“In this historic agreement, Abbas reiterated that the king is the custodian of holy sites in Jerusalem and that he has the right to exert all legal efforts to preserve them, especially al-Aqsa mosque. It is also emphasizing the historical principles agreed by Jordan and Palestine to exert joint efforts to protect the city and holy sites from Israeli Judaisation attempts.”-official statement from Royal Palace of King Abdullah II
On 31 March 2013, the Hashemite King of Jordan, Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein, made a promise to the Palestinians, to defend Al Quds from Israeli zionists! In return Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas (aka Abu Mazen) declared the King of Jordan the official protectorate of Al Quds!
Palestinian Minister for Religious Affairs, Mahmud Habbash, said that not only are Islamic sites in need of protection, but so are Christian sites, as Israel has been attacking both. Just this past western Christian Easter Sunday (eastern Christians celebrate Easter in May) Israelis stopped Palestinian Christians from taking part in Easter celebrations, even though many live just five miles from Al Quds.
According to U.S. President Barack Obama, Israelis are not racists!
Here’s what many Palestinian Christians are saying about the non-racist Israelis:
“For us, the Palestinian suffering started in 1948. Jesus was condemned to death, and we were condemned to nonexistence! I’m against permits. I don’t even think we should ask for permits. Do they [Jews] need permits to pray? Why do Muslims and Christians who wish to worship pose a threat while they don’t?”-Nora Carmi, member of interdenominational Christian group Kairos
“There should not even be a question of needing permits to visit one’s own city! East Jerusalem is the occupied capital of the Palestinian people and freedom of worship is a basic human right for all of our Christian and Muslim citizens, a right which is being systematically and increasingly denied by a foreign [Israeli] occupying force.”-Hanan Ashrawi, Palestinian Christian and politician/activist (whenever she appears in U.S. media they fail to mention she is not Muslim)
“Last year we had buses from all the parishes, around 17 to 18. This year only eight buses came. Some places, like Jenin, did not get any permits and while we had four buses last year from Bethlehem, there was only one this year!”-Ashraf Khatib
“This day can be long and dark, and give us hopelessness as the peace process is not moving. But Easter gives me hope that no oppression or injustice will last.”-Bishop Mounib Younan, Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan
In the past Israelis have blamed the oppression of Palestinian Christians on Muslims, but that is countered by the fact that many Palestinian Christians are members of the Palestinian Liberation Organization!
Why hasn’t the Israeli controlled U.S. main streamer media reported any of this? Oh yeah…
