“We will never again allow Bolivia or Latin America to be your backyard!”-Juan Evo Morales Ayma, President of Bolivia
On the 01 May 2013 the president of Bolivia, Juan Evo Morales Ayma, expelled the U.S. Agency for International Development for “…alleged political interference in peasant unions and other social organizations.”
Morales was also pissed by the arrogant statements of the U.S. Secretary of State: “The Western Hemisphere is our backyard, it is of vital importance to us.”-John Kerry, 17 April 2013
Prior to this incident it was revealed that the uncle of the alleged Boston Bombings suspects, Ruslan Tsarni, is an oil executive who used to work for Halliburton and USAID!
It’s also been revealed, and ignored by the main streamer U.S. media, that the elder (and dead) Boston Bombing suspect attended meetings of the Caucasus Fund of Georgia (CFG) in 2012. CFG is directly supported by the U.S. christian republican Jamestown Foundation, which in turn is receiving U.S. taxpayer funding from USAID!
At the end of April 2013 it was revealed at the Darfur Donors Conference that USAID is giving Sudan $600 million USD per year in taxpayer funded “development” aid. But wait, it was also revealed that more than half of that money, at least $400 million, goes to UNAMID (United Nations Mission in Darfur), which is not concerned with “development” but is a UN created paramilitary organization!
In 2012, Russian officials banned USAID from operating in their country, because they discovered that most of USAID’s efforts are involved with political activities, not helping people better their economic lives. The Russians also banned many non-governmental agencies for being connected to USAID.
In Paraguay, in 2012 a covert pro-U.S. president was thrown out of office (where was the U.S. main streamer media on this one?) after several riots over land confiscation left at least 17 people dead. The pro-U.S. president, Fernando Lugo, was being heavily funded with U.S. tax dollars from USAID. Lugo had presented himself as a socialist leaning politician, it turned out he was a crony capitalist. On the day of the overthrow of Lugo USAID officials were trying to figure out a way to bring the new Federico Franco government to the dark side of the force: “…how we can best approach new leadership to ensure not only stability in programming, but ability to march forward.”-Michael Eschleman, director of the Democracy and Threshold Programs at USAID
Well USAID must’ve found a way to buy off the new president of Paraguay, Federico Franco, because the Obama administration approves: “The most important thing at this point is to look for constructive ways…to engage with the Paraguayans, including with the Franco government.”-Roberta Jacobson, Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs
Jacobson was asked by a reporter if what happened in Paraguay last year was a U.S. supported coup, her response was “I’m not going to answer that question.”
USAID has been giving Paraguay millions in U.S. tax dollars, including millions for building up Paraguay’s national police force. It’s part of a program called Threshold, which is meant to “strengthen the rule of law”.
Also in 2012, USAID was accused of helping Israel to pay for the construction of its apartheid wall, and the building of roads that actually cut off Palestinians from jobs.
It’s also interesting that USAID supports issues in other countries that are divisive within the United States, such as homosexuality: “Yes, we have projects around the world in the LGBT [lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender] area. In Southeast Asia, they are designed to support organizations that are stepping forward to demand their rights.”-Donald Steinberg, USAID deputy administrator
Regardless of what you think about homosexuality, how can your government be spending your tax money supporting issues in other countries, that do not have the overwhelming majority of support within the U.S.?
In 2011, Cuba convicted U.S. citizen Alan Phillip Gross on espionage charges. Who did Gross work for? Why USAID of course. Gross was working through members of the Jewish community in Cuba.
In 2010 USAID admitted they don’t know what happens to the tens of millions of U.S. tax dollars sent to Ethiopia: “….it is not possible to determine the extent of that contribution because of weakness in the mission’s performance management and reporting system…..the audit was unable to determine whether the results reported in USAID/Ethiopia’s Performance Plan and Report were valid because mission staff could neither explain how the results were derived nor provide support for those reported results. In fact, when the audit team attempted to validate the reported results, it was unable to do so….”-USAID AUDIT REPORT NO. 4-663-10-003-P
Wikileaks released documents showing that USAID was involved with attempts to get rid of Hugo Chavez of Venezuela: “The USAID/OTI program objectives in Venezuela focus on strengthening democratic institutions and spaces through non-partisan cooperation with many sectors of Venezuelan society.”-U.S. State Department cable 09 November 2006
What does OTI stand for? Office of Transition Initiatives, in other words, regime change. The OTI is part of USAID. Remember what the Russians said about NGOs and USAID? The 2006 State Department cable proves the Russians correct: “OTI partners are training NGOs to be activists…”-U.S. State Department cable 09 November 2006
This list could go on and on. One thing is for sure, USAID is not what it officially claims to be.
“War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.”-slogans from the book 1984
“America is watching.”-John Kerry, U.S. Secretary of State
“The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch them without doing anything.”-Albert Einstein
