Hours after a 6.8 magnitude earthquake, in the same area as last years 9.0 Mega Quake, the Tokyo area was hit by a 6.1 earthquake.

The first quake caused reports of a small 20 centimeter (eight inches) tidal surge on the Pacific side of Hokkaido.

Then another earthquake hit Chiba Prefecture, Tokyo area, at least magnitude 6.1.
