of the U.S. Air Force [USAF] video says the 3rd, but the photos are dated the 17th), a naked (not yet painted) EC-37B Cross Deck-Compass Call landed at Davis Monthan Air Force Base(AFB), in Arizona.

The EC-37B Cross Deck-Compass Call electronic warfare aircraft is replacing the retiring EC-130H Compass Call.  The EC-37B is made by the notorious United Kingdom based BAE Systems.

The old, yet reliable, EC-130H is a military plane from the start, yet the new EC-37B is not; it is based on the Gulfstream G550 business jet. The U.S. Congress has already paid for at least four EC-37Bs, and has left the door open for additional purchases through 2025!  Snake-oil salesmen claim the EC-37B is more survivable than a C-130H (what ever-dude, I used to Crew Chief C-130Hs, and rode on many C-130Es and Hs in my life, I know it is one the toughest aircraft in USAF inventory)!

Gulfstream is a U.S. company, but according to the USAF the EC-37B electronic warfare version is built by United Kingdom’s BAE.

The military version of the G550 platform has already been in use by the United States; the U.S. Navy has been using different versions of the C-37A/NC-37B, at a cost to Yankee taxpayers of $64-million for each plane! At least four aircraft in use, one C-37A since 2002, three C-37Bs since 2005, and one NC-37B since 2018.  The USAF also uses the C-37A/B, spending as much as $55-million per aircraft (apparently they got a better deal)!

The Commonwealth of Nation’s Australia and Singapore already operate similar electronic warfare versions of the G550.

The Balfour Declaration of 1926 created a new form of the British Empire called The Commonwealth of Nations.  Members are not truly independent, they are autonomous and supposedly ‘voluntary members’, yet they are required to maintain “allegiance to the Crown”.

In 1949, it was declared that the King/Queen of England is now the official boss of The Commonwealth.

And don’t think it isn’t expanding: “The Commonwealth’s roots go back to the British Empire. But today any country can join the modern Commonwealth. The last country to join the Commonwealth was Rwanda in 2009.”

On 16SEP2020, the 2nd Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment (2-82 FA), 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division fired its first shots with next-gen M109A7, at Fort Hood, Texas.

Here’s why it is not a Paladin: At first it might be hard to tell the difference between an M109A7 and the M109A6.  It is not just a radical upgrade of the M109A6, it is a totally new vehicle.  The hull of the M109A7 is not your father’s/grandfather’s M109, it is based on the lower hull of the Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle.

More examples of why the ‘A7’ is not a Paladin: In this 2016 photo of a M109A6 on Fort Riley, California, you can clearly see the recoil spade on the back of the hull (one on each side of the access door).  The M109A7 has no spades.  You can also see the type of track, which is skinnier than that used on the M109A7.

The M109A6 has a 440 horsepower diesel, while the M109A7 has a 600hp engine.  According to British sources, the M109A7 requires only four crewmembers and has automated loading of the gun, which can be aimed while the vehicle is moving.

The U.S. Army awarded a $688-million contract to BAE Systems, in October 2013, for the production of Paladin M109A7.  BAE is a British Empire company (formerly British Aerospace BAe, and GEC-Marconi/Marconi Electronic Systems MES).  In 2015, BAE got another $245-million from the U.S. Army, for the M109A7 and the M992A3 Field Artillery Ammunition Supply Vehicle.  Another $414-million was paid to BAE at the end of 2017!  All that was in addition to the total of at least $377-million paid to BAE to upgrade the M109A6 and M992A2 under the Paladin Integrated Management (PIM) program!

The sky around eastern Idaho is socked in with smoke as the 2017-18 wildfire season roars up (I don’t think I’ve ever seen it so smokey around here, and I’ve been here 20 years).  The water bombing aircraft based at Pocatello Airport were busy during daylight; non-stop landings, reloading, take-offs, for hours on-end until dark.

12 October 2012, two Carrier Strike Groups (CSG) led by USS Stennis and the USS Washington, conducted joint flight operations and anti-submarine drills in the Andaman Sea.

The Andaman Sea is just west of Myanmar.  The two CSGs employ more than 10,000 USN and USMC personnel.

Rear Admiral Gaouette mentions the importance of increasing the presence of the United States in the Asia Pacific area (aka forward presence operations), but no mention of the original plan to send the USS Stennis to the Persian Gulf.

At the beginning of 2012, Iranian military officials gave a dire warning: “…we are not in the habit of repeating a warning and we warn only once.”-Major General Ataollah Salehi, Iranian Army, 03 January 2012 threat against USS Stennis

Iranians claim the USS Stennis deliberately sailed through Iranian naval war games, and sailed danger close to Iranian oil platforms.

In July it was announced the USS Stennis would return to the Persian Gulf, four months ahead of schedule. The aircraft carrier left its home port in Bremerton, Washington, on 27 August 2012 for an eight month deployment.

So far, the two CSGs have spent a lot of time in and around the now hotly disputed South China Sea.  Most of the countries that border the South China Sea are currently in a war of words over who has rights to access natural resources, mainly petroleum.  Those countries include Korea, Japan and China.

In September it was revealed that the Stennis CSG is armed with a new Advanced Precision Kill Weapons System (APKWS). These weapons come from a Red Coat British empire company, BAE.

The APKWS is basically “…a standard unguided 2.75-inch (70 millimeter) rocket into a precision laser guided rocket to give warfighters a low cost surgical strike capability.”-BAE statement

Admiral Jonathan Greenert says the updated short range missile (now that it’s guided it’s a missile) system is needed to fight off smaller Iranian attack ships. Greenert wants all U.S. military vessels, deploying to the Persian Gulf, to be equipped with the BAE system.   Reports are confusing as it seems the Stennis CSG is not completely updated with APKWS.  Greenert said the cost to update a CSG is about $250 million (U.S. taxes going to make money for the Red Coats).

BAE is the result of a merger between British Aerospace and Marconi Electronics. It is the sixth largest military contractor for the United States. They just won a $97 million U.S. taxpayer dollar contract to “reset” Bradley armored personnel carriers  (more U.S. taxes going to make money for the Red Coats).

Speaking of U.S. taxpayer money being spent outside the U.S., according to officials with the city of Phuket, Thailand, U.S. military personnel spent up to $326,000 USD during their five day shore leave. And that’s just one out of dozens of port of calls made by the U.S. Navy and Marines around the world.

U.S. military personnel are paid with tax dollars, but while thousands of sailors and Marines are spending hundreds of thousands of U.S. taxes in foreign ports (for who knows what), their loved ones back home in the states are spending money to donate items to sailors and Marines!

According to he Wythe-Bland Navy for Moms project, for the end of year holiday season at least 4,800 care packages and cards will be sent to USN and USMC personnel (supposedly most people back in the states think these highly paid warriors are somehow deprived).

Someone should do a study to see how much is spent in the U.S. on care packages versus how much is spent by USN and USMC (as well as USAF & USA) personnel in other countries!

Don’t bitch at me! I’m former military, as is my father, uncle, grandfathers, great grandfathers, and my son (until he had a stroke, which the USA conveniently label “prior existing condition” so he doesn’t get VA help!).  What I can’t stand is inefficiency, waste and ignorance. Here we have prime examples of U.S. taxpayer money being spent on weapon systems made by foreigners, U.S. military personnel spending huge amounts of their taxpayer funded paychecks in the countries they visit rather than at home where the economy is going down the toilet, and their loved ones struggling to put together care packages ’cause they think that somehow their warriors are deprived!?

The city of Phuket, Thailand, also reported that 19 sailors (only 19 out of the thousands that make up a CSG?) volunteered to help build a drainage line for rainwater runoff at an orphanage.

Idaho Wildfire Update, 12 September 2012: Another smokey day, more air tankers arrive at Pocatello Tanker Base. Evacuations in effect!

“Large fires Washington, Oregon, Montana and Idaho made significant acreage gains over the past 24 hours. In Washington, the Barker Canyon Complex burned more than 75,000 acres, and the Apache Pass fire burned 10,000. The Dutch fire in Montana grew by nearly 16,000 acres, and the Mustang fire in Idaho burned an additional 8,400 acres. About 14,500 firefighters and support personnel are currently assigned to large fires across the country.”-National Interagency Fire Center statement

There haven’t been any new fires reported in eastern Idaho, but there are still major fires burning throughout the state, and region.  More privately run air tankers have landed at Pocatello Tanker Base (Pocatello airport), including a second BAe-146-200; tanker 40 of Montana’s Neptune Aviation (leased from Tronos in Canada).

There are now nine large fires burning throughout Idaho.

Halstead Fire: More than 150,000 acres (60,702.8 hectares), evacuations in effect.

McGuire Complex Fire: More than 25,000 acres (10,117.14 hectares), evacuations are in effect.

Mustang Complex Fire: More than 289,000 acres (116,954.15 hectares), area closures are in effect.

Porcupine Complex Fire: More than 17,800 acres (7,203.4 hectares).

Powell SBW Complex Fire: More than 42,000 acres (16,996.79 hectares), area closures are in effect.

Sheep Fire: More than 21,600 acres (8,741.2 hectares), evacuations are in effect.

Skull Fire: New fire 35 miles northeast of Roundup.

Trinity Ridge Fire: More than 146,500 acres (59,286.44 hectares), area closures are in effect.

Wesley Fire: More than 3,800 acres (1,537.8 hectares), residences are threatened.

IDAHO WILDFIRE UPDATE, 11 SEPTEMBER 2012: MORE CANADIAN AIRCRAFT ARRIVE AT POCATELLO

Idaho Wildfire Update, 11 September 2012: More Canadian aircraft arrive at Pocatello; BAe 146. U.S. capitalist aviation companies can’t handle the competition?

11 September 2012, a large and new firefighting aircraft has been seen flying in and out of Pocatello airport (Pocatello Tanker Base) the past few days.  It’s a British Aerospace (BAe) 146 flown by Neptune Aviation of Montana (leased from Tronos in Canada).

The use of the BAe 146 has been delayed in the United States, due to complaints filed by U.S. aviation companies that do not want the competition from the 146.  The disputes are being reviewed by the U.S. General Accountability Office (GAO).

The latest update is that Neptune Aviation’s tanker 41 has been given a contract to help fight the fires, from 01 September to 09 November 2012.
