Faryab Province: In Garziwan District, battles between government and Mujahideen forces left at least six people dead, three wounded.
Ghazni Province: In Gelan District, National Directorate of Security (NDS) used a reverse suicide bomber to kill 16 Afghan and Pakistani Mujahideen. Nine wounded. There were also major battles in the province, on election day, with at least 54 people being killed.
Kabul Province: In Kabul City, more explosions, this time the Interior Ministry was hit and six cops killed, dozens wounded.
Khost Province: Reports of riots between supporters of different political candidates. A cop shot and killed a ‘Western’ reporter, and shot and wounded another. Of course Western media blamed Mujahideen, even though it was a cop who did it!
Kunar Province: Government officials called in a U.S. drone strike that wounded at least ten people wounded. Two people killed. Even though women were among the casualties, government officials said all the victims are Mujahideen. In Nari District, yet another U.S. air strike, this time five people killed, several wounded.
Logar Province: In Charkh District, sounds like a reverse suicide bomber killed six Mujahideen. It’s starting to look like the claims by the government of Mujahideen “accidentally” blowing themselves up are really NDS reverse suicide bomber ops.
Paktika Province: In Wana District, reports that Afghan and Pakistani Mujahideen fought each other. Reports say the Afghan Mujahideen stopped planned attacks on Afghan voting stations by the Pakistani Mujahideen.
The Afghan government shut down the Short Message Service (SMS) for cell phones, claiming candidates were using it to violate election laws. The government also arrested people in at least three provinces for “ballot box stuffing”. Isn’t ‘democracy’ wonderful?
